Just south of Barton Creek Habitat Preserves sits one Austin’s most family-friendly neighborhoods, West Oak Hill. Popular for its large lot sizes and relative tranquility when compared to the rest of the city that lies to the east, West Oak Hill is full of charming older houses, contemporary apartment homes, and plenty of amenities.
The nature preserve to the north is a notable feature, but there are also plenty of shopping centers on the neighborhood’s west side. Local restaurants of all types line Hwy 290 and TX-71, including popular spots like Jack Allen’s Kitchen Oak Hill. Take 290 to I-35 or up to the MoPac Expressway and you’ll be in Downtown Austin in just a few minutes. Commuters will appreciate the less intense traffic in West Oak Hills, and all the parks and green spaces that surround it.

Property Ratings at Callista Hill Country Apartments
So I'll start out by saying that the actual apartments are pretty nice and reasonably priced. However, everything else is pretty much downside. About 1/3 of the parking is open, about half is covered, and the rest are garages. However, half of the covered parking isn't rented because nobody wants to pay extra for it, which means you either pay up or compete for the open parking. I often have to walk across the entire complex because there are no open spots by my residence. Additionally, guest parking is terrible. There are some spots on the south side, so if you live on the north side, you have to go get your company (and if the guest spots are full, they have to park all the way at the office. Since the sale (Bell Hill Country -> Callista Hill Country), maintenance has gone to crap. At one point, I had an outstanding maintenance request for over a month. When I called to ask about it, they said they were behind, and when I checked my resident portal, it had actually been removed altogether. The pool was basically closed the entire summer. No, that isn't hyperbole... it was literally closed for 2-3 months. And then someone stole a portion of the mailbox, which at the time of my moveout, still wasn't replaced. So I had spent 2 months going to the post office on a regular basis to pick up my mail. In summary; decent apartments, terrible management.
Almost 4 years at this complex with our amazing view from the 3rd floor. However since getting a new owner this complex sadly not done well. Work orders routinely taking 2 to 4 weeks as well as multiple phone calls and emails to complete. Management not being responsive and trash around the regular dumpster and one they bring in at the back entrance. Highly disappointed in the current state of things.

Overall Bell Hill Country apartments is nestled in a beautiful area of south Austin. For the amenities and views overall the property is very nice.
Bell Hill Country is a wonderful place to live. The apartments have an accommodating design. The paint is an earth color that fits in well with the natural surroundings. All of the personnel are friendly, efficient and competent.

The apartments are great, quiet, and clean! Shane and Jacob are awesome and swift with responding to issues! The parking here is HORRIBLE! Handicap parking are used without tag and visitors parking is filled with residents. Besides the parking its a great place to live!

Bell Hill Country is a really nice place to live if you dont need anything after moving in. Quick to get your money and have you sign a lease, slow to manage the property or communicate after the fact.
I have lived in apartments in northern CA, southern CA, northeast US, Asia & Europe. Moving, unto itself, is seldom something individuals look forward to for the simple reason that change can sometimes be difficult. Never before have I ever had to move in the midst of a pandemic. This was perhaps one of the most difficult moves I've experienced for that reason and the management and maintenance teams at Bell Hill Country apartments delivered world class support. The Bell Hill Country community provides an excellent accommodation for those moving to Austin and delivers: - A convenient location for most destinations - Attractive grounds that are well maintained - Excellent accommodations - floor plan layouts that support diverse needs - Apartment living without the feel of being on top of one's neighbor - Apartments with great airflow and individual ventilation systems - safe during a pandemic - Peace and quiet - Excellent amenities (fitness ctr, pool, lounge, convenient package delivery system, trash valet) - Double secure gated entrances/exits that allow for easy highway access - And top of the line management and maintenance teams who care about the well being of their residents' experiences. To date, my personal living experience at Bell Hill Country Apartments has been excellent. I hope your relocation results in a similar positive venture. Best of success.
Bell Hill is a great place to live. So close to the city and Lake Travis but nestled in quiet Hill Country. The staff here is wonderful to work with.
