Property Ratings at CSD1
My only complaint is the air system. It’s nice that your bill is lower and it’s more economical, but they control when it switches from heat to air. While that’s normal, it seems that what isn’t taken into consideration is the tenants who live on floors 3 and above. Heat rises, so in the winter time it’s very common for the higher floors to not even run the heat and the apartment stay around 70 degrees. The problem is when it’s warm outside and it’s above the temperature outside in your apartment because of heat rising. For example, if it’s 80 out and you live on an apartment that’s not on the first floor, your apartment will be warmer than that. I work night shift, do you know how difficult it is to try and sleep in an apartment that’s 87 degrees? Also, they’re building next door so if you have the window open then you hear all the construction and trucks. Additionally, last summer the minimum temperature was set to 68 for the air to turn on. While that is reasonable if your on the main floor where the unit is, it’s certainly not the case if you’re actually in an apartment, and it’s much warmer than 68 for the apartments above the main floor. Lastly, if you have kids or pets, be careful because it can get hot and humid on the higher (3 and above) floors. It might be worth considering a different apartment complex that allows you to have more control of your individuals unit heat/air that considers how heat rises and while it may be 67 outside on the main floor (so the air won’t turn on) it’s much hotter than that in the apartments since none of them are on the main floor. Additionally, they get break ins to the storage units in the garage often and leave it on the tenants to fix the cages. They broke in and snapped ours where the lock is (along with other tenants), and it’s been months with no initiative to fix it. There solution is to put it through your individual renters insurance if we want it fixed.

We are understanding with this tenant. We did go through some growing pains with this new system but we think we got it now. We are the pioneer's in Geothermal HVAC systems in the Chicago Suburbs and are grateful to the first move ins that moved forward and moved in with us.
I lived in the 301 building for three years but had to move for work. Loved my time here: management and maintenance are on the ball, the electricity bill was always low, gigabit fiber internet for a good price. Everything delivers here, so many options. Would rent here again.
