Property Ratings at Canvas
HORRIBLE new management with lack of any respect to current residents. Non-existent resident relations: call their office, I dare you, see if you can get a response. You won’t. God forbid there’s an emergency, because you will have to figure it out on your own
The Canvas team are polite and personable, always willing to help and care about the property. The property is well maintained, clean, and secure. Animal friendly property with comfortable amenities. Love the washer/dryer/dishwasher in the unit! Great place to call home :)

Apartments seem nice, are in a great location, etc. My issue is with the administrative side. I applied to this apartment but my circumstances changed and I ended up not signing the lease or moving in. I emailed the management team to let them know I wasn't able to move in as soon as I knew. Apparently they never got it because they changed management companies and didn't bother forwarding emails from their old email addresses to the new one. I reached out several more times and they finally got back to me this morning and told me that my "refundable" holding deposit will not be refunded to me. I knew I wouldn't get my application fee back (obviously) but I specifically asked when applying if the holding deposit would be returned if I wasn't able to move in for any reason and was told "yes" by Kyrtin who works at Canvas. I don't believe that them keeping my refundable deposit is legal; I never agreed to these terms so I will be finding out my rights before taking next steps. If Canvas refunds my deposit, I'll update my review with that info.

Hi there. We apologize for the confusion this has caused you while we were in the process of changing management companies and if the charges were not explained thoroughly by the previous staff. Our goal is to provide our residents with the best customer service possible and we have since refunded your deposit. If you need anything else, please give us a call! Thanks!
Our apartment is so open and spacious. Love the high ceilings, walk in closets, and kitchen. I do wish the trash rooms were in better working condition
Management staff was spectacular, apartment was nice, and rent was a fairly reasonable price for the location.
My apartment is quiet and cozy, the rooftop deck and amenties are great for guests, fellow tenants are nice, building is clean and secure, staff is rad!
Great location, leasing staff is very friendly and very accommodating and the roof is the best part in the summer! The only thing I would recommend lower the parking fee.
I'll definitely recommend to friends who want to live in the city. Rent is kind of high though, so I think it's mainly good for people who want to be close to downtown, Queen Anne, etc. and enjoy the nightlife.
really friendly staff and did a great job fixing up my light right away! Totally convenient!
The leasing agent I met with and unfortunately cannot remember his name was great! Very informative, really nice and fun to tour with.
Complex is very clean. Price is decent. Location is good. View of the water from the rooftop deck is incredible. Building is very new as well.
I would recommend it because the staff was wonderful, the amenities were exceptional, and the building was immaculate.
YES
kind of expensive for the space and fellow residents are disrespectful of the property and their neighbors
New building with great facilities (gym and rooftop bbq), helpful and courteous staff, great location.
The facilities and services available at Canvas Apartments is truly fantastic, the staff themselves are exemplary individuals
Great office personnel, great apartments, amazing view, and a wonderful neighborhood. Couldn't imagine a better combo!
I really love all the amenities of the building, the location, and my apartment itself. Although I had kind of an outlier space (loft), I am sure the rest of the building is just as nice
Initially we just asked someone at the front desk to submit the request on our behalf, but that didn't get done. Once we used the portal everything was fine.
Location is wonderful. Management is friendly. Problems that use to be bad like garbage room overfilling seems to have cleaned up a lot.
Some of the appliances or cabinets fall off hinges real easily and need to be serviced periodically. Some of the dimensions prevent cabinets from opening up fully and can damage surrounding areas like door sills or surrounding walls. The season can mess with metal frame like the front door. The summer time makes the metal expand and the door does not shut at times once it is opened.
Apartment management attempted to increase rent more than 10% with less than 60 days notice which is required by Seattle municipal law. I went back and forth with a leasing agent and unfortunately had to threaten to file a complaint with Seattle municipal government to finally get it escalated to building manager who acknowledged the mistake. Month to month rental rates were incredibly expensive, an increase of 89%!Trash chute would back up most weekends and stink up the second floor. Besides those issues I was overall happy.
It's a bit pricey and there are cheaper options in the area. The roof not always having it's amenities available such as the fire pit and the TV take away from the value that it adds.
Too expensive for what it is. Too far away from grocery stores. Parking is a nightmare, and there aren't enough parking spots available in the garage for everyone anyway. Not as if the parking spots are worth what you guys are charging.
We really like the location, the space, the office staff, and the layout (especially the kitchen). It does cost quite a bit, though, and many of the parking spaces are extremely difficult to park in. Parking is also very expensive and it's tough to have guests here.
Although I like my unit, there are a lot of things about the neighborhood that i don't care for. Parking is always a nightmare and you charge way too much for the garage. Unlike other places in the neighborhood we have to walk some distance to the store, or a restaurant or bar.
I have been living at Canvas for over a year and a half. I have very much enjoyed living here! Since the building is newer, sound does not travel. The staff is wonderful and maintenance has always done an exceptional job with getting things done quickly. The community events are also very much appreciated and a great way to meet owners and their pets :) Like I mention below, parking is steep. Although it is a newer building, it seems like the builder cut corners. All in all, the pros outweigh the cons. Pros: Good deal for the location Quiet building/neighbors Pet friendly New appliances Timely maintenance Community activities/events (UFC fights, donuts, BBQs, wine) Friendly staff Nearby bus stops Rooftop Cons: Expensive parking W/S/G is variable ($60-$85 single person) Poor contractor job (i.e. cabinets have fallen off hinges, sink came unglued) Small fitness center Angela
