Property Ratings at Calais Park Apartments
Apartments are relatively nice on the inside and I enjoy the high ceilings... but it is very expensive to attempt to keep cool in the summer. I say attempt because even with AC running constantly, it still turns into a sauna. Nearly all the plants, bushes and shrubs on the property are dead or on their way there. There is virtually no landscaping and I get the sense that management could care less. It is also noisy most of the time with the highway in the background. Gym.. really isn't a gym for anyone trying to get a workout in other than using the treadmill. It is generally unwalkable if you are planning on leaving the complex. Only real positives are the price point and being 10 mins from Central Ave.

I have lived here for 13 months in a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom with a garage. I am a registered nurse who worked the Covid-19 frontlines. So please trust me on this honest review. I didn’t mind living here since I don’t ask for much or bother anyone. I had two unexpected close family members pass within weeks. I called the office to explain that I would be late on my November’s rent and would pay both amounts December first. When I tried to pay they took off the pay option on my account. Not only was I out of town the entire month of November dealing with untimely deaths. I was informed (after making over 5 calls to the office which were never returned) that I was facing eviction. They told me I had to come back into town and pay them in person. Once I came back to town. I presented to the office which is never open. Then I was informed that I would be accountable for eviction fees when I was a month late and then late fees for December because I didn’t come in the office before December 4 to pay the rent while I was in MO burying the man that raised me. Before all of this happened I was fine with the complex and didn’t bother anyone. Now I am looking to break my lease and move ASAP. This office is very unprofessional. They’ll tell you one thing and then do another. The only good thing there is Anthony the maintenance worker who goes above and beyond. That’s why the staff in the office is ever changing and they don’t even know their own rules. No one speaks to anyone and if I could do it all over again. I wish I would’ve moved elsewhere with people with compassion, professionalism, and common sense. I would never treat someone the way they treat people. Go look at the property and see how empty it is. It’s because of the office staff.

We have been here 6 months and to date it has been a pleasant experience. The office and maintenance staff have been polite and responsive. Rent is a little high, but in todays housing market it is expected.

While the apartments are nice inside, in the past three years the grounds have declined considerably. There used to be beautiful flowering shrubs but most of the shrubs and plants are dead now or dying, and there is little grass, just weeds and patches of dirt. People don’t pick up their dog poop so it’s everywhere. I have seen a bit of drug dealing activity as well here, so moving when the lease is up.

It is a great neighborhood with a lot of nice scenery to look at should you want to take walks or just be outside in general. Everything is taken care of well. The gym and pool facilities are nice. The management is also very helpful with any concerns and addresses them right away. We personally worked with Serena and she is a great help. Definitely recommend it as a place to live for varying demographics.

The complex is literally right by the interstate which makes traveling to and from Tampa quick and easy. I haven't had many issues or questions since moving in, but Merritt has been incredibly helpful and very quick to respond every time I contacted her. Everything around the complex looks well kept and clean and the neighbors seem very friendly. All in all this is a great place to live and well-worth the price!

The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Maintenance is awesome and very diligent I also love the office staff. I just feel the rent is a little high for what you get and I also heard they go up every year so I will be leaving once my lease is up

I moved in to Calais Park Apartments about two months ago. I wanted to be close to downtown St. Pete without having to settle for a small apartment at an outrageous price. I found what I was looking for at Calais Park Apartments: a spacious apartment at a reasonable price near downtown St. Pete. So far, I am very happy with my experience. I love the layout of the remodeled two bedroom apartment with an upstairs loft. Plenty of space for a couple. My boyfriend is using the loft space upstairs as a studio. I also love the high vaulted ceilings. The front office staff are super friendly and helpful. I had many questions when I first moved in, and they responded immediately each time. Also, two minor work maintenance requests were handled immediately and professionally as well. I haven't gotten to know neighbors yet except in passing, but everyone so far seems very nice. It's quiet here, it's clean here, it's safe here, it's roomy here, and it's convenient to both downtown St. Pete and South Tampa. I would highly recommend.

Recently was approved for an apartment at this location & I must say hands down the leasing agent Merritt was amazing & so very patient with me and ALL my questions lol which I’m so very appreciative for! Complex is very kid friendly & neat...I would love to give this place 5 stars but I haven’t moved in yet which I’m more than optimistic everything will be perfect exactly how it my experience was with the leasing agent Merritt! After living here for 2 years now! I purchased a plug in hybrid vehicle that I have been charging every night when I can find a parking space as they are usually full from cars without residential stickers in the windshield! Several weeks ago some started unplugging my car in the middle of the night! Due to the fact I never received a note, email, phone call, text, knock on the door I assumed that some delinquent was messing with my car! I finally set up surveillance cameras and found out it was staff members of apts! Do to the fact there are no rules against obviously they make up the rules as they feel like it! Thus, I have to buy a 400' extension cord to plug it into my apt which is no where near the parking lot! I'm surprised they would be so worried about a few cents a day electricity, when the security lights have been inoperable for over a year! Also no recycling on property! I'm not a tree hugger but geez at least bring this place into the 21st century!
Unsafe complex! Won't fix safety and security issues! Higher power bills then a house 4 times larger! Move anywhere but here! Most security lighting is broken or malfunctioning and walkways are really dark, which has caused us snake encounters and 2 trip and falls! I would never let any female family members or friends live here, because it is so dark around complex it is criminal predators dream! You would never even see them right in front of you! I have never experienced a apartment complex that has so little disregard for the safety of its tenants, even after complaining about it for 2 years!
The apartments are pretty nice and the neighbors are nice as well. The rent is too high for the space that you get. The maintenance staff is really good with any issues. The only complain I have is that no matter what we do we cannot seem to get ants out of the apartment. They're tiny baby ants and we clean on a daily basis, spray insect repellent everywhere and nothing works. I won't be re-signing when my lease is up specifically because of the rent price.
Our apartment is quite adequate but the appliances are old and need repair or replacement. The living space is nice but the carpet is old & showing wear in certain high traffic areas. We like the area we are in as it is convenient to the highway and our places of work. We wish we could get some upgrades & an apartment that is a little airyer
