spacious and updated units with awesome views in select apartments. right next to BART station so very convenient for those who rely on public transportation. Management and Maintenace team consist of really awesome & kind people! My residential experience has not been the most pleasant. The swimming pool feels extremely small and seems more suitable for kids than for adults. The carpets in the hallways are filthy, particularly the rugs near the elevators, which are often broken. When taking the stairs, there's a strong odor of urine, making the experience even worse. The exit to Cadence Park also smells terrible due to residents allowing their pets to relieve themselves in areas not designated for that purpose.

They don’t fix the elevator issue and do not respond on email. There been many times when their elevator stopped working , one of elevator is still out of service since 6 months now

The staff is nice. But the elevators being broken constantly is wild to me. Also, expect a urine smell near and around the pool. When you need something fixed in tour unit, they respond quickly. That I appreciate.

Something is always going down at these apartments. Cars are getting broken into left and right. Supposedly, they have a new camera system but that doesn’t help. Management really doesn’t care because it’s not happening to their cars. And to a beautiful surprise The garage gate is always broken. Alongside with elevators, not working. This place is trash. Do not get fooled by the semi luxury advertisement

I highly recommend using neighborhood apps to get a true review of this or any place. Cars in the garage have been broken into and stolen multiple times due to no cameras and lack of security presence. The management team does not notify any of the residence of these instances. There is also dog pee in the courtyard, which makes the entire courtyard reek of urine.

Cadence is an excellent community to live. The indoor parking garage with EV charging stations demonstrates their support for the environment. Also,the recyling and compost receptacles are ways that our building contributes to keeping the planet clean. Whenever I have a maintenance call, I go online to request assistance and the work order is completed the next day. A maintenance order could be just changing a light bulb in the ceiling which is about 9 feet high. The building managers are thoroughly the best. They answer any questions you have about your lease and the apartment. They organize community events so the residents can meet their neighbors. We have met many nice people here and we spend time together. The neighbors are cordial to each other. Cadence maintains a clean building. The pet spa helps residents keep their pets clean. Bags for pet waste are provided by the building. We have been residents for 3 years and we have no plans to move. The location to BART is extremely important to us. We feel at home at Cadence. This is the place to be!

I’ve lived at cadence for two years now and I have noticed how bad this place is getting. This whole week I’ve gotten woken up my rowdy dogs and in my building the smoke of weed is unbearable there’s a lack of respect for rules here. I am searching for a better location

After living here I can say it is one of the biggest regrets I have to this day Management is awful and only for themselves. There was so much then over in the office at first that response times were practically nonexistent and now that they have a few regular faces it’s still TERRIBLE because none of them know what they are doing either. If you have a maintenance issue you are better off asking YouTube how to fix it because “urgent” maintenance requests will be ignored. Don’t be fooled on the tour they give you - the amenities are trash, the neighborhood is not safe, parking is a joke and don’t even think about have a GUEST over unless you or them would like to circle the neighborhood forever just for a parking spot in the most sketchy place ever. We have “security” but somehow break ins keep happening and currently the gate has been stuck open for over a week. If you enjoy the smell of trash, weed, sub par apartments and amenities then Cadence is the place for you. At this point, whoever leaves 5 stars for this place is a paid actor. I can’t wait to move.

If you love maryjane then you’re so lucky to live here because this property smells like it all the time. Specially weekend nights. Even during the day ?? this is a heaven for mary jane lovers. ?? a lot of people live here be because of this very reason so they can openly do mary jane. The staff however will tell you that its a smoke free place but don't get disappointed because that is not the truth. Happy 420! ??

Cadence Apartments are kept clean, secure, has security, staff are attentive. They maintain and improve the landscaping, touch up paint/repaint. I have been renting apartments for 16 years and Cadence Apartments is by far the best managed apartment community I have lived in.

In the last six weeks my neighbors door was kicked in their apartment was robbed, my catalytic converter was taken from my vehicle, and my storage unit was robbed. Although the lock by was changed by staff at least a week prior I was never notified that my unit and others were robbed.

The residents at Cadence are nice and greet each other. The gatherings coordinated by management have been fun. For instance, the Christmas holidays and St. Patrick's Day parties in the clubhouse was a great opportunity to meet the management and other residents in the complex. It was very neighborly. The staff posted flyers on the elevators to announce an event in the clubhouse. Using the elevators for advertising is great. We love the staff, and they are always willing to assist you when you need them.

Im having an outstanding experience at cadence. The manager is very professional and caring. She makes me feel at home and the setting is very family like which is great! The leasing specialist Amanda is super helpful and she remembered my maintenance issue even after I forgot about it, how amazing ! Maintenance team has A1 service I couldnt ask for more. They are very prompt with fixing maintenance issues and returning maintenance request calls. Overall 100/10 experience.
The management is not good at all. The are not fair on rent, if you are their tenant, they will raise the rent but they would ask the new tenant for the rental fee less than you. Disappointing.
Luxurious apartment complex with great amenities and large living spaces.
Nice apartment but package management is slightly annoying. Very little within walking distance of the apartment. Maintenance is behind and I was told my issue would be resolved in about a month.
The secure building is great and the parking garage is good. We like the apartment and appreciate the excellent kitchen appliances.
Decent place, secure, nice unit, mostly good people in the office. But you gotta check their work and watch out for yourself on maintenance issues.

The laundry and washer are horrible, practically useless. The dish washer washes but doesn't dry. Maintenance says a drying aid MUST be used. Living here may add more expenses here and there such as attending laundromat and purchasing drying for dishwasher unless everything in the apartment works as advertised. Other than that I am quiet happy. The front office is responsive.

When we moved in on August 30, 2019 was the first red flag. We moved in to an apartment that smelled of dog urine and had carpets filled with dog urine in both bedrooms. When asking the leasing office to replace the carpets because the pee smell was so heavy. The property manager, Todd let us know that we needed to move our things out of the bedrooms and he will replace the carpet. They did not come to do the request until September 3, 2019. When we returned to our unit we see that the carpet was only cleaned and never replaced. We have the same pee stains on our carpet now and it has been 8 months later. This was the first red flag that will lead into us getting the constant run around and. Or not having follow through from Greystar's property manager Todd. In November 2019, a phone call was given to a leasing agent, Mia to let her know about an issue that I was having with the noise level of the upstairs neighbor. The noise that I explained was noise of a ball bouncing, a little kid running, and maybe a small kid bicycle being rode back and forth in the living room. She let me know that she will send an email noise complaint to let them know that there has been excessive noise. I got off the phone with Mia and felt comfortable with those steps and hoping that the noise level would calm down or not happen during quiet hours. However, the noise level began to increase and new noises began to happen, such as banging with a hammer and now the noise was happening at 6am in the bedrooms. The week prior to Thanksgiving 2019 I called the office to let them know that the noise level has increased and that new types of noise levels are happening at egregious times of the day. He let me know that we should set up an in person meeting to discuss conflict resolution procedures. The second week of December 2019 I met with the property manager, Todd. During the meeting I explained my issues and let him know that I have tried some in-home remedies such as turning the volume up on the TV in the living room, turning on the fan over the oven. I let him know that I have already done 2 noise complaints and would like to find other resolutions to this issue because it is still prevalent. My suggestion to him was for me and my partner to go upstairs to the unit to introduce ourselves and to also let them know about the noises that we are hearing. I recently just moved into Cadence Apartments and I love it! Very modern and new look. A little on the pricey side but I think its worth it.
The application process was simple and straightforward. All 3 staff members in the leasing office are helpful and pleasant. I love the trash vallet service. I also love the peace and quiet of my apartment.
Amazing apartments in a prime location. Perfect inside the apartment. Only drawbacks are unassigned parking and smelly corridors in the evenigs due to valley trash service.
Cadence is a great place to live. I have been here about 5 months and happy with the community. The size of the units are nice, valet trash is great, and having A/C is big plus as many communities don't have this option. Having a parking garage is also great, and there is always lots of parking. I chose a larger unit instead of having a balcony, but next time I would choose a balcony unit as I miss sitting outdoors on occasion. All of the staff at Cadence are super great, very responsive, professional, and somehow remembers everyones name. I would highly recommend Cadence.
This has been the best apartment experience I have ever had. Cadence Apartments has all of the right amenities for a good price. If you are looking for a quality spot that is new and fresh then this is it! Also, Bart is directly in front of the complex so traveling into the city for business or pleasure is a breeze if you do not want to drive. Management has been wonderful. They've made my transition to Hayward very smooth. Liz is a superb leasing agent. Every time I had a question or concern she was available to answer and help me out. Overall, I am enjoying my time here at Cadence Apartments. It is peaceful, clean, and relatively central to all that the Bay Area has to offer.

Horrible experience living in Cadence Hayward Apartments. Almost nothing works correctly here. You must pay $45 monthly charge for trash collecting and they are supposed to collect the trash between 6-8 pm. But many nights, even at 10 pm nobody comes to collect it. The whole hallway smells disgusting and gets so nasty. In fact, I have taken a picture of what you will see every night. Many times, you find the entrance of gated parking open. So, any strangers can get into the complex. Also, recently the parking exit door doesn’t work and we had to exit from the entrance. The other problem is the elevator, which is extremely slow and the complex is only four floors. Also, sometimes it doesn’t even work and I have to run through stairs. The manager keeps sending emails to sign up for parcel mailbox and parcel supposed to make everything easier and safer. But again, several times you find your packages on the floor next to parcel lockers and anyone can take your package. Not sure who is responsible for that. Finally, don’t get fooled by the luxuries and amenities of this complex. After living for a few months, you realize what is going on.
Ditto everything that was previously said. Poor management, hidden fees, and visible safety and health violations - this place is a mess. The rent sounds reasonable, but you're also paying for every utility under the sun: gas, electric, internet, garbage, sewage, cold water, hot water, not to mention administrative fees for a third party billing service. I wouldn't mind that much if they weren't charging me at 5 times the official city water rates. As mentioned in previous reviews, you pay $45 for valet trash, which doesn't come on Fridays, Saturdays, or holidays. Sometimes the trash guy decides to take a random day off. In the beginning, he came around the time he was supposed to. Now he sets his own schedule so everyone's trash sits outside for half a day. Barely tolerable in the winter; makes you want to puke during the summer. Management either doesn't know the answers to your questions or they make up an answer to make you go away. The only 2 things they excel at are ignorance and passive aggressiveness. Like the title says, don't come here if you can help it.
I had the worst experience so far only after three months of living in Cadence apartment. The management is neither transparent nor understanding. Before signing the lease, they told us that there are plenty of free parking around this area for guests but it was a big lie. They work with a towing company who tows residents’ cars on daily basis and that is how they make money! They towed my car two times and charged me almost $1000 total in the first three months which is really frustrating! The first time month of living here they towed the car without any previous notice from the complex parking because as a resident, once I forgot to hang the tag under the windshield. Talking with the manager, he seemed so indifferent and refused to help. I thought the management should keep the new customer happy at least for a while and be a little flexible with them until they get used to all the new apartment rules. The second time that they tow my car, was absolutely ridiculous. I parked in the guest area. In their email, they clearly stated that if we park more than three consecutive days in there, the car will be towed. They towed my car in the first couple of hours of parking there! They contradicted themselves and I am so fed up with the situation right now and cannot wait to leave this scam place. Save yourself from a headache and do not live here, you will regret it. What they care is not tenants, but it is how much money they can make out of them in any way possible. In addition, they closed all trash chute in the complex and there is a $45 monthly mandatory trash service
