Property Ratings at C9 Flats
Want to get ripped off of 70$ for application fee if you have a cosigner? This property is just for you,I would give them 0 stars if I could, if you are a student or someone who has a cosigner stay the hell away from this placement through the whole leasing and application process MIND YOU NO WHERE ON THEIR APPLICATION DID IT SAY IF YOU HAVE A COSIGNER YOUR COSIGNER HAS TO DOUBLE THE AMOUNT OF INCOME REQUIRED.This means unless your parents have immense income to help, good luck.Did I mention this happened AFTER they took my application fee and administration fee? This is utterly a dishonest practice and its already frustrating having to call for additional fees but this is on another level of dishonest and shady practice.
The location leaves something to be desired, but the amenities, interior and management more than make up for it. This is priced more reasonable that comparable locations.
There was a management change in March/April 2020 and everything has gone downhill since. I kept holding out hope that they were just adjusting so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Now that we are 4 months I can confidently say they have not gotten better. 1. The property manager is so unresponsive, we have sent multiple emails and left multiple voicemails with no reply ever. The only way to get in contact with her is to luck out and get to the office when she is in there 2. They are constantly downgrading the amenities previously provided. They removed the large professional printer from the business center, much of the gym equipment has gone missing and has not been replaced, the secured garage is often left open. 3. There is still no online portal to pay rent even though it is explicitly called out in our lease that we will be able to pay via an online portal. 4. They recently separated our water and sewer payment from our rent even though it was previous included with absolutely no communication. And on top of that the $15-20 water bill has an online payment portal while we still don't have an online portal to pay our rent. 5. There is a secured package hub but it is not regularly used by management and packages sit out in the lobby or on top of the mailboxes constantly instead of in the secure hub. 6. There is often small trash and liter out front of the building and it would be so easy to have a maintenance team member start his day by walking around the building and picking up a bit. 7. The power has gone out a few times since we have lived here which is not there fault at all but the building has a backup generator. With the old management the full building was powered by the backup generator now it seems only select outlets and lights work which causes a much larger disruption by the outage. Overall we love the building and location but the new management is making it really hard to want to stay.
Around March/April of 2020, this building was sold to De Anza properties. That’s when everything went downhill. First, they enforced a requirement to pay rent by check when our lease clearly states online portal as an option. It’s now June 2020 and we are still being forced to pay rent by check even though we’ve done been promised online payment. Second, our lease payments have always included water and sewer, and that’s what we signed. As of June 2020, they have suddenly started charging us through a utility company in addition to the rent payment. No notice about this change or anything. Third, the manager on duty is absolutely useless and unreliable. No communication at all. No help. Always defensive. No empathy. No desire to take care of the residents. She is the reason people are leaving. De Anza properties is the reason this building will fail. Please, if someone from De Anza is reading this, help us! We need need communication, we need transparency, we need more security in the parking decks, we need to be heard!
Property Manager at C9 Flats, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback on your experience. It would be incredibly helpful to learn a little bit more about your experience and we would greatly appreciate it if you could reach out to me at c9@deanzaproperties.com to discuss. Thank you,
Great unit and gym but management and the other amenities are really poor.
C9 has beautifully designed, spacious apartments and great facilities. The proximity to local shops is great as well!
C9 is artsy and modern place in a great neighborhood. The inside has an industrial feel with bright colors and the view of the city from the roof is amazing. Perfect for young professionals. The people in the leasing office, specifically Laura, have cheerful attitude and are great!
I enjoy living here and property is well maintained.
The staff, location and layout/condition of these apartments are some of the best value in the city.
I love living here! The security and spaciousness, open feel is awesome. It is conveniently located to SLC and interstate.
It's a great place to live if you're into spacious floorplans
If you are looking for a perfect place to live then you have to come to c9. The pictures dont do the place justice, its absolutely perfect, modern, chic and just all around incredible. The staff is so friendly and I get responses from emails sent within 20 minutes.
C9 has been great for the initial move in process and so far we love our decision to move here.
So far the experience has been great! There's a lot of resident involvement in the community and I love that, and the staff is super helpful and nice.
Theres a very professional and friendly staff here! The view is amazing and everything from grocery stores to bars are five minutes away.
Great floor plan and location. Excellent management.
I couldn't be happier having a home at C9 flats. The staff are wonderful, the apartment is absolutely beautiful - love the amenities offered within the building, and you couldn't ask for a better location. So close to downtown, but still a pretty quiet and peaceful neighborhood.
I love C9 Flats, I looked all around the downtown Salt Lake City area and could not find a place with a floor plan as open as C9 for the price C9 has. The leasing office staff, are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, they will work with you on anything and help to accommodate you. The building is nice and clean and quite which is a huge thing for me, C9 is right next to a park that allows off leash hours which is huge for me and my service dog.
It's good place to living but still need improve
Excellent living space with amazing amenities!
