Property Ratings at Cannon Court Apartments
Bluestone and Hockley is horrible! These apartments are infested with bed bugs and mold! Horribly maintained and not a good place to live. Worst rental experience of my life.
I am the longest living resident here at Cannon Court Apartments. The reasons I have stayed so long is the place is almost perfect for me. Cannon Court is close to Lancaster Drive, Commercial Street and I-5 entrances/exits. Restaurants are easy to get to as are grocery stores, the state fairgrounds and Bush Park. The schools are decent as far as I know with South Salem High School just about a mile from the apartments. Cannon Court is usually a quiet place. The apartments are well built so most noise stays in its own apartment. All windows are new so that cuts down on noise and heating/cooling bills. There is a good mix of residents. Some with and without kids. Some married and some not. As for the few things I don’t like they are usually not much of an issue. The first is the apartments have gas stoves. Personally I can’t cook with gas. The second is the apartments are on a small side street. During winter, snow and ice build-up can make it hard to get out onto 12th Street. This is not a big issue if you know how to drive in snow and ice. My third issue is my biggest issue. Sometimes neighbors have loud parties. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does it is really annoying.
The complex has a very diverse group of people living here. I would give the complex a four star if it was only about the tenants. Most everyone gets along great. I love the upgrades the owner has done since he bought the place. New window and sliding glass doors, New furnace, New paint job and we are in the middle of getting new decks. All this things should get a 5 star rating but all the management stuff turns this place in to a two star rating. Since the owner hired blue stone and hockely, to run this complex we have gone throw 3 apartment managers. The current one is very nice but he manages 5 other properties for the company. This translate into our complex not getting the attention it needs. When the apartment gets advertised for rent they lie and state we have an on site manager and when we don't have one. All of the apartments look different on the inside. Only one apartment has a washer and dryer in their unit. Some have hardwood and others have carpet. We have rules we all agreed to on our lease. Tenants break these rules all the time simply cause no one is around to enforce them. The biggest being the supervision of children. Second being the grills. We are allowed propane and not charcoal. A lot of the tenants have charcoal grills and use them. I could keep going on about the rules being broken but will not bore you to death with them. The last things I will say about the complex is something people should hear. Recently one of the tenants had to have one of her feet off. The complex management company will not allow her to have either a step or a ramp attached to the apartment for safety. They said that they would not even let her do it even if she pays for it. The have made her a prisoner in her home because she is trapped in her lease. Another tenate has rented her apartment for ten years and her health has gone down hill and could really use a down stairs apartment. They will not let her move apartments to a down stairs unit. The reason was they didn't want to have to do maintenance on the apartment they would be moving from. She is also stuck in her lease. I hope this helps in making your decision on renting at cannon court apartments or from bluestone and hockely.
I have lived here for 4years as of the 4th of this month of August. It is really close to everything and especially close to the school where I do my school crossing. I would recommend these apartments to all my friends and family.
