Garden City is a fairly small Long Island village near Queens, roughly an hour away from Manhattan by car or rail. It’s not cheap to live here, but you certainly get what you pay for: the residents are friendly, the streets are lined with trees, the local architecture is gorgeous, crime is low, and the local schools earn top marks.
Adelphi University sits in the center of Garden City, with clusters of restaurants and nightlife hotspots near the outskirts of the campus (Hofstra University sits just to the east). JFK Airport is just minutes away, and Long Island’s beaches are easily within day-trip distance of your Garden City apartment.
