Property Ratings at CARDINAL RIDGE
Unless you can handle $150-200/month rent increases every year and $250 utility bills, this is not the place for you. They keep saying it’s due to rising utility costs (which the tenants are actually responsible for) and other BS, but they don’t even enforce their own rules. They also do not enforce picking up dog waste so it is absolutely everywhere. The walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors using the bathroom. The front doors have terrible seals so your whole entryway floods every time it rains. The windows are so poorly sealed that wind easily whips right into them strongly enough to move the curtains. The pool is too tiny for the number of people in the complex and always full of unattended children. The gym is also laughable for a complex of this size and largely unusable. When you move in, they go over all of the previous damage from other tenants with you and promise to fix it all, but never do. The place wasn’t cleaned before I moved in and was absolutely filthy. The apartments are very cheaply built and touted as “luxury” even though everything is builders grade (cheap Formica counter tops, bottom of the barrel appliances, very cheap carpet that sheds constantly, ceiling fans that sound like they’re going to take flight, cheap roll out vinyl flooring). But if you don’t mind all that, the internet is fast (if you pay an extra $25/mo) and there is plenty parking.
I lived at this complex for a couple years. Management changed about a year after moving in. I recently moved out and was charged thousands of dollars for repairing carpet. When I moved in the carpet was damaged and this was noted in the damage sheet I was given by management. The new management should have been able to find this in our paperwork. I will never rent from this company ever again.
The place is not luxury poorly built you can hear everything your neighbors does and I do mean everything, our front door leaks, poor paint that shows everything if you touch it, cheap carpet and the refrigerator is tiny. Poor planning last winter trapped people for 2 days on one end of the complex, cars stuck in parking lot….there is nothing luxury it’s just expensive.
These were recently taken over by new management by some out of state company and they no longer return calls or emails. Good luck getting ahold of anyone :(
I love living at Cardinal Ridge! The apartments are new and modern with nice countertops, dark wood finishes, and soft carpets, but aren’t over market price. The management is friendly, helpful, and quick to address any issues. The grounds are nice with a lovely pool and soon to be dog park! They also provide pet waste stations and have a low cost pet fee. I’m glad I chose an Apartment Mart of Springfield property because their management can’t be beat.
I love living in these apartments! They are in a great area where it’s quiet, peaceful, and away from the city traffic/noise. They do a great job about keeping the grounds clean, grass mowed and snow removed from the sidewalks. They provide Fiddo Stations in front of every pet-friendly apartment building to make cleaning up after your pet easy and convenient. However, some residents still leave pet waste despite the Apartments efforts to eliminate this issue. The Apartnet office will hang notices, as reminders that pet waste does need to be cleaned in attempt to fix the issue, which usually works. Maintenance is great about your work orders! You just call the office and report anything that you want looked at so they can make you a work order. Maintenance is quick to respond and resolve any issues! The residents that’s Ive met are very friendly. Like any other apartment, the walls are not 100% sound proof. So you will occasionally hear some noise from your neighbor. However, that is just a part of apartment living wherever you go. Overall, my expirience living here has been wonderful. I would reccomend the Cardinal Ridge Apartments to anyone looking for an exceptional community and place to live.
Don’t trust the friendly vibe they show when you first visit, it’s just a front. The majority of the things in the apartment didn’t work when I moved in (a lot still don’t after multiple requests) and the utilities are incredibly expensive! The water heater didn’t work for days, the a/c didn’t work for months, the dishwasher is broken, the pipes leaked, and sadly there is so much more. The apartments are so poorly built that nothing works properly. The walls are so thin that you can hear everything your neighbors say and do, and if you have neighbors like mine that scream all night or wake you up in the middle of the night, management is too lazy to do anything. Management does nothing they say they will. They are so lazy they don’t even make people pick up their dog’s messes, so there are constantly piles everywhere. The only good thing about Cardinal Ridge Apartments is that it’s a safe neighborhood, but even that doesn’t make up for all the things so very wrong with this place. I couldn’t even recommended these apartments to my worst enemy, because I’m not a good enough liar to make them believe this place is livable. Oh and in case no one mentions this like they didn’t mention it me, Chatham water isn’t safe to drink, but you still have to pay the extremely high water bill. So, word of caution, run away from these apartments!!
