Property Ratings at Cameron South Park
It takes a while for the office to reply to messages or phone calls. Sometimes is like there is no one at the office. I have stopped by and they are choosing not to answer phones. There are some issues with roaches and they do not care. But one of the most frustrating thing is they add the FETCH Package delivery to your rent and it sucks. They lose packages, they deliver to wrong apartments, they show up late, they are a terrible service. The office blames them and do not take responsabilty for packages. But the office has a contract with them, so why not do something about it? This place is frustrating. Read reviews in other sites and you'll see what I mean.

It's a quiet place with safe neighbourhood. Staff at the leasing office are very kind and helpful. It is close to my work and grocery stores. My wife and I are happy to live here.

Thank you so much for your excellent feedback about your living experience at Cameron South Park. We appreciate it and so glad our leasing team has been able to provide you with top-notch customer service. Thank you for choosing to make your home here with us.
Please dont move here! I thought it would be a safe place because of location but it is NOT. there are always cars being broken into, and there were a man who lived in my apartment building who had been arrested 8 times for breaking & entering, stalking, communicating threats and very serious charges and they still let him live there! This man really scared be and I was constantly feeling unsafe; he even threatened my boyfriend for looking at him the wrong way. Eventually he pulled A KNIFE out on my other neighbor and was arrested. Only to be released BACK to the apartment. The leasing office does nothing about it and I am so tired of feeling unsafe., especially being a woman. Not to mention, there was no pest control and there were constantly leaks in my apartment.

Worst ever move in experience. Apartment not clean , several leakages , big size bus can be seen easily. Basic pest control not provided. Required several follow ups and calls to get service request done. Office staff is requires multiple calls as they will not pick up the phone.

I'm going on my 4th year of living in this apartment complex. I haven't had any issues until the last couple months. Our pool was supposed to open for Memorial Day, just like all other pools. On 5/17/17 we got an email stating "We know many of you are anxious to get out to lounge at the pools this season. Well worry no more because our pools will be re-opening Memorial Day weekend!" Then on 5/26/17 right before the holiday we got an email saying "Due to inclement weather over the past few days, we will not be able to open the pool for the holiday weekend. We do apologize for this matter and any inconvenience this may cause for weekend plans. We will be working diligently to get this taken care of so we can open up the pool in the next week or so. We thank you for your patience in this matter and appreciate you working with us on getting this taken care of in a timely manner!" Not a big deal, right? Well it's 7/1/17 and our pool STILL isn't open. Some of you might think, still not a big deal. This place has been totally unreliable and flaky with answers and help. This isn't the first incident and I know it's not entirely their fault BUT don't tell us it'll open in a week or so.... it's been a MONTH. In between I've called and emailed a few times to ask about an expected date of when it'll open and gotten responses such as "We have inspections scheduled.. If all goes well we should open by..." and "We will hopefully get the pool inspected tomorrow... and it should be open after that." Very frustrating. Summer break is 1/2 way over and I'm paying for this amenity that I'm not even able to use.

This is an overpriced apartment complex! Everything is a cost, cable is forced on you for $100 a month! It's not terribly cable but when the same company sends you a cheaper deal like 29.99 v $100 a month!! This place has problem with bugs! Roaches are in the walls! Gross! This south park and they claiming that it's due to water leaks. Everything is the past company : Connor group fault! The management staff is not helpful at all! Not willing to listen or understand the problem at hand! By far worst apartment complex in history. We moved from Texas to North Carolina. Don't sign anything until you actually tour your apartment! Needless to say we are out at the end of our lease!

I moved into this complex in July 2016. They advertise this property as being renovated, but it is the dumpiest apartment I have ever lived in. I viewed a one bedroom and the actual apartment I moved into looked nothing like the model I was shown. I had problems from day one. The apartment was dirty. There was no shower-curtain rod in the master bath and the medicine cabinet was broken. The state of the bathroom was gross. The ceiling showed evidence of a leak and you could see the mold growing. I was told it was just cosmetic because it was an old building. It was not addressed properly until Feb/March 2017. There was a leak and it took an act of God to get them to repair it properly. The drains in both bathroom sinks were broken. Within a week, my washing machine leaked. It took over a week to have that addressed, and I couldn't wash clothes within that time. The garbage disposal didn't work properly and it took two maintenance trips to get that fixed. I was promised a garage to park my car in and it took three months to get a garage door opener. My hot water heater died, and they were going to let me go more than 24 hours before they repaired it. I had to be a major witch to get them to replace so I would have hot water. The complex was previously owned by Connor Group, but Bell Properties took it over and they are NO better. They allow tenants to stack their garbage outside the doors of their apartments instead of taking it to the dumpster, which brings me to the biggest problem. There have been roaches in my apartment since the day I moved in. This is THE WORST place I have ever lived. I have actually contacted an attorney who deals with tenant landlord issues. They have posted lovely pictures of what apartments supposedly look like, but I guarantee the only one that looks like that is the one they took the photos in. You absolutely do not want to lease here.
Friendly service and fast response to questions and applications. Kristi was most courteous and efficient in processing our application.
I am on my third lease with a Alexander Place. I chose Alexander Place due to it being extremely close to my job. My first apartment was not flipped and cleaned nor was it anything close to what I toured- mind you I relocated from Virginia so I did not see the actual apartment I would be moving into. Long story short, I had to clean my own apartment and place numerous repair orders. The most management could to do was reimburse me for the cleaning items I purchased. I had no other issues with this apartment but wanted to downsize to a one bedroom. I was of course able to see the actual apartment I would be moving into and requested that the bath tub be resurfaced. On the day of my move in, the bathroom had not been resurfaced. Later on, I placed the order for the resurfacing to be done (when I was able to NOT use the bathtub for 3 days). After coming back from out of town, the tub looked even worse than it did prior to it being "fixed". Jennifer has seen the tub and again asked that the maintenance order be placed when I'm away and not able to use it for 3 days. Not only is the tub an issue but the cheap "upgrades" are barely staying in tack. At this point, the tub and the upgrades are the least of my worries when there are cock roaches and waterbugs greeting me and my guests at the stairs. I noticed that pest control sprays my neighbors home weekly but they are still appearing in their home as well in the stairway of our building. I did not see the roaches and waterbugs until this past March and they are almost guaranteed to be there daily since then. I am glad to say I do not have pest issues inside my apartment but again, who wants their guests to be greeted at the stairs by those bugs. If you are trying to save money, then by all means expect to pay for what you get.
I've lived here for two years and WILL NOT be renewing my lease! 1. For a year and half I've had cockroaches issues. I'm an OCD clean freak, so you can imagine how traumatic this has been! Not one, or two, or three or four roaches, but dozens and dozens. I find them in my cabinets walking across my dishes, flying through my living room while eating dinner, inside my sink cabinets and the worst of all, one ran across my barefoot. Alexander Place has put me on the Pest Control list, for spraying every week when the problem started a year and a half ago. This is about as useless as the Pest Control company themselves. They spray weekly, using a spray that only needs to be sprayed once every 3 months and guess what? Cockroaches are still getting in. To make matters worse, Alexander Place keeps telling me these are "palmetto bugs" as if that is supposed to make it better. I know the difference between a palmetto bug and a cockroach. I've gotten pictures, have countless emails and phone calls and they seem to act like this isn't a problem. Today they told me, "oh, you only have to be concerned with the small german cockroaches, because they bring their friends"...NO. I need to be, and they need to be with ANY pest inside. Also, pest control found rat feces in my bathroom. Alexander Place has told me over and over, there's no way they can seal the whole apartment, and that living in wooded areas do this. WRONG. 2. Maintenance is ridiculously slow, and usually shows up DAYS after they said they would. 3. The front office always uses the excuse "we have someone new working here and they must have gotten lost on the property"... Really? Same excuse time and time again. 4. Front office staff is rude. 5. They will raise your rent and you will lose amenities. Car wash station? Gone. Vacuum station? Gone. Your cable works only half the time, but you pay for it all the time... SPARE YOURSELF AND MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE!
I've lived at Alexander Place since 2006 and consider this my home. Jenn and Kristi are awesome and are always there when I have a question. The apartment upgrades are so beautiful and really enhance my experience. I would highly recommend Alexander Place. --JHix
I am moving into Alexander Place this weekend, I am so excited. I have a friend who currently lives here and she reccomended I live here too. Jenn and Kristi in the office have been extremely helpful, and friendly. All emails have been returned promptly and all my questions have been answered. The one complaint I have heard from other tenants is the maintenance team is slow and it takes a while to get things fixed. Overall I am very excited to live here!
the only reason this place has any good reviews is because they give residents a gift card when they first move in. & they probably give themselves good reviews. But we never got one because we've been complaining since day 1. First they tried to get us to sign the lease online without even showing us the apartment. Then when doing the walk through I asked them who painted & who cleaned because there were spots all on the walls, spider webs with dead bugs in them. within 24 hours of being in the apartment the toilet flooded because the previous tenant flushed a bottle of lotion. In the first week our kitchen was infested with ants & it took them 3 weeks to actually put us down for pest control(confirmed by the company that comes out weekly to spray the buildings). We've seen many cock roaches on the inside of our apartment, not to mention the stair cases are always swarming with them. I went out to the grill one night in the main office pool area & infestation isn't even the word I can use to describe how many were out there. In my first month of living here I had 8 work orders for simple things that should've been fixed before allowing someone to move in. It's clear that my apartment wasn't flipped at all. & Jenn has zero concern about it. She's rude, her sense of urgency doesn't exist, & worst of all she's a liar. You have to physically go to the office to get your point across. On top of all my issues I've met several neighbors that have had similar issues from the ants, roaches, even mice. Stay far away from this place, you'll regret it. Zero stars
I've never written a review before, but I feel strongly enough and want to advise all who are considering Alexander Place, to take my experience into account. In reading through many of these reviews, they seem to reflect those who have recently moved in so I wanted to provide a broader scope. As a four year resident of Alexander Place, a general sense of security is a major issue. During my time there, my next door neighbors had their apartment searched by police; multiple cars were broken into; there was an armed robbery and finally, my car was stolen. Also of note - as soon as I decided to move out, the attitude of Jenn changed like a light switch. Her timeliness, flexibility, and general respect existed no longer. As a long-time resident, I would have loved to recommend Alexander Place, but unless you're looking for high move-out fees and and an unsafe community, I would advise against it.
Don't move here. I have lived here for several years (I am not renewing my lease), even before The Connor Group bought the property. Ever since The Connor Group bought the property it has gone downhill. There is almost no communication from the office staff, or the communication is inaccurate. (I have emails to prove this.) My building has lived without outside lighting for 3 and 1/2 weeks and we keep being told "it will be fixed tomorrow". The stairwells are pitch black, dangerous, and nothing is being done about it. You are FORCED to have Time Warner Cable while living here and HAVE to pay $99. a month for it. Not including the cable box or dvr. You also have to pay an additional $80. a month for trash, pest control (which they do not control), and water. That's $180. above their outrageous rents. The maintenance work here is awful. I was forced to have my apartment "upgraded" with new tile, kitchen cabinet doors, and back splash. They have come over 6 times to fix the subway tile back splash because they keep falling off. I keep a growing stack of tiles because they have never been able to successfully fix the tiles. This "upgrade" happened while I was living here so I had to empty all the kitchen cabinets and the maintenance worker used my a/c, power, and water to complete his shotty work. Of course, I was never offered compensation for that. I also could not use my kitchen while the "upgrade" was happening. The management here has offered residents, such as myself, gift cards to write reviews for Alexander Place. I declined. Be wary of positive review. I gave Alexander Place one star because apartments.com would not let me give zero stars. Don't move here.
Lived there for 2 years. While I tell you this; know that I have documents to prove any part of this claim. I never missed a rent payment, had any issues and I left the apartment very clean. I was the perfect tenant. After following the 60 day notice period. I never received my $929 deposit, accounting of my deposit, copy of my move out inspection or any explanation as to why I was not receiving my money back as I met the terms of the rental contract. After many calls to Management and to The Connor Group in Ohio (their corporate office); I did get a partial refund and a copy of an inspection report that was basically fraudulent. I am in small claims court with them now and the case has been continued twice. I will keep going back and look forward to bringing this practice to light. There are laws in NC that protect the tenant/ client relationship and my money and I will be sure to have a judge see my documents and photos. All that said; if you do business with them; know you may never see your deposit again. If you can accept that fact; you will most likely have a decent place to live. Of course; there are more honest people out there that can provide the same. I look forward to issuing a report once this case finally gets heard in the next 2 weeks.
Our apartment was completely updated, has an amazing open concept, great privacy off of our open deck in the back, and the amenities are well kept and never over crowded. The staff is very friendly and the maintenance crew has always been professional and efficient. The apartment complex is located in a wonderful upscale neighborhood and it's just 10 minutes from uptown Charlotte.
