Property Ratings at Cambrian Apartments
Haven’t been able to eat a meal in my apartment in months because cockroaches are literally everywhere! Family and friends don’t want to visit and I don’t blame them. This place is absolutely disgusting! Worst complex I’ve ever lived at! If I could give zero stars, I would. Counting down the days until my lease is up.

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! this is the grossest, dirtiest and loudest place in aurora. there are 7 broken down cars in front of my building that has been there over 60 days and they wont do anything about. people doing drugs in the park and fights and gunshots at all hours of the night!

I would give these apartments ZERO stars if I could. My car has got broken into 3 times and the leasing office weren’t able to do anything about it. “That they wish they could more”. They need a security system because it hasn’t just happened to me I’ve talked to neighbors and they’ve also had there cars broken into/ as well as parts taken. Not including that when we first moved in before bringing in any of our stuff we found cockroaches in the dishwasher. We told them about it and they said they were sending pest control over. Parking is Horrible. You can never find a parking nearby and when you do it’s rare.

I have lived in this apartment community for only two months and would never recommend living here to my worse enemy. I am truly concerned for my safety and the children. There have been multiple murders and dead bodies found in our community. Not to mention the fact that I have yet to talk to any resident that hasn't had their car broken into or parts stolen off or even vandalized. I asked the property manager when they are going to put up cameras for the safety and property of the residents but refuses to because "crime has no address". They constantly say they are doing things to fix up our community but have yet to see any change. The other day I saw a man picking up glass out of the children's playground so no one would get hurt.

Staff lose work orders and the maintence walk into your apartment to spray for cockroaches 4 times a year. This is insane, you call to get a work order placed and the staff do nothing. And by nothing, they don't submit a work order... 3 times in a row. This place is a joke, with horrible staff who mess us maintence requests, which then they tell you its about a week every time. Which its been a month sense a requested on thing and they still haven't done it. Don't choose this, they charge service fees without doing service and living in other apartments versus this one, the electric is 5times bigger for some reason which makes absolutely no sense, first place I lived where electric is 120 a month even after turning everything off. Then turning everything on the electric is still the same....like a/c and heater don't change it at all, it makes no sense....sketchy at best

Our work orders were placed 20 days and 10 days ago with no fix. After 20 days in the Cambrian apartments, we have dealt with major issues related to maintenance. Our daughters were burned from the shower twice in the first week; the water will suddenly go from normal to scalding hot then to freezing cold every couple of minutes. We then dealt with a couple appliances not working at all, then they got replaced, then they stopped working again. All of the light bulbs are incandescent, instead of LED or florescent. Both of the towel rods were broken and worst of all the weather stripping is horrifically terrible. We have take several photos of our in-home thermometers showing 3-25 degrees by the window in our bedroom and 15-41 degrees by the back door. Not-to-mention the soundproofing is really bad; you can hear every breath someone takes in the hallway and every single movement by the occupants above.
New manager does a great job and takes care of any issues in a helpful and professional manner. Everyone in the office has been friendly and they do their best to assist you. Had to call maintenance a few times over a couple of years and they showed up very quickly and took care of my problems immediately. Everyone I dealt with there treated me with kindness and respect. When I had an issue with a noisy neighbor, it was dealt with immediately as well. You have to deal with the same issues at any apartment complex. Here, they will do everything in their power to help you and correct the problems. I had a 2 bedroom apartment and it was big compared to others in the same price range. Nice sized living room, adequate closet space, everything in livable condition and looked decent with new cabinets, floors, and appliances. Fresh paint (a nice neutral color not yucky white walls) and clean carpet. Well maintained overall. Stackable washer and dryer in unit was definitely a plus. Would definitely recommend!
If I could give this zero stars I would. We were flying blind as we weren’t visiting the area to apartment hunt prior to our move. We decided that previous reviews of Cambrian “couldn’t be that bad”. Upon arriving at the leasing office, they couldn’t find our apartment keys, didn’t have the pool & mailbox key. Our apartment key was finally found, but we were told we would have to come back later in the day to get the pool & mailbox key. We returned later that day to pick up the keys & were told they wouldn’t have either until early that week. We went back 4 times, over 2 weeks, finally got the pool key but were told the mailbox key could take up to 3 weeks. We went in & asked for a status update & they forgot about it; ended up speaking with a manager & got a key by the end of the day. That was only the beginning of our problems. When we moved in the hot/cold lines for the washer were switched, the oven door glass was broken so we could still use the oven just had to remember that the 400-degree oven glass was exposed. The master bathroom toilet was clogged & screen door was broken. All of the above were taken care of, but after a week of waiting. The icing on the cake comes next, we start to see these little bugs crawling around the kitchen & the bathrooms, we alerted the leasing office as soon as we saw them & found out they were cockroaches. The leasing office had an exterminator come & “treat” the apartment (the treatment seemed like he came in & sprayed Raid) they then fired that exterminator & hired a new one. They fired/hire a few more companies & then ended up rehiring the best company out of all of them. After 3 months of us complaining they sprayed the whole building. The exterminator said there is no reason we should have this problem with the treatments they are doing & us keeping the apartment so clean. When we talked to the leasing office they only could reassure us management is doing everything they could to fix the problem. Well 11 months later we are moving out but still have cockroaches. DO NOT MOVE HERE, unless you like bugs, the constant smell of weed, car alarms going off all the time, music blasting throughout the day/night, & children running up/down the stairs screaming at the top of their lungs. The leasing office never answers the phone, so don’t even bother calling with an issue. We did have an emergency issue with a leak and maintenance responded promptly, but besides that there is not much good about the place.
I am a current resident here and when i first moved in, you cold tell that they rushed to get my apartment ready. the carpet was put in lazily, there was paint splatter EVERYWHERE and we found HAIR PAINTED OVER INTO THE WALLS. They showed me a nice model unit, and when i got into my unit, it was trashed. Many of my neighbors have kids, which wouldn't be a huge deal, as long as i still got some peace and quiet. They run through the hallways of the apartments and they loiter on the stairs, keeping me from getting my groceries up to my third floor apartment. The grounds are not kept well, as owners do NOT pick up after their dogs, and trash cans are frequently left without bags in them at the park. I had to switch around my lease, my roommate couldn't even live here anymore, and they required 1500 to break the lease. Not to mention there is a Furry friend living in the space above us as it sounds like someone is stomping above us (We live on the third and top floor). They fail to mention at lease signing that you will never get adequate water heating, because there is one boiler for the whole building. I have burned my hands many times washing dishes, and my roommate has burn his legs due to water temperature. When we brought up the problem with the leasing office, we got SMILED at and LAUGHED at, saying "Everyone has that same problem. Don't worry you're not alone." I have had a child with nails through their feet because they stepped on an exposed Tac strip. This place is overall a bad complex, NOT worth the money you pay for rent.
These photos are lies! LIES! I have ten years of rental history and this is the first time I've had the wool pulled over my eyes to this extent. I was shown a very nice model unit and while I was walked about the lady talked about all the renovations throughout the community. There is a sign in the office about all the renovations, too. When I signed my lease I was given a couple price options and I asked what the difference was. I was told the difference was what floor I would be living on. Well my apartment is not renovated, there are dinner-plate sized stains on the carpet, the carpet is tearing, the kitchen counters are scraped, stained, and burned through, there are rust stains on my bathroom counter and tub, and I had to wash something yellow off my bathroom wall. NONE of the appliances are new. The stove is ancient and the old and frayed insulating tube had to be replaced before I felt comfortable turning it on. The apartment had been shoddily cleaned, if at all, before my move in. To top it all off, I've been here a week and haven't been comfortable staying here because of the RODENT in my ceiling. When pest control came, they left my attic door open when they were finished and large clumps of attic dust all over my closet. When I contacted management regarding what I feel was a bait and switch scheme they explained that not all apartments are renovated. Which was really the first I was hearing this truth. I was led into believing I was getting something far greater than what I received. When I first talked to the manager I could tell that she didn't believe it was as bad as it is but offered to do a walk through with me. Well they agreed to replace my counters and TRY to clean the carpet. I'm left with a trap in my attic that they will check once a week for my rodent friend. If you are not deterred by this post, at least walk around the grounds by yourself before you go in and ask to see the model. They will walk you up maintained stairs to the model and you won't get to see the loose stair banisters or the fire extinguisher cases (multiple) with broken glass. I have received nothing for my inconvenience and I am tired, stressed, and saddened by this entire experience.
I think the price is high for the square footage but they up keep the grounds and buildings very well!! They paint and pave every 2 years.
I have lived here since 2013 and have had minor problems. It is a typical apartment in that you will hear your neighbors doing something at some point even if they do not have kids. The staff is incredibly helpful and have always been respectful to me and my son. You are able to submit maintenance requests online but those can be hit and miss. I have submitted requests online and if the problem is not fixed within a 24 hour period, then I know my request became lost in cyberspace. It is better to just call or stop by the office and put your request in as it is guaranteed to get done. The office staff also call you the next day to confirm that the problem was fixed. The park is not so bad plus there is a public park right behind the complex. The pool is nice during the summer and the residents always seems to be respectful to others at the pool. The grounds upkeep is great and the maintenance staff work hard to keep it nice around here. I personally do not have noisy neighbors but I have heard some other people in other buildings be loud. If there is a problem and it is reported management is good about letting the resident know the problem in a decent amount of time.
The Cambrian Apartments located in the heart of Aurora CO i like to say, happens to be a wonderful place to call home. The rent is affordable but who would ever deny help for life. Its a very warm enviorment and is always upgraded to make residents feel up to par. Thank you for letting me call this place home! I love it here.
A week upon move in we got bed bugs, also during this time we were noticing what we thought were pincer bugs, but really turned out to be roaches. The place is infested, but you have to play $1500 to break the lease. They tried to have pest control come and spray, and after spraying twice a week for over 3 months, there was no change. DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO LIVE WITH ROACHES!
