Property Ratings at Cambridge Apartments
I lived in these apartments for nearly three years so I can say with experience do not move here. The only reason it was worthwhile to stay was that the apartment was roomy and the rent was cheap, can't say that's the case now considering they tried to raise my rent by 105 dollars. Don't let all their current maintenance work fool you, the apartments are still old and prone to issues. For the first two months I was in my current apartment I couldn't shower. I had to keep asking maintenance and the front desk people to fix the chipping and flaking in the bathtub, multiple times I was told they had filed for maintenance and multiple times I came back any they said there was never anything filed. Then came the multiple times my heater stopped working during winter, or the times my sink overflowed into the entire kitchen and out into the living room. They cut a hole in my kitchen wall to unclog the drain and that hole is still there now upon moving out despite literally telling the office about the issue. This last week was my final straw as they were replacing the windows in all of the units of which only two days notice was provided. I had to scramble to get everything out of the way while packing to move on top of working full time. When they finally arrived to work I had shut my cats in the bathroom to keep out of the way and I came back to the workers panicking and missed calls from the office because someone had let the cats out of the bathroom (which they denied) and they had nearly gotten out since I live on the first floor. Keep in mind there are no windows in my bathroom and no reason to enter it when completing this work. When I called the office to express my concern they were far more concerned with assuring me there had been "no other complaints" and trying to downplay what had occurred (namely the office manager Dawn). I understand this is a fairly personal review so it may not be relevant to everyone but I don't want other people to come here and have to experience the complete lack of care and greediness of this apartment complex. On a less personal note I also wanted to add that there is never any parking available, and that cars have been broken into multiple times on the property, some even totaled despite management claiming there is security that patrols the premises.
This is long but necessary! I’ve still on my first year here and I’m hoping to leave and find someplace better. When I went for my tour the employee didn’t even go with me to answer questions. She just gave me keys to the model and told me where it was. Then told me to bring the keys back when I was done looking. This was the first I’ve ever had this happened. The model was fine so I applied. They NEVER called me to tell me I was approved. I just noticed the ~$400 withdrawal from my bank a couple weeks later. I called to find what’s next. She said they had to tour my apartment to figure out when my move in date would be so that was still in the air. It took almost a month for me to get a move in date confirmed. They also made me sign my lease prior to my move in date and wouldn’t let me tour my apartment prior to signing the lease. They said that it was because people were still living there. But (as I learned in the lease) they only need to give 24 hours notice to occupants to tour their apartments. Since my deposit was non refundable at that point I was stuck. All of this before I even moved in. Move-in day came. My apartment wasn’t ready. Thankfully I wasn’t moving most of my items for a couple days. But as always I’m given a checklist and the place was a mess. The floor is uneven under the carpet. The cabinets in the kitchen are warped. The bathroom didn’t have a rod in it (for the shower curtain) nor did the coat closet. I tested the tub. It didn’t drain. I turned in my sheet and told them the maintenance issues that weren’t complete. On the day I was actually moving, the tub drain was pulled out and sitting on the counter covered in filth. Still didn’t drain. That got completed after several more days. Issues while living there: if you have rambunctious neighbors above you, you can hear them stomp around to the point it shakes your walls. You can also smell your other neighbors smoking pot in your apt cause the vents are all connected so even though the apts are “non-smoking”, they aren’t. You can try to call the office to file a complaint but they will never call you back. EVER. I have never in my entire relationship with this apartment received a call from them. My original review was too long so TLDR: maintenance is good. office sucks at communicating. The apts are literally falling apart. The pipes are so old you can hear your neighbors showering & flushing. Their rent increase is insane. Parking is a nightmare. And so much more!
They allow tenants to let their pets use the restroom on balconies and allow homeless people to live in the halls and laundry rooms. They don’t care about the safety of their tenants and if you complain you are made to feel unreasonable for bothering them. The people in the office won’t give out information needed to contact property owner. I absolutely would not recommend this place! Cars are broken into on a regular basis they don’t care about safety on any level. It is the new projects in Omaha
I like the intimate setting of only six apartments per enclosed area. Nice staff. Good maintenance. Pretty reasonable pet rent. Be careful if you get an apartment that borders the church. They throw random concerts so loud the floor vibrates and you can't turn up the tv loud enough to drown it out.
This is long but important if you're considering Cambridge. As of December 2018 I've lived here for roughly 4 years. It is an older complex and the interior of the apartments and rent amount reflects that. They did recently add new balconies which was a needed face-lift. Up until the last year things have gone pretty well and it's been a relatively quiet place to live. I've had very few maintenance issues and what I've had was handled quickly, even on the weekends. You have access to a pool during the summer along with an indoor pool at a neighboring complex. Now for the bad; in the last year I've had the license plates stolen off of my car and in the last 50 days my apartment has been broken into twice. Don't bother installing security cameras as the unlocked and completely accessible laundry rooms have master breaker switches labeled for each apartment so a flip of the switch and all your power is turned off including any cameras. I have been on a month to month basis since my original lease was up. I spoke with the manager Teresa (who is professional, courteous and has always done a great job, this isn't her fault it's the property owners) and explained that I had to move as I can't afford to keep paying insurance deductibles and I didn't feel safe or comfortable there. I also don't have any reasonable expectation of security as any security options I installed could be easily disabled. I was informed that I would be required to pay rent for the next 60 days with no exceptions unless they were able to rent it out before my 60 days was up. Not only do I have to pay deposits and rent at a new location, I will continue to have to pay rent at Cambridge. There was no offer to help in any way at all other than I could write a letter that they would send to the property owners asking for them to reconsider. Instead I decided it's better to just write a review so others can see what to expect. If you're looking to move into Cambridge make sure you have renters insurance along with receipts for all of your possessions. I would recommend considering somewhere more updated with better security. Make sure that your main breaker switches are behind a locked maintenance door. The rent amount is not much different from more updated apartments in the general area. I am moving out after 4 years of being a trouble free, paying on time tenant. It's simply not worth the risk of having your personal space violated and possessions you work hard to purchase stolen.

Thank you for taking the time to detail your concerns. We assure you that the comfort and well-being of all our residents are of the utmost importance to our team. Please understand that the location of the electrical panels in the common area are important so that they are easily accessible and power can be shut off in case of emergencies without restrictions or waiting for a door to be unlocked. Additionally, we haven’t had any other reported or documented apartment break-ins at our property recently or quite some time. Due to the nature of these concerns, we would like to discuss this with you directly. Please reach out to us at the Leasing Office or over the phone at (402) 331-2828 when you have the time. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to discussing this with you further. Thank you. - The Team at Cambridge Apartments
Then this place is for you. Three days in a row with 4 phone calls, nothing is done. You can hear that chirping throughout your apartment if you're on the same floor as it, so enjoy! My tub area must have been reworked prior to move in, they put in a faucet that made it impossible to use the shower for the first couple nights, it was a long weekend to wait until they could replace it. They promised they would install a light in my pantry prior to move in. I had to call about that. Maintenance brought me a pair of push button lights that didn't include batteries or the actual screws to install. Not a good solution to a lighting situation which depending on what is stored in your pantry may be needed often. I've been here for a couple months, I mostly like my apartment but these maintenance concerns really have me wondering if I made a bad choice. The area seems decent and quieter than the previous part of town I lived in. Grocery store is really close. A coworker of mine moved in to another building and hasn't had the maintenance issues but says the floor below him has a chirping smoke detector in the stairwell (he can't hear in his apartment), so if you're reading this, it's the luck of the draw. As for me, I pray the smoke detector's battery dies soon.
I was in a relationship for 22 years. Two years ago we separated. I thought how am I going to do this on my own. I looked at many places, some that were scary but I had no choice with my imcome. So depressed I thought what the heck im just going to look. I THOUGHT it was going to be out of my price range. I have been here for 2 years and will be signing another lease in September. I have a new life, have meet good friends. I feel safe and happy.
I love this apartment complex its conveinet to my bank , vet , friends and family there is so much around here places to go and eat and the space I have in my apartment is great I live in a 1 one bedroom ground level and for me to just put my dog on a leash and let him out is nice ... I have met some awesome ladys here to just my age there is 3 of us that are single ladys and in the evenings we sit outside and chat and chat our dogs play also we have each others phone numbers in case we need one another for something . The office people are very kind if there is a problem they get right on it never had a problem with anything. we have 2 pools and my grandkids love to come over and swim . I love my kitchen the best I have a huge pantry and a lot of cabinets.
Nice apartments and grounds. I've always felt safe and it's a pretty tame crowd here. Apartments are good size and maximizes the space you have! Only downfall is no washer/dryer in unit and no secured entry, also could use some upgrades in the buildings. Other than that we'be enjoyed living here, staff is nice and maintenance is quick and pleasant!
