Situated alongside Interstate 695 just northeast of Baltimore, Rossville residents enjoy easy access to the beautiful views and beaches along the Chesapeake Bay, as well as the convenience of the nearby retail mecca of White Marsh. This peaceful and community-driven residential area makes a great place to raise a family while still enjoying all of the conveniences of the nearby city with only a 25-minute drive to the culture of Baltimore. Upscale, modern apartments share the street with more modest townhomes and single-family rentals, making Rossville a surprisingly diverse rental market despite its small size.

Property Ratings at The Apartments at Canterbury
I’ve lived here for a year. The apartments are nothing special. They take forever for maintenance. A lot of the appliance are broke when you move in…the front door locks are broke and many of time i wasn’t able to leave out because we were locked from the inside. Call many times and no one came To fix the problem. A neighbor had to jump off his porch or climb through the window. That’s a safety hazard. The washer are broke and not working. I feel like these apartments are over priced. The gym needs update those machines are trash. They claim they do t receive payments from their online portal. They dont respond to emails They make you sign a lease in January so you can be stuck in a trap. Just find somewhere else because you’ll save yourself a headache. The leasing office is a joke. You’ll have to go see them because they always saying they’re not there. Save all your receipts and documents because they lie and play games.
DO NOT MOVE HERE! Every 5 star review you see is a fake. This is by far the WORST place i have ever lived in. THIS PLACE IS INFESTED WITH MICE.. I found an extremely lazy low effort attempt to address the issue by them using cheap foam to seal a huge space between the wall, behind the oven. Of course, the mice chewed through it, they did not clean behind the oven, it is disgustingly filthy. There are now mice droppings under my fridge, inside the bottom of the fridge, in my closets, behind my furniture etc. There are gaps where they simply stuffed cotton balls, yes, cotton balls to fill the space. I called multiple times over a week to the leasing office with nobody picking up. I had to walk in to address the issues and they showed absolutely no concern or had any apology for the situation, like it was a routine situation, and tells me they'll have an exterminator come out in 2 days. I've lived in rural locations w/ a higher chance of field mice, and have NEVER had and issues like this. The grounds are full of trash and dog crap, the laundry area is filthy, washers a broken and have stagnant sitting water, the dog waste bins haven't been emptied in over a month, the walls are thin, there are no exterior cameras. I'm pretty sure they don't actually even clean the place and instead just paint over it. There is paint melting on the walls of the tub. I've been here barely a month a someone has already broke my car mirror. The neighboring tenants are inconsiderate and blast their music as if they're in a single-family home, and the place consistently smells like weed. They knowingly lease this place out with all of these issues and act like everything is sweet. Not even 2 months in and I'm counting down the days til this lease is up. Horrible experience. If I could give 0 stars I would. Awful place
Water is always out, no heat or air conditioning (they still use boilers) so you can only use them when the landlord allows you to. Trash all over the outside with rats, break in and loud outside at night.
Move in was quiet that easy thanks to Gina and her entire leasing team, they were very helpful and accommodating, we appreciate the hospitality accorded us. I won’t hesitate to link anyone with this property. Collins Yussif
Please don’t move here unless you like roaches or mice they constantly shut the water off without any notice folks ringing your doorbell all, hours a night maintenance is awful leasing offices awful so unprofessional.
Been here 2 years already and it’s a quiet community. Just want to mention how Daryl from maintenance is great and efficient! We appreciate him very much!
Leasing Team of Gina & Nina were awesome. The move in was super smooth. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Nice and Quiet Apartment Complex. Very nice staff.
Gina was very helpful in expediting my move in! and very courteous/professional throughout the process
Water shut offs frequently, Mice, trash removal is HORRIBLE.. trash always all over the grass and street. This place is a JOKE. It may look nice but it’s not worth it. I can’t wait to move !!
Ever since we ve moved in its been a nightmare! Dishwasher was not properly connected -we got flooded on our first day. ac stopped working -we had to boil in 90 degree weather for 5 days , then once AC was"fixed" it stared to leak all over carpeting-so it had to be removed and dried for like 2 weeks, which means we could not use that room (much needed) Then the building CONSTANTLY was doing piping repairs -so our water kept being cut off prob like 10 times for days at the time. Hot water did not work- we had to go shower at LA fitness! We also had mice infestation! Just ridiculous! now can't even break the contract and get out of this
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We caught 15 mice in our tiny apartment within a two month time period. We complained multiple times but they refused to treat the entire building. Since the whole building was infested (we could hear them in the walls), it did no good just spraying our apartment. The maintenance is slow, water breaks often, and washing machines are nasty. Our apartment constantly smelled like weed and the people in the main office could care less. The people in the leasing office are so rude and incompetent. Worse experience I’ve ever had.
The majority of office staff is horrible, especially the manager who sounds angry whenever you talk with her on the phone. I’ve asked the manager to have the assistant manager call me back about rental payment questions and never heard back. The manager had such an attitude on the phone that it was apparent that she didn’t pass on my callback request to the assistant. Anytime I’ve called with questions, they act like you’re being a nuisance and would say anything to get off the phone quickly. Very unpleasant experience.
When I first moved to Canterbury, the grounds were nicely kept. However, now there is very little attention to the appearance of shared spaces. They are rarely cleaned and reek of a trashy odor. For those conditions, you might as well get a cheaper apartment. Management is terrible and barely make time for you. They act like they are inconveniencing them if you have a slight issue or need something. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere where you are valued. Tenants are leaving at record rates.
Have had nothing but trouble since we moved in. Everything told to us in the interview was a lie. They do nothing they say they do Uphold no policies. the grounds are trashy and unkept. The grass is hardly ever done right. Probably why they show up after the office is closed. (not that the office ever inspects anything). Maintenance is practically a joke. The either don't fix it, don't know how to fix it, or don't bother showing up. There is no communication either. I guess as long as the money is coming in they really don't care if anyone stays. Unruly neighbors, not their problem. dog crap everywhere not their problem. trash everywhere, not their problem. For the money you spend to live here, you would expect a heck of a lot better service. Keep your money and find a better place. But if you don't listen, you'll regret it. Wish I could give negative stars
I am in customer service. In essence I look for great customer service. Your representatives answer the phone as if potential tenants are a nuisance to them. Residence should be happy with their new home; yet a consumer should dare have questions for your staff. Some consumers do not live in the area or the same state where your properties are. It would be great for your staff to understand this and to be have a little more empathy when trying to get pricing and an idea of what selection is best for them
I have fleas from God knows where and I feel the leasing just dont care. The first day I called to report it’s something biting me and the leasing agent said pest control will come out the next day . Now if you know anything about bed bugs or fleas you have to move fast because they will reproduce quickly. Furthermore, they sent out a bed bug agent who couldn’t find anything but I’m not surprised because I told them the bug jumped and it was black . The bed bug lady advised she would send a pest guy out to treat the apartment for general bugs..( Two days later)The pest guy said you have fleas not bedbugs and he will let the rental know so he can set up a treatment. No call has been made . Any-who , nothing was found but I still had bites and Im washing clothes everyday and buying stuff off the internet to kill the fleas. The leasing office has not called me with an update to let me know about getting my apartment treated. Now I know it’s not their fualt that my apartment has fleas but the moral of my story is their customer service is poor.
Terrible place to live, extremely poor management and very lazy and unreliable maintenance! I’ve had so many issues after only being here for 6 months, worse place I’ve ever lived. The only good thing about it is the location but there’s so many other complexes near here that I wish I would have chosen before signing this lease!
Property Manager at The Apartments at Canterbury, Responded To This Review
I'm so sorry that you have had an unsatisfactory experience here! We would appreciate the opportunity to turn things around. Unfortunately, we are unable to reach out to you given the anonymous nature of this review, so please, reach out to the property manager directly at EricaMo@homeproperties.com. She will, personally, see to it that your service issues are addressed. Thank you!
The maintenance sucks here. You will pay for an expensive rent (beware! the model is a more expensive model), and never get response to maintenance. It appears to me that they only concern with getting you in the apartment! Keeping you there is not a priority. Any issue I have, the maintenance department had to have proof beyond a reasonable doubt that something was wrong with the appliance. As if, I'm trying to scam for a new dish washer or heater. The neighborhood isn't safe. There is a homeless shelter across the apartment--which doesn't directly contribute to an unsafe environment, but I think does contribute to the petty crimes and constant unfamiliar faces. We have assigned parking, but there are no signs that state that--people are always parking in my spot. One time someone was in my parking spot...guess who? MAINTENANCE! if you're gonna pay these prices---get something worth your while.
WORST PLACE EVER!!! If I could give this complex 0 stars I would. Lets see I have lived in the complex for the past 15 years. When I first moved in I was in a 1 bedroom and when my daughter was born I had to move to a 2 bedroom which is fine. My first apartment the 1 bedroom was great. Now the 2 bedroom I wish I could blow it up!!! The office will not renovate my kitchen which is falling apart! I have missing cabinet doors because they have rotted off, my stove, disposal and dishwasher are crap! I am the only apartment in the whole building that has not ever been renovated!! Almost all my doors whether they are the bedroom, closet or bathroom have came off because of the wood frames dry rotting. We have had problems with termites in the past. I was told the only way my apartment would be renovated was that I had to move out of the apartment. UMMM if I move out you lose money and a tenant! I was told I could transfer to another apartment but I would have to pay the going rate for that apartment not what I pay now. I have emailed the office about my upstairs neighbors sounding like they are coming through the ceiling, nothing has changed. Now I have to say I have really had no problems with the office staff. I mean that could be because I do try to stay out of trouble and off of radar lol. Maintenance is good. Mr. Ron has been there a long time and is great. I would love to give this complex stars cause I have lived there so long but it just is impossible. I just want MY apartment to be renovated (kitchen and doors) I guess that will never happen. So my suggestion is to stay far away from here.
This apartment is the worst I ever lived. They increase rent almost every time you want to renew your lease. They make month to month rent so expensive that a tenant would prefer at least a 6 months lease. In addition, you get less for the value of your money. I will never rent from this property again.
this apartment complex is beautiful everything you would expect of luxury apartments with brand new appliances , spacious rooms , community activities for the whole family , very pet friendly I would recommend this complex for anyone looking for a relaxing atmosphere
Canterbury Apartments is a great community. It's in a convenience location, has scenic views and friendly neighbors. Well maintained outdoor areas and maintenance arrives timely. Management staff is friendly and helpful. Overall, it is a great experience.
I HAVE BEEN LIVING AT CANTERBURY APTS FOR FOUR YEARS NOW. IT IS RIGHT OFF THE BUS LINE THAT TAKES YOU INTO THE CITY. RIGHT BY A MAJOR HOSPITAL AND JUST AS CLOSE TO A MAJOR MALL AND SHOPPING CENTER, EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS WITHIN FIVE TO TEN MINUTES AWAY. THE PROPERTY IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME. I AM A VERY PICKY PERSON AND LIKE THINGS TO BE A CERTAIN WAY. WHEN EVER I AM UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT ANY SITUATION I CALL THE OFFICE AND MY ISSUE IS TAKEN CARE OF RIGHT AWAY. ONE OF THE BEST THINGS ABOUT CANTERBURY IS THE PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE REALLY GET TO KNOW YOUR NAME. THIS SHOWS THAT THEY TOO CARE. IT IS A PET FRIENDLY APARTMENT AND THEY STAND BY THEIR RULE OF CLEANING UP BEHIND YOUR PET. WHICH IS VERY GOOD BECAUSE YOU HAVE YOUR CHILDREN OUTSIDE PLAYING IN THE GRASS. THE PROPERTY IS MAINTAINED VERY WELL GRASS IS ALWAYS CUT, NO TRASH AROUND ON THE PROPERTY. THIS PLACE IS TRUELY A PLACE FOR PEOPLE THAT CARE ABOUT WHERE THEY LIVE. I LOVE THE SET UP OF MY APT, I HAVE A TWO BEDROOM TWO BATH. THE BEDROOMS ARE APART FROM EACH OTHER FOR PRIVACY AND THEN YOU CAN GET BEDROOMS CLOSE TO EACH OTHER FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVE LITTLE ONES THAT THEY NEED TO KEEP A CLOSE EAR FOR. THE POOL AND COMPUTER AREAS ARE ALWAYS KEPT CLEAN AND NEVER OUT OF CONTROL. THERE IS A SENSE OF PEACEFULLNESS AT CANTERBURY THAT YOU DONT FIND AT OTHER PLACES. IT TRUELY IS THE PERFECT APT. THE STAFF CARE ABOUT THE TENANTS AND THAT MAKES ALL OF THE DIFFERENCE.
Centerburry is a great place to live with Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. My Apartment is spacious well designed and very comfortable. A very close to shopping mall, restaurants and all big retailer stores. The management team is excellent and if there is ever a concern the response is immediate.
The neighborhood is quiet, and charming. The apartments are a little outdated, but for the price it's perfect. It's so nice to only have neighbors to the side of you. We don't have to worry about anyone being loud above us or below us. My boyfriend has a lot of stuff from his old place, but there is an attic, and it has a ton of space. The laundry room is also spacious, and nice for extra storage. This is a great place for people who are looking for their first place. Close to the mall, schools, the hospital, etc.
My apartment complex is outstanding and the maintenance workers are very nice and accommodating
My stay here has had its ups an downs. I love the spacious rooms,I find the rent to be high for apt living, it's what some home mortgage rates are, but everything else in the area didn't meet my standard.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry that you don't feel more positive about your experience at Canterbury. If you have any issues or concerns that you'd like to discuss, please call the office directly at (410) 574-4300. Thank you for your residency.
Not the best place to live in MD, though certainly not the worst. The rent is high (but pretty much all of the prices in this state are). The neighborhood is not particularly rough, (considering that riots were held about 20 miles or so away just a few months ago), and there isn't that much violence (compared to maybe Detroit or Chicago, but its still pretty bad). All in all, just refrain from moving your new family to Baltimore, however, if you truly believe you should be here, this apartment complex is a pretty okay.
