Early in a wave of development on Manhattan’s West Side, the 43-story Rushmore condominiums were constructed to offer high-rise living with a suite of services on a prime spot near the Hudson River. “The Rushmore was kind of the first of those Riverside Boulevard buildings that came up with all of the amenities,” says Monisha Rana, a native New Yorker and real estate salesperson with Coldwell Banker Warburg. “It was sort of the first to really start that trend that now you see so many other new buildings have.” Built in 2006, the Rushmore occupies the full block between West 63rd and West 64th Streets, with two towers extending from an adjoined base and three elevator banks servicing the building’s separate sections. “It’s a very large building, but it feels intimate because it’s so split up,” Rana says. The location’s popularity has only grown since the Rushmore first opened, with residential buildings like One West End Avenue and 50 Riverside Boulevard rising nearby and more retail and dining options opening. “It’s really developed into something kind of amazing,” Rana says. The building’s 267 units largely include studios to four-bedrooms, though some combined units, offering five and six bedrooms, can also be found. Some residences have been updated and customized, but most have dark or light hardwood flooring and kitchens with granite countertops and Miele appliances. A one-bedroom with Makore wood cabinetry and city views costs over $1 million. A two-bedroom with an additional office space and views of the Hudson River might go for $1.8 million. Custom-designed penthouses with 11-foot ceilings, oversized windows and expansive entertaining spaces with a fireplace run around $7 million, with views of both the Hudson River and the Manhattan skyline being an attractive selling point. The Rushmore’s rep as an early full-service building was well-earned thanks to its prime suite of amenities, including an indoor swimming pool, large fitness facility and Pilates area with reformer machines. Residents can watch a movie in the private screening room or play a game of billiards in the lounge, and kids have a separate indoor playroom. From the large lobby, a full-time doorman and concierge attend to resident needs. “It’s such a big building, but the doormen know everybody by name. It’s really high service,” Rana says. During workweek morning and evening rush hours, a shuttle is offered to take residents between the Rushmore and the Columbus Circle and 72nd Street subways. There’s no question that a large part of the Rushmore’s appeal is its Lincoln Square location. “People who move there love being there. They love the neighborhood feel it gives you, but you’re still near the center of everything — you’re blocks from Lincoln Center,” says Rana. New restaurants are reachable within a few minutes’ walk, including Harry’s Table by Cipriani. Small grocers like Gracefully and Brooklyn Fare are a couple of blocks away, and Morton Williams is five blocks away. The Rushmore also sits between West End Park and Riverside Park, which offers plenty of space for joggers and cyclists, with beach volleyball courts nearby. Of course, it’s just a 10-minute stroll to Lincoln Center, to enjoy the year-round programming and special summer events. The nearest subway, at 72nd Street, offers the 1 and 2 and 3 trains and can take about 15 minutes to reach on foot or about half that time if taking the Rushmore’s shuttle.

The Rushmore is a condominium located in New York and the 10069 ZIP Code. This area is served by the New York County attendance zone.
