Laurel enjoys a unique position roughly halfway between DC and Baltimore, and its relative seclusion makes it an attractive option for commuters who work in either city but prefer a small-town home environment. The close proximity to Fort Mead also makes Laurel a popular option for Department of Defense employees and military personnel seeking off-base housing.
The cost of living is rather affordable, and apartments tend to rent for much more reasonable rates than closer to the major cities nearby. While almost exclusively residential, Laurel does feature a handful of large shopping centers along its major roadways as well as a quaint Main Street district, the perfect place to grab a cup of coffee in a friendly café before heading off to work.

Property Ratings at Crossings at Russett
Star is a great leasing agent. That is all I can say positive. The lack of care about maintenance makes me regret my decision to move here. It has been 2 weeks and it is like pulling nails to get anything fixed that was already supposed to be fixed. You can barely ever talk to an actual manager and if you do, things still don't get done. Apartments are cute but not well maintained by property.

It’s a nice complex, apartment maintenance is a hit or miss. Great area to be in and commute options, no crimes. Grass area should be cut more often. Rent increases every year. Moments when water is off for hours at least twice a year.

Since my initial move here over a decade ago, I have enjoyed the people working and living in my community. For me, the location has been essential for my business days and now my free time!

In January, we were looking for a new home and encountered Star who assisted us with a tour and we immediately fell in love with the property based off the tour alone. We put our application in and the process was hassle free and smooth with ample communication. The property manager Tabatha was great to work with to accommodate our needs and expectations for our new home. When we moved in there were a couple small maintenance issues however within a week they were all resolved by their productive and speedy maintenance team. This community is by far the best community I have encountered living in Maryland (I'm not from here) as it is well maintained, quiet, and in a very serene area. It's a little pricey however it checked all our boxes and with the team managing and maintaining the property it is worth the extra spend.

Hi - thanks for letting us know we went Beyond Expectations! We'll be sure to share with the team here at The Crossings at Russett! What a lovely thing to say! We appreciate you so much. Hope to see you soon, friend!
Keep your place as nice as you can. Lord forbid anything happens and you have to deal with the team they have. Management is not helpful. Maintenance take awhile, but at least they're nice. So I guess that counts for something. Nice place if you don't ever have any kind of issues, eeeever.

Moving here was the worst decision of my life. Office staff are rude, nasty and unprofessional. So many problems. They don’t fix anything until you complain for 4 months.

Hello, I have placed countless of maintenance request in person, phone, and on the app. No one ever shows/ed up to complete the request. I don’t think it’s fair when we are all paying rent and need assistance with the apartment per the lease. Service was not like this in the beginning when I first moved in. But now, requests say completed when it isn’t. Dishwasher hasn’t drained in weeks after several cycles to do it myself. Linen and laundry closet door keeps falling off. We pay wayyyy too much money to experience this. Please let’s fix this, this place is great to live. I just don’t know what’s the problem. Thank you

I’m a new resident and do not feel like I was fully equipped with all the amenities and knowledge that the community has to offer. I just signed my lease and given the keys. I wasn’t even told what days to sat my trash out. I will say that the community itself is well kept, it’s very quiet and the neighbors I’ve met are very friendly.

Hello, thank you for sharing your positive experience! If you ever need anything else from us, please feel free to give us a call or stop by. Have an awesome day! Tabatha Wall
This complex has fees for everything. They love to call these luxury apartments, but they are trash. You are forced to pay for a trash valet service that doesn't come 2 days out of the week and they pick and decide when they want to take your trash out. If you are teleworking, this is not the place for you. They force you to pay for cable within your rent (over $100 now) and the wifi is almost always out. As I'm working from home right now, I have to use my hotspot because the connection is terrible. What am I paying for at this point?
If I could afford to break the lease I would. Horrible experience so far. Every month the total cost of living goes up. They tack on fees everywhere they can. I moved in with an agreement that cable and internet were paid for by the complex now they are making us pay over $100 for it. Trash is collected from your front door and they tell you the cost is $30, but you can’t opt out and I’ve never paid less than $45 for it due to “Extra fees we don’t control” they charge you a fee for the “convenience” of adding the water and sewer bill onto your lease. I know it’s not the leasing agents fault the overall company will squeeze every penny out of you. Horrible corporate management.
Just very unprofessional, rude and all out not a great company to deal with.

When I moved in a year ago, I wanted to move out immediately. I had issues in my unit and had to wait over a week to get a maintenance person in. The person came while I was at work and claimed to have fixed all the issues. I had to call Alyeisha (who is amazing) to come and look at the unit with the maintenance guy. The next day they fixed the issues and I had an issue with my door knob being hard to open. They fixed the issue but changed the lock without notifying about the key change. After working 10 hours that day I was pretty mad I had to go to the leasing office for the key. They should have called me. The leasing office was about to close so I was lucky I got their in time. After the initial issues were fixed, I was happy here. The space is sufficient. Washer and dryer in the unit. The appliances and kitchen need updating but does the job. This place is close 295 and 95, location wise perfect. They are pet friendly also. The leasing staff is amazing and friendly. The past six months have been a disaster. New neighbors are noisy, dirty, and let their kids run around on the floor. The parking lot and front lawn have garbage all over the place. Parking is terrible after 8pm. They have visitor and resident parking, the only issue is that there is more visitor spots than resident. There has been some break ins, car vandalism, and muggings. The Walmart and surrounding area attracts unwanted foot traffic and the undesirables. The community alerts everyone but has not increased security. I saw a cop once patrolling once. Honestly, this place isn't so bad. The problem is that Camden is not doing anything to protect their residents. Nor are they doing anything about the loud/dirty residents.

DO NOT!!! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! This area is riddled with crime. There have been multiple break ins, break in attempts, armed robberies, car jackings, broad daylight, all times of the day. The management is not doing anything. My family was robbed months ago and nothing was done!! There are no security measures being taken. Renters and home owners are being victimized WEEKLY!!! I don't understand why this is not in any of the reviews. The neighborhood has so many homeless people living in tents behind Walmart and in the several motels down the street. People are begging for money in the parking lots. This area is not safe!! NOT SAFE!! All the rent we pay and there is no security. There was a townhall meeting and all these promises were made. Save yourself the trauma and stress!!!

This is a great place to stay if you work or hangout in DC or Baltimore. With each city being a thirty minute ride away , the suburban community you will call home is quite and tranquil. This is a well kept community that offer walking trails, close proximity shopping and entertainment. The apartments are well kept; and property management is quickly responsive to any issues. I can't really ask for more

I have lived here for almost 6 years. There are two sides, older and newer and I have lived on both. On the older side the grounds within the buildings aren't kept up especially in comparison to the newer side. Maintenance is relatively fast. Rent and service requests are submitted online. They have guest and visitor parking but instead of towing issue warnings. Kitchen and bathroom Appliances could possibly use updating but are not bad. They also have apartments with fireplaces. The kitchens are pretty small but on the newer side have nice sized bathrooms and bathtubs. The people in the rental office are friendly and the amenities are decent. Neighborhood is nice and quiet and walking distance from shopping areas. Haven't heard of or experienced any crime and pets are allowed and do not leave a mess.

You cannot sleep, nap, relax , or watch tv , if u have infants they will never sleep, its like living on construction site, neinhbour very loud , dupming jumping running , the apt like made of cardboard very thin , and they allow family of 6 to live in 2 bedroom apt, too many break in, too many car break in , for the amount im paying i should be able to at least sit in peace..

This place is actually okay. However, if you don't rent when they have a special it cost more than its worth. If you own a Honda Civic it will get broken in to. Comcast is mandatory (they suck). Make sure you pay attention, despite all the criminal activity no security mirrors have been put up or increase in security driving around.

This is a great family filled neighborhood that offers easy access to the highway and the Arundel Mills Mall. The neighborhood is very well maintained and offers great jogging/walking paths year round. The pool and apartment facilities are very nice as well. The few times that I needed minor maintenance, the maintenance staff was extremely helpful and made sure that the job was completed quickly.
