Located about 25 miles southwest of Portland, the city of Newberg combines the relative seclusion of small-town life with the amenities of the suburbs. The rental market largely consists of single-family homes on quiet neighborhood streets, with several low-rise apartments and condos available in town as well.
The private George Fox University sits near the center of town, a Christian institution serving around 4,000 students. Pacific Highway serves as the main road through the city, lined with a diverse assortment of locally-owned businesses: Coffee Cottage has been a morning staple since 1990, Finnigan’s offers a cozy environment to grab a bite and enjoy a live band, and the historic 99W Drive-in Theatre is the perfect spot to enjoy classic and first-run movies.

Property Ratings at Canyon Ridge Apartments
I moved into my apartment in 2020 and was very impressed with the property manager when we met. Since then, she has been a real issue. She is passive aggressive, never takes the blame on issues, constantly snooping on peoples business, and when you bring issues up to her that she has said need to be taken care of and you give helpful information she takes her word back. I really thought she would be kind and personable when we moved in and decided to renew our lease after the first year and it has gone down his dramatically. There are stray cats everywhere that poop in the Bark dust, so it smells nasty, there is always issues with water and it has been turned off at least 10 times in the last 3-4 months. It is not well kept, tons of potholes, and you can't see the parking spot lines anymore. This being my first apartment I wasn't expecting anything fancy or over the top, but I am only living here because of the price due to the dramatic price increases in Newberg for homes and apartments.
Well kept apartments, in good shape. There are about a dozen college students in the complex, but it is mostly families and working adults. The management has poured in new money in the complex over the past year: Landscaping has been refreshed; new roof on every building; all curbs repaired; all buildings power washed annually; etc. A new manager has come in and has been very responsive. All of my maintenance requests have been met in just a day or two over the past 2 years, and done well. The washers and dryers provided are not top of the line, but they do well. I am a 10 minute walk from the GFU campus; and next door to a cemetery which is peaceful and quiet - nice for an evening stroll. Kids play in the parking lot on the weekends; people walk their dogs around off and on all day; most residents are friendly. It seems reasonably priced, compared to what I have seen advertised.
My apartment is in a quite neighborhood:) we live at the end of the street
