Beneath a canopy of cherry blossoms, woven between national monuments and government buildings, Washington DC is a city full of excitement, surprises, and historic treasures. Washington DC’s breathtaking landmarks aren’t just for tourists. After finding your perfect apartment in the city, you’ll visit them more often than you think! Many are free, and they offer residents a one-of-a-kind backyard, including the Smithsonian, the National Museum of History, the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the National Zoo, the National Mall, and so much more.
But historic monuments aren’t the only thing that make Washington DC so special. The incredible park-like atmosphere offers a stunning background.

Property Ratings at Carillon House
I moved in almost two months ago and I am enjoying the property. I wanted to wait a while before writing a review, in case any issues came up. The move in process was smooth and Meriem in leasing went above and beyond to help me. I was moving quickly and during a time when a bunch of apartments were filling up. I got a great deal on my space that is below market value. I was worried that the below market value might come with structural or pest issues, but so far neither have been an issue. The studios are huge - everyone who visits is shocked. The 'L' shape of the studio really breaks up the apartment and makes it feel less like a dorm room and more like an apartment. I never hear my neighbors - it's honestly a bit eerie sometimes because I'm used to hearing the TV or stomping around - but I love the quiet. There is no cell service in the building (apparently due to the Russian embassy). There are very few outlets so you need to bring extension cords. Management and the front desk people have been kind and helpful although I haven't had any maintenance issues yet. The community is friendly and the neighborhood is beautiful and safe. Walking distance to a grocery store. The apartments have huge windows that I haven't seen in other DC apartments. It is definitely older, but overall a wonderful fit for single person looking for a studio.
Property Manager at Carillon House, Responded To This Review
Welcome to your new home at Carillon House, Catherine! We're so thrilled to have you as part of the community and we appreciate your positive review! It's great to hear Meriem and our team were able to help make your move-in as smooth as possible. It's good to know you are happy with your new home and we hope you'll let us know if there's anything else we can do to ensure you are comfortable. Thanks again!
I'm very happy with the carillon house. The apartment is excellent and the management and staff are very professional and helpful. They made my move very easy and I owe them a debt of gratitude for their kind service. I was fortunate to find and be accepted to be a resident here. Thank You.
I just moved in here a couple of days ago, and I am absolutely satisfied with my stay in Carillon House Apartment. The leasing staffs are amiable and helpful with my move-in process. I really appreciate Meriem and Johanna for expediting my application process. Meriem is very caring and understanding, and she really made my apartment hunting experience less challenging. Destiny is one of the best leasing staffs I have ever encountered. She always makes sure that the residents are content with the living atmosphere, and she will do an extra mile to reach out to those who need helps. She even helped me with my apartment layout! Paige, Glen, and Ann at front desk are also warm and hospitable. I am so grateful that I moved into Carillon House.
After thoroughly looking all over Fox Hill/Foggy Bottom/Georgetown/Glover Park, I determined this is definitely the best place to rent. There is a gas station, post office, park, and endless shops and restaurants all within a block. It is centrally located and feels safe to walk around at all hours. There are also many great running trails, and a few miles can get you to either the Washington Harbor or the National Mall. From the roof of the complex, there is a spectacular view overlooking the entire city. What's more, the community here seems very tight-knit, and people will hang out up there together. The staff is also incredible, and the maintenance people will respond to any requests the very same day. There is also a gym that's open 24/7, a party room, and newly furnished kitchens with granite in most of the apartments. I have a studio, but it feels hugee, and there are bigger sized apartments you can also rent. The people who live here come from all walks of life... tons of students (like me), as well as elderly people, middle-aged couples, and families. I feel very safe and happy here, and I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially those who will be attending Georgetown, GW, or American. See ya on the roof!!!!
The building has extreme leaking issues, that can cause damage to personal goods. Also problems with cockroaches. Management has no interest in fixing issues and extremely slow to respond, if at all. Very glad to have moved out.
Moving to Carillon House was a mistake I regret and hope you do not follow. Could not be happier to have left this complex. Management is extraordinarily unresponsive to any problems and months go by with no fixes, no matter how simple. Its remarkable their lack of concern for tenants. Once the air is shut off outside of summer, the apartments become unbearably hot (if you do move here invest in some industrial fans) even in the winter months, causing a choice between baking alive or opening your window in 20 degree weather. The building laundry machines tear up, stain, and destroy clothing. Their purported "high-speed internet" is nowhere near -- sometimes it's even difficult to load your email. All in all, look elsewhere.
I have lived in Carillon House for a month now and am extremely happy with my choice. Came as a recent grad for my job in Georgetown. Great location, easy to get in heart of D.C., but not isolated where you need to go far for places to eat, shop or nightlife as there are excellent places right next door. Great, safe neighborhood close to good running trails (bonus for me!). The staff is excellent, very nice and helpful with any questions/request. Apartments are nice as well! Going to be very difficult to match value in terms of location, price and quality of building.
I have been living here since 2006. Some of the people who manage the building and take care of it live in the building and this is a good sign. A few years ago, the heating and cooling system was completely replaced. They added a computer room and moved some of the soda machines to that area. There is a gym that is just fantastic and I have lost 22bs as a result and I feel great. I know all the people here and they know me. The area is among the best in the city with a newly renovated park and tennis court across the street. I love living here and I know other tenants do also. They rarely have any empty units. There are holiday parties, Memorial Day barbecue and yoga classes. You can see the July 4th fireworks on the rooftop patio. It is really the best place to live in DC
I moved here when I came to DC to study. I love the location, because of all the close amenities such as public transportation (just across the street), restaurants, and a Whole Foods Market just within a 5-minute walk. My studio has a good size and includes internet utilities. The staff is excellent and nice! and they offer maintenance service 24H/7D. Great views from my apartment and from the rooftop. Love the events they organize and the complementary breakfast on Mondays. The building has a gym and other amenities such as bike storage, business center, etc. I would change some things like the carpets in the Lobby, the lights in the hallways, and the kitchens in some apartments because they are too old. In general, it is an great place to live.
Affordable studios and one bedrooms in Glover Park. Moved in when I came to the area two years ago for work and chose the building based on a friend's recommendation. I've looked around and don't see anything comparable for as good of a price - safe building, great location in safe neighborhood, large sized studio, excellent staff including matience, included Internet/utilities, good view, and rooftop are the perks for me.
