Property Ratings at Canterbury Green
This place is one of the worst apartments I've ever lived in. The only good thing about it is the location. They send someone into your apartment at least once a month, you'll hear sirens all hours of the day and night due to the fire department being right behind the apartment building. They will charge you $25 if you get locked out of your apt. The laundry machine breaks every couple of months, and you have to contact the company who own the machines to have them come fix it. If the fake wooden floors get wet, they will pop up and if you don't report it in time, they'll charge you for repairs. Speaking of repairs, when you move out they will nickel and dime you for every little thing they can. I didn't get back any of my $1750 deposit back, even I was there for 7 years and there wasn't anything wrong except for normal wear and tear. Stay far far away from this place, there's tons of other apartments in Stamford, any of them are better than this place.
I moved in during the pandemic which was stressful, but I settled in very quickly and comfortably due to the flexibility of RFR. My company was not giving me a clear return-to-office date and they accommodated my renewal very generously. Regarding the apartment itself, anyone who comes over is in awe of the amount of space, natural light and overall layout. Canterbury Green offers an amazing deal for the apartment itself and the location. This area around Canterbury Green is very quiet but is only a 5 minute walk to all the popular restaurants and bars. I recommend touring here before anywhere else!
I lived in Canterbury Green for nearly 1.5yrs and have no complaints. I have lived in Manhattan, LA, Boston... and I found this experience very positive. I moved out to buy, otherwise would have stayed. -Management was extremely responsive, with issues fixed same day or early the next morning. 24hr security onsite answers calls at any hour. -Apts are large and spacious -Nicest architecture in all of Stamford. Building was built to last, strong walls, unique roof design. And an absolutely beautiful fountain and internal green/park. -Quiet, sheltered feel with the triangular building design, despite being in center of downtown -Great gym, on premise parking with seemingly unlimited overnight spaces for residents -Overall best value I've seen in Stamford.
I like the apartment's location and my apartment, but god forbid you have to interact with the management team (RFR Realty). A situation occurred at my apartment and the security was lax. (They tell you 24/7 security, but there is only one security phone line for over 100 apartments). My interaction with the management since then has been appalling. It seemed that they were trying to sweep the incident under the rug without addressing it. I had to be the one constantly asking for updates. Also, I woke up to construction noise around 6:30am on a work weekday. After investigating, I found out it was the Canterbury Green's construction crew working on an office space downstairs. (Most of the apartments have offices on the first floor). Apparently, the construction for those office spaces could only be done during those early hours. I wish I did my research before moving in this building. You have been warned.
I live in a decent 2 bedroom apartment in downtown Stamford CT. I moved from Queens and I have to say I like the peaceful life and amenities in my building. I have a view to a church and the garden. The apartment layout makes more sense than the other places I reviewed and I feel pretty comfortable here considering that I work from home.
Canterbury is a great place to live its in the down town area. the staff from management to maintenance are great .
If you are looking to move to an apartment in downtown area, I highly recommend Canterbury Green Apartments. The property is beautiful, well maintain, clean, safe and reasonably priced. It's in excellent location, easy access to I-95, walking distance to downtown restaurants, theaters, mall and churches. The apartment lay out is good, the space is easy to work with, lots of windows, high ceilings, 24 hours security , indoor garage and easy access to laundry room. The management team are excellent, courteous, friendly and attentive from the office staff all the way to maintenance and cleaning crew. Steve and Margaret are very professional and easy to deal with. The leasing process is stress free. This is my second year living at Canterbury Green and pretty much looking forward to few more years. The fact that my job is now a 5 minute walking distance is an added bonus; I no longer have to sit in traffic for hours. Overall, I'm very pleased. I love my apartment! Easy living in a good community.
Attempt at luxury falling short. Advertised low rent, but with add ons is about the same as every other complex minus the amenities. Frequent issues with sinks and showers leaking.

With 24/7 on-site security, building engineers on-site Monday through Friday and on-call engineers on weekends, all issues are attended to very quickly once we are alerted. Rents as published are for 12 month leases and include hot/cold water, maintenance and garbage removal at no additional fee. Add-ons are fully optional and specified at the beginning of the lease (such as parking and optional fitness center). Canterbury Green does not charge tenants for the timely maintenance service provided.
