Property Ratings at Cambridge Arms
ok, so I have an issue here every month, I have the 2 bedrooms, sink clogged a lot, sometimes dirty water comes from the sink out of nowhere, even not using it, apartment flooded almost every month, it takes forever to fix it. There was a mice issue, and took them more than 3 weeks to seal a hole, it was a 5 min job. They dont reimburse you anything, my microwave broke, the worst part was that dirty water was coming out of the ceiling and broke electric equipment and made all the kitchen stink. They didnt clean it, it was dirty brown water. Im used to cook my own food but now I have to spend money buying food outside. For real the apartment is uninhabitable. and yes it looks nice from the outside, but living here is a nightmare.
My guest parked across the street in the CVS parking lot on Polifly Rd when she woke up in the morning and looked across the road to the CVS parking lot. Her car was gone. At first we thought her car was stolen. We later discovered her car was towed to a Paterson NJ impound lot.. We had to cough up $275.00 for towing plus pay a $40.00 ticket to the town of Hackensack.
Too many emergency vehicles travel past this apartment building day and night.
Building is nice and quiet. No guest parking at all. The real downer is the roaches. Gross!
bed bugs break out every year. Cockroach and mouse you can even found in the hall wall. People steal your mail package. And the management eats all your security deposit no matter how hard you clean the apartment and turn the key in on time. Very frustrating to live in there. Moved out!
NOT WORTH IT . No parking for guest of tenants No street parking for tenants. You must illegally park in CVS pharmacy parking-lot. The city of Hackensack does not allow overnight street parking for Cambridge Arms residents. Parking for Cambridge Arms is for one tenant with a parking sticker. Management will have your car towed without the parking sticker. There has recently been horrific car accidents, and pedestrians/car accidents directly in front of Cambridge Arms apartments. According to the Bergen record several pedestrians have recently been struck by cars on polifly rd just feet from Cambridge arms front door. When you stand on the side walk waiting to cross polifly rd, moving cars, trucks and buses come only inches from your body. You can feel a gust of wind and the ground vibrate with each passing vehicle. It is the most nerve racking experience crossing polifly rd especially if your children cross the road to buy something in CVS or play in the park. You will dread the thought of your family members crossing the 4 lane polifly rd which is like a highway were vehicles often exceed the 35 mile per hour speed limit. Knowing how many horrific accidents have accrued in the same spot you and your family are waiting to cross is a nightmare and you will crave with all your heart and soul to move as far away from this miserable and depressing apartment building as soon as possible. You will say a prayer of relief each time you and your family make it across the busy road alive. Good luck!!
Reviewed 11/17/2019 There's no air conditioning in this over half a century year old roach, mice, rat and bedbug infested building or the gloomy unsafe elevator during the summer months. The temperature in the building becomes swelteringly hot. The air stifling and stagnant. You will feel like you are baking in an oven especially on the upper floors and inside the elevator. Tenants and delivery people continually complain about how hot it is inside the building and the elevator while sweat beads off their foreheads and drips off their arms. Their complaints are ignored. When you walk out of your roach and insect infested air conditioned apartment you are hit by a burst of heat coming from the unair-conditioned hallways. The stench of body Oder and sweat lingers in the unsafe elevator long after it's empty. Toilets drainage is very slow. The parking lot becomes a lake when it gets flooded during and after it rains despite the new pavement, forcing tenants to park illegally in the CVS parking lot across the road and risk getting a parking ticket, Then they must risk their live crossing the dangerous Polify rd where several pedestrians have been hit by cars. The same goes for the winter season,as It becomes extremely hazardous and nearly impossible to get up the icy hill of the parking lot. CVS pharmacy across the street has every car ticketed for parking on private property during snow days.
just one old elevator that seems like it will break down any moment. the halls and elevator have wall to wall stained carpeting. More and more low class rude people are moving in to the building every month. dealing with management is a nightmare. really this is place is a disgusting and terrible place to live.
save yourself misery dont rent an apartment at 100 polifly rd hackensack nj
I see a prior comment that the management staff and supers were poor. I completely disagree!!! I rented a studio apartment there last summer and very recently moved out. I have to say that from the very beginning of the process, I was extremely pleased with the quality of the management and the building. The management staff at the main street office in Hackensack was very courteous, responsive, and accommodating, especially Roxana. She was a gem to work with, remembered who I was when I called and was extremely professional and friendly. If I left a message, she would call me back either that day or the next. And regardless of what anyone says, I found the building to be spotless ... and I'm a neat freak. The supers keep it extremely clean, and even the garbage area in the basement was clean and organized. I especially loved having a washing machine and dryer on EACH FLOOR! The residents were surprisingly quiet and polite as well. One thing I totally loved was the commute to NYC. The bus stops right across the street! It took me about 30-40 min to get to the PA and less than 20 min to get home. That was great! My only criticism was that the garage space I got was too small. That's about it honestly. Honestly, were I not relocating out of state, I would have gladly rented a three bedroom unit there without thinking twice. Great experience for me.
Thought moving in this building was the best decision I made it looked nice and the neighborhood is peaceful but the new management is the worst is building. The super always does quick fixes, the property manager you can never get in touch with to solve no complaints the plumbing is bad, they always doing new things to the building that makes it look like nice which always alters and messes up something else, the super doesn't answer his phone, he has a horrible horrible attitude. Honestly I'm just glad I'm out of there.
Nice windows Bright Space Management is nice and the area is calm
If you like bright apartments; you will enjoy living in this roomy studio apartment perfect for house plants and because of the sunlight you will always have a tendency to feel happy!!! The kitchen has beautiful spacious wooden cabinets, granite counter top, and stone tiles for the kitchen floor. I have been living in my studio apartment for a year. I prefer a one-bedroom apartment but right now I am not employed full time thus the reason why I moved into a studio apartment. Management is renovating the building, I believe all the rugs should be removed from all floors and the elevator and use lenolium like they did on the lower lobby. It would be a dream to be able to live rent-free for a while to be able to save money!!! Thank you!??
