Wrapped around Lake Jackson and Carr Lake, Northwest Tallahassee is the ideal location for those searching for Florida's natural side. Northwest Tallahassee provides mature oak trees covered in moss, palm trees, lakes and waterways, and park space. This neighborhood is for those wanting to slow things down, just a bit -- a neighborhood with plenty of open spaces. It's also convenient, located directly north of I-10 and sitting just five miles north of Downtown Tallahassee. Northwest Tallahassee is home to the Lake Jackson Mounds Archeological State Park, J. Lee Vause Park, and part of Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park.

Property Ratings at Capital Walk Apartments
The management here avoids answering calls, loses personal files documenting your residence, cannot correctly list every signed member of a lease on said lease, calls the wrong number when attempting to call someone who lives in the same apartment repeatedly, fails to correctly trim the trees that brush up against the apartment, threaten to tow paying residents cars after giving poor directions and notice for then to spray paint the lot (for some reason) and much, much more. I really could go on for days documenting the rudeness, maliciousness and callousness displayed by the management here. The rooms themselves are fine and I imagine you'll have no problems with said digs but if you want to have a decent experience dealing with the humans running the place you live I'd say steer clear. Good luck if you decide otherwise.
Not a luxury apartment for sure! But it’s a decent place to live. I lived here for 2 years and it was quiet for the most part. Front office was nice for the most but had issues with them during the pandemic when I couldn’t work. All in all it’s ok but I wouldn’t go out the way to live here
Worst leasing office ever!!! My roommate and I both have many rental experiences, and this application process was completely a nightmare. It took almost 3 weeks to let us know that we are not qualified because we don't have a US passport even we already stated that we were not US citizen when we first submitted our online application. If they did not accept other status, they should have reject us even before charging the $200 application fee...Don't ever try to call them. They will never give you any update until you call them. It will take decades to get your call through because they did not hang up phone so your call would go directly to voice mail. I saw it!!!! They like making promises and kept saying that you would get feedback tomorrow and you could move in right away, then tomorrow is another tomorrow... If you have any other choice, STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!
Very helpful leasing agent. Ms. Brittany, She made the process very simple and very quick. Would definitely remcommend.
I’m so proud and appreciative for being able to know Brittany she’s very intelligent and about her business she helped me a lot through my moving process not really knowing what I wanted to do . She made sure I felt comfortable here at capital walk Big Thanks To The Whole Front Office Staff GREAT JOB YOU GUYS
Brittany was amazing! She was polite, respectful and knowledgeable. I can’t wait to be a member of this community!
Been here a year and I love it. CWA has made me feel at home despite being an apartment complex. It honestly doesn’t even feel like I have neighbors across the hall or up the stairs. Mike at the office is always super helpful and kind. Very peaceful. I love the pool and hot tub!
Looking forward to moving here. Planning on putting in an application once my roommate tours later this week. Mike A. was awesome and the unit was spacious with great amenities. The neighborhood seems super friendly and I love that there aren’t dog breed or weight restrictions.
I’ve been touring multiple apartments in the greater Tallahassee area searching for my new place to call home! I think I found it. Love the spacious patio and master suite. Mike A. was wonderful! I have a few other tours scheduled but really leaning towards Capital Walk Apartments.
Came for a tour today and was greeted by Mike. He answered all my questions and was very easy going. I am still looking around but the amenities and ease of access to I-10 are a plus for me.
If you’re looking for a community with nice and friendly staff this is it. Brittany provided me with a great tour when we first met and since moving in she’s been the same. The apartment doesn’t look exactly like the model, light in dining room and faucet are different and I have carpet but I was expecting it because Brittany made me aware so no false promises. The gym and pool furniture could use updating but the pool is kept clean and residents are nice. It’s not southwood luxury but the people here are great and staff is pleasant.
When we first stumbled upon this community, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Brittany is the most thoughtful, gracious host. She helped me find the perfect place for my daughter.
Mike gave me a tour of the apartments and he did a fantastic job the property was very clean and he was very friendly and knowledgeable i will definitely be looking forward to talking to him more about the apartment.
If your looking for a home away from the fast paced inner city living this is it! All the perks; pool, gym, community center, dog park, children's playground and the natural scenery is def a plus. Crystal the manager is amazing as well as the rest of the staff.
I have had nothing less than an excellent experience at Capital Walk. The staff made my move from Orland to Tallahassee much easier than expected. From signing my lease with the front office to Laquinton helping me when my unit needed minor fixes. It’s a perfectly fit neighborhood for myself and both of my dogs while I attend college. My unit is spacious and it has all the amenities needed. It’s well maintained and close to all the necessities.
had a great experience I was given a very knowledgeable tour by mr Mike Antonis in the front office. The property is very nice and is kept clean by their wonderful staff would highly recommend checking this place out
I was super excited about the prospect of living here but don't let their "we love pets" message fool you -- this applies only to "domesticated" animals such as cats, dogs, and fish.
Unprofessional management. He's a liar and scared to address tenant concerns. Place is poorly constructed and insulated. Grounds are poorly maintained. Security gate hasn't worked in months, SO FREE ACCESS! Open access to Waffle House patrons smh. The first property I have ever leased with where I had to purchase my own blinds. Breezeways are full of debris, dirt and leaves. The only positive review I have is the response time of maintenance. However, this property is dated and if you're expecting luxury and peace, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. I'm so disappointed.
Property Manager at Capital Walk Apartments, Responded To This Review
Zachary, The truth of the matter is, you called emergency maintenance and reported a flood in your unit. When maintenance responded you admitted you did not have a flood but wanted to complain about your upstairs neighbors (not what maintenance is for.) Management has informed you multiple times that if you do have an after hour noise complaint to call our courtesy patrol. The one time you permitted them to come out due to complaints of your upstairs neighbors "stomping" he found your upstairs neighbors sleeping. While we certainly want to address tenant concerns, we can only do so much with unsubstantiated complaints. Further, we do provide blinds for all windows in the units. Our staff routinely clean the breezeways however since they are outside and exposed to the elements, they are susceptible to leaves and debris blowing in. We'll work to be more diligent about keeping the leaves out. Finally, even though our gate is now working after being out for repairs, we are neighboring a Waffle House and are not fenced. Our residents actually love being able to walk to Waffle House and the other neighboring businesses. If you want to live in a fully gated and fenced community, Capital Walk is not it (nor do we advertise to be).
Make sure you clean every single little thing before moving out or they will charge you like crazy to clean it themselves. Read every part of the lease carefully and ask for copies of everything because they really like to screw people out of their money. Yeah it's a nice apartment, but it's overpriced. The gym equipment is trash and never works. Called several times about a leak in the bedroom and they never bothered to fix it. Called about all the spiders in the corners of the room, no one ever came. Electric bill was crazy high every month because it isn't insulated well at all.
This is the perfect apartment complex for a family to move into. Very spacious rooms and closets. California-style kitchen with an island that over looks the living room and dinning room. Perfect for entertaining. School bus stop is right at the apartment complex gate for ease of access. More on the outskirts of Tallahassee but still close enough to get to things. Walmart 5 minutes down the road along with plenty of food options as well. Alyson C, Tallahassee FL
Looking for a large ,upscale well maintain place to call home. Then "Capital Walk Apartment" is the place for you. I have been living here for a year and I can tell you it has been a real joy. It is quiet, friendly neightbors. It also offer several activities through out the year which allow you a outing without you leaving the complex. It's pet friendly and very affordable. Come check it out it is a hidden treasure Sharon P, Tallahasse, FL
Perfect location , large rooms friendly staff and convenient to shopping and all the universities. I recommend to a families, college student to retiree. It's a hidden treasure true value
Property Manager at Capital Walk Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you so much for your kind review. We are so lucky to have residents like you!
My wife and I moved to Tallahassee from Valdosta, Ga. I made a point to never stay at an apartment complex ever again because of the experience I had at "The Plantations at Killearn." Capital Walk changed my mind regarding apartments. It's truly an amazing place to live. The staff are personable and the maintenance team is above par. It may be a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I pay $60 more than the base rent. $10 for ground floor. $25 for private entrance. $25 for the view. It's epic
Great place! I highly recommend this property as the BEST place to live in Tallahassee!!
