The property itself is beautiful. It’s in the woods and wrapped around a large pond. Next to the pond is a spacious dog park. They a pool, a hot tub, and a gym! Shawn and Lindsey are always quick to assist with any issues or questions you may have. The maintenance team has a speedy 72hr response time to any issues. Andre, Trevor, and Nick keep the grounds looking amazing and the pool crystal clear. It’s a big place to handle for just 5 people but they do a wonderful job. I’ve been here for 8 years now and love it.

When my wife and I were looking for an apartment to rent, this was the first place we toured, and we filled out an application immediately! It’s been 3 years and we haven’t looked back. Our dog loves the dog park, we love the walking trails and how close the complex is to downtown Howell, and our apartment is the perfect size.

My girlfriend and I moved in a month ago and we love it. We did have a few problems when we moved in, our dryer broke, a couple of windows needed to be replaced, the filter above the stove was missing, and a few other small things. BUT Burwick farms fixed everything right away! We didn’t have to pester them at all. They have been very polite and understanding about everything. Everyone has been super nice! I couldn’t recommend this apartment complex enough.

Our water heater died Saturday. David and Jason came first thing Monday morning, knew it had to be replaced. They drained, removed, and installed the new all before 2pm. Both guys super efficient and so friendly. I appreciate them very much, Thanks guys!

Background: I lived here for 11 months from summer 2016- summer 2017 Pros: -The laundry right inside the apartment was great. (Although I hope your dryer doesn't go out. See maintenance comment below) -The key entry to each building made me feel safer. (even though the door hinge was usually broken and sometimes the doors could be opened without key) -Really nice size dog park overlooking a pond with a fountain. -Very spacious master bedroom. -Secluded, large balcony with a roof. Beautiful view. -Just minutes from multiple stores, gas stations, restaurants and schools. Cons: -Maintenance was prompt most of the time, other times it took a few times for the (small) job to get done. For example, our clothes dryer stopped putting out hot air, so maintenance had to come three times because they half a**ed the job the first two times. Not only that, they never let you know when they are coming. You just get a knock at the door by a couple of men dressed in t-shirts and jeans, nothing to identify them as employees. As a young woman, answering the door in my pjs to two men while i'm home alone was slightly discomforting. Another example, when a big tree fell from a storm we had and it partially stuck out in the road, rather than removing or cutting the tree, they put an orange flag on the end sticking out. It was there for a couple weeks. -The parking situation was absolutely ridiculous. Come home at 5 or 6 pm on a Tuesday and there are NO parking spots remaining. We received a flyer from the office back in late fall of 2016 saying we were getting more parking spaces. Come winter time, still no parking spaces. They claimed the city delayed it until spring. Then come move out day in July, the parking spaces were still not completed. That's not the only thing that I looked forward to (and never happened), they never opened the pool for the summer. -Besides the dog park, this was not a great place to have a dog. No one in our building would ever pick up their dogs messes, so every time we would go to let them out, it was hard to avoid all the poo piles. There are doggy bag stations pretty well spaced throughout Burwick, but people don't seem to bother to use them, not to mention it sometimes takes a week or more to get the bags filled or the trash emptied. After thinking of all the pros and cons, the pros were great but the cons outweighed them. If you're ready to pay way too much for mediocre apartment living, Burwick is the place to be.
Decent amenities and approachable staff, but unreasonable fees are a commonality. We were charged many times throughout our two-year stay for things that the staff had trouble explaining. Accordingly, my wife and I spent several days cleaning before our move-out date and our security deposit refund ($300) was reduced nearly to zero for “cleaning” fees.
It is a reasonable assumption that the company makes their profits on fees. Service repairs take an unreasonably long time. Burwick stated that it would send the refund to my fiance and I no later than 30 days after vacating the premises, when in fact we received it nearly 2 months after moving out. It also appears that the amounts priced for "cleaning fees" and "damages" were determined in a fantasy land. I do NOT recommend living here.
Wonderful friendly staff. The fastest maintaince around, put in a request and 10 minutes later they were at the door. I love that we have our own washer/dryer unlike so many other apartment complexes. Pool is always clean and nice grilling area right at the clubhouse. Units are very clean and well maintained. Very convenient location, easy to get to grocery store, shopping mall and gas stations. Only downside is walls are a bit thin.
