Property Ratings at Burgundy And Hillsboro
Building and Units are old but livable, not many issues with maintenance but if there is it’s resolved right away. The office staff is very nice but just generally slow at everything. Biggest issue is the neighbors….it’s loud & the walls are paper thin. I live on the top floor and can hear my downstairs neighbor doing everything! There is no respect for each other or that it is a shared community space. Cars are also blasting music, there’s a loud truck that revs its engine constantly and alarms are always going off. THIS PLACE IS NOT QUIET. I’ve brought up all these issues to management and nothing gets resolved. I cannot wait to get out of here, don’t waste your time.

The living conditions are the best here. The staff and maintenance have always been A1. When I put in a request to get something fixed it's done the next day. I just signed onto another year's lease and Brittney help me with that, easy peasy. I have no complaints.

Hi Paul, We are grateful and appreciate the time you took to leave your review. Hearing that your experience went well really makes our day. If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to reach out to our team. See you next time!
Pros: newer appliances, carpet, and flooring. Management is awesome and gets on top of things quickly! VERY dog friendly with a great dog park and bag stands to clean up with. To top it off, most people are nice to be around and talk to! Cons: It’s an older building, so the walls and floors are thin. In fact, the neighbor below hs has complained about my wife and I WALKING in our apartment several times, but we can hear neighbors in general; that’s apartment living. Also, security. Sketchy stuff happens in the parking lots, and people have things broken into at times; in fact, someone broke into my locked truck and stole a laptop out of it. This is a policing issue in the area, but something to be aware of. Lastly, the dryers here are atrocious. Don’t even bother using them, they don’t work, and only waste your time and money.
**Pros: -Lots of space, pretty cheap -pet friendly* -big bedroom -pretty good location, not awesome but a relatively quiet and safe area in new hope. -balcony doors give good natural light in the living room when it’s sunny **Cons- with units: horrible kitchen set up. It’s tiny and barely has enough room for one person to cook a meal. The closets in the bedrooms are great but there is nowhere to store larger items without adding a storage locker onto your lease. The floor plans are not well set up. There is little to no airflow through the whole unit because the windows are placed all on the same wall. No ceiling lighting in bedrooms or living room. **Cons, with property and management: -management is pretty lazy with how they run the complex and doesn’t handle issues in timely or professional manner. Absolute BARE minimum is what you’re getting from them. -apartments are not in great shape. Paint jobs were rushed and done poorly, carpet it pulling up where it shouldn’t be after a “remodel”. rented for a year and some change and there were EIGHT repairs needed. On more than one occasion, maintenance service was GARBAGE. -laundry is $1.75 for both wash and dry. Dryer rarely finishes drying a load of laundry and have frequently needed a second round of drying. -the buildings are a “no smoke area” and yet my floor constantly smells like a pack of cigarettes. In spite of the whole complex’s common areas being smoke free, the two women who run the office are CONSTANTLY stepping outside and smoking cigarettes, right next to the playground. -if you face the courtyard, be prepared for VERY noisy kids running around unsupervised. Good luck getting management to do anything. -paper thin walls. -snow removal frequently takes more than 4 days after big snowfall. parking spaces are already limited without snow being in the equations. if you park on the street you get a ticket, regardless of there being nowhere else to park. Long story short: if there is anywhere else with comparable price and sizing, please go with that. This apartment complex and management has been nothing but a headache to deal with.
This is a wonderful apartment complex! The management is great, the neighborhood is safe, and the apartments are beautiful! I could see myself, boyfriend and cat lliving in Burgundy for awhile!
All the same complaints. Philosophically they care more about this old building then the people who live here. When the apartment was very hot in winter with the heat turned all the way down, I was told not to open my windows as the pipes might burst. Apparently i was supposed to live with it at 80 . Had the windows open all winter. The oven spews out enough heat to melt a plastic container left on the stove while cooking a pizza. Couldn't fix that. The dishwasher only cleans all the dishes if it's half full, haven't bothered to ask about getting it fixed. The washers, though apparently new, do not actually clean clothes. Black comes out full of lint, stains remain, and soap isn't rinsed out, even when fillled half full. At $1.75 for a half load it adds up mighty quick. The laundry room itself is sweltering. Now managment is considering a ban on window airconditionrs, even though they are not banned in my lease. The windows seem fairly new, and management doesn't want them damaged. Again the priority is the building and not the people who are trying to make a home here. With these priorities the company seems better suited to owning storage units then housing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. It sounds like there are some issues we need to work on so I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to see how we can do better and resolve some of the maintenance issues. We'd also like to work on other solutions to your air conditioning concerns. It's important that we don't have air conditioners in the window because not only may it break the window frames, but it could pose a danger to other residents, and yourself, if the air conditioner falls out of the window. Please call me, or my assistant Mary, to discuss these issues. You can reach us at 952-593-9930, Thank you again for your review and I look forward to speaking with you directly. I love Hillsboro Court Apartments! The maintenance staff are so kind and helpful. Kaylee and Kimberly are fantastic as well-- always so friendly and available for assistance! The parking/garage space is so convenient and accessible and I loved the location...so close to everything and right off the highway! I was blown away with how quiet and peaceful it is there, and I love that they allow pets! I always felt comfortable and safe in my apartment. It's a wonderful community... I definitely recommended Hillsboro Court to anyone looking to reside in the New Hope area!

Do not expect a phone call back after you've signed your lease, even if they say they'll give you one. You'll have to make sure you're checking your door for notes after the office is closed for the night and hope it wasn't something urgent that you actually needed to talk to them with. Of course, they might not even answer the phone to begin with - I've seen numerous times talking to one of the people in the office and the other two people won't bother answering the phone at all when it rings. Right away when we moved in we did our walk through and gave them a list of repairs (they did not disclose to us that our unit previously had water damage and had flooded). I still have a leaky kitchen sink and bathroom sink two years later - some of the outlet covers from where they redid some of the wall parts still do not fit, have large gaps or are loose. Kitchen cabinet space is small. The maintenance workers are usually pretty rude and unprofessional - wearing dirty boots into your unit and tracking mud/dirt through the carpets (don't worry, you'll pay for it later when you're moving out if you can't get the stains they left out). Really they only have one person who's at all reasonable to deal with in the office, and she's probably the one that will do your showing. And please take pity on the people who's unit you're entering because they're in the process of moving (have put in notice to terminate their lease) and were given a note on their door (not even a phone call) after the office closed less than 24 hours before your scheduled showing to have the apartment look model ready.

Thank you for taking the time to review me. I always aim to return phone calls, emails and requests the same day, and I’m sorry we weren’t able to connect. If I can still be of assistance, I promise I will get back to you as soon as possible, or I’d be happy to speak with you in person if you’re able to stop by the management office during business hours. I hope that we have communicated and resolved your concerns, but if not our entire staff would love an opportunity to make sure your experience at Hillsboro Court is 5 stars! I look forward to hopefully hearing from you soon. Sincerely, Kimberly Koop
I've been living in here for 1 year and I can't wait to move out, the management is horrible they hit you with any penalty in any moment and is not cheap 300$ and up, if you don't pay they screw you rental history, the apartments smell like weed all the time the windows doesn't work completely the bathrooms are always leaking, no elevator, no underground garage, in summer the little A/C is not enough for all the rooms, so you have to sleep on the living room. My advice DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!
Good building, gas station next to it, to hot in summer but good for winter
The Good: French Windows Great Heated Pool Pet Friendly (Cats and Dogs) Well Maintained Grounds 15 Minutes from Minneapolis Quiet (Despite the Animals) Plenty of Storage 10 Minute Walk to Medicine Lake The Bad: Management doesn't seem communicate well with each other or the residents. (Phone calls and emails are not always returned) It takes several days and sometimes a week (or 2 or 3) to get maitainance to respond to your request. Coin operated laundry machines! (Common on! It's 2015!) You get a "free" garage, but your rent breakdown online shows a $30 garage fee. Rent has gone up every year (I am now paying $90 more per month, 3 years later). The Ugly: In the winter, other residents with dogs allow their pets to relieve themselves on and near apartment enterances (Management will soon be performing DNA testing on all dogs and fining residents who do not pickup after their pets). The Jist: If you are a patient person with a pet this may be the place for you; but if you enjoy a modern lifestyle and expect a timely and efficient staff, this apartment will never feel like home sweet home.
i lived here for almost two years. When I first moved in the office staff was GREAT! But then there was new management in the office and they were HORRIBLE!! Kimberly is horrible she picks at everything you do and tries to get money from you. Maintenance never comes you have to harass them to actually "try" to fix something. My dad actually fixed most of everything in my apartment. There were two floods in the apartments as well the whole lower level and they didn't compensate any of the residents and were just rude. Dog Friendly??? ya right if you don't bring your dog to the "designated area" you will have complaints and have to pay then your dog will get evicted eventually. But this rule doesn't apply to everyone just the ones they don't like. Overall i wouldn't make the choice to move here especially if you love your dog. The price for rent is not worth what these old apartments look like.
