Property Ratings at Carlton Apartments
The higher leaders in the office are rude. Maintenance comes whenever they feel like it and barely fixes anything. My garbage disposal has been trash from the time I moved in. I have also had a flood and there are red ants since I have been here. Next year I will not be here and will be moving somewhere else where I know my money will be appreciated with good customer service. Once again please do not move here .

We’re saddened to learn that your experience has not been a more accurate reflection of the positive living situation that we strive to offer. We'd appreciate the opportunity to improve upon our original communication as we advance so please come by the office or give us a call to discuss any remaining concerns you have. We try to fulfill all maintenance requests promptly and efficiently, regardless of high volume. We’re sorry this was not your experience. Please bring these concerns to us at the leasing office to resolve. We would appreciate a second chance to impress you with our excellent service, so we encourage you to reach out to the office at your convenience.
It’s awful. The maintenance staff are lazy, it seems, as they do not come fix any problems regardless of the situation. When we first moved in here we came with the impression that these people would fix things top-notch. False. When we addressed our issues the first week of moving (the kitchen floor floods every single day, when it rains the water gets inside, the microwave installed stopped working so we had to result in buying one ourselves, the garbage disposal clogged so we had to unclog it ourselves because they took almost a week to finally come, stains were on the carpet from past resident even though they claimed to have cleaned them, the screen of my bedroom window fell off and no one came to fix it, etc.) Parking spots are also difficult to find and some people even result in parking on the side of the road if you aren’t lucky enough. There is one positive thing though. Since we’ve moved we’ve never really had any issues with any of our neighbors, so that seems to be the only good thing about these apartments thus far. Thankfully we will be moving by the end of the month but I would never recommend anyone.

Do not move here!!!! The people who work at the desk are very disrespectful. When we need something fixed they never fix it. There are dirty stuff on the carpets, many spiders, and poison ivy.! I'm saying this for you safety do not move here!

I had problems from the moment I moved in. First was the cleanliness of the place. The carpets looked okay, but the bathroom mirror, counter, and cabinets had splotches of paint all over then, and it was obvious they hadn't bothered to dust the vents before they were painted. They were absolutely caked with grime, all held together neatly with sloppily globbed paint. Ants were EVERYWHERE. They came out of the ceiling, the outlets, through gaps between the windows and walls (the windows themselves were either painted shut or so rusted that I couldn't budge them), and of course all throughout the kitchen. They even got into the airtight containers I stored food in. I made a few calls to the office, but never got any resolution. A couple weeks after I moved in, I get a knock on my door. It's maintenance, saying my bathtub is leaking into the apartment underneath me. Before I can say anything, the guy PUSHES HIS WAY (at the time I was a single woman living alone) into my apartment and tracks mud all the way from the front door to the bathroom. I have no idea if the bathtub was actually leaking, but I do know that Mr. Maintenance Man cracked a tile around one of the taps. The whole tile came off the next day, making yet another path for ants to get in. Again I called for a fix, and never got anywhere. And then there was the mold... mother of all that is holy, the mold. The ceiling tile above the (warped and wiggly) kitchen bar was so logged with water that it COLLAPSED ON TOP OF ME and covered me in pieces of tile and filthy water. Turns out my AC had been leaking, and probably had been long before I moved in. No way could that much water have accumulated in the scant year I'd been there. I reported it, but when I moved out about two weeks later, still no one had come to deal with it. Oh, and all that water that drenched me when the tile collapsed? Yeah it caused a rash. All over my neck, my chest, my face, my arms... it took two rounds of antibiotics and untold quantities of cortisone cream to get rid of it. Twelve months in this place was twelve months too long. The only good thing I can say about this place is that they didn't charge me for any of the above disasters.

Half the time, the office blows you off when you request mentenance. It took a month to get the water turned on in the full bath, and three weeks to replace a microwave that by that time I had already fixed (they gave me cheaper one). There is no security system, noise pollution at all hours, and a lot of drug use. The people below me (a couple living with five children in a two bed) smoke so much weed they stink up the entire building regularly. When our air conditioner broke, they just added Freon and told me it was good, completely dismissing what I had to say. (The unit was also about 30 years old) the windows aren’t properly sealed (they “don’t do that”), and you are lucky if half of your appliances are usable when you move in. On top of that, rent is higher than they claim and they will increase it without warning if you extend your lease, but at least they pay water.

Air conditioning has gone out 3 times this month alone. Maintenance never comes in a timely manner and the times they do show up they stand there for 3 minutes and leave without fixing anything. One leasing agent hit my car and said the scratches were already there and acted like it was my fault she hit my parked car. Water and sewage are free to distract from the fact we shouldn’t be paying for the rent. Contract is the only thing keeping me here.

Horrible!!! Black mold, termites, plumbing problems, flooded apartment. Office management rude and dismissive. Needs to be condemned. I’ve reported to health department and they are doing onsite visit. DO NOT MOVE HERE, DANGEROUS!!!!

I have lived at Carlton for almost 2 years. I have been happy with my apartment as its nice and quiet. I get along with my neighbors which I like. Living in an apartment building, you never know. I Really enjoy the curb appeal especially in the Spring time. Office staff are pleasant and friendly. Maintenance I have only met two of the guys when they came to fix my heat. They were quick to arrive and took care of the problem. I like that its total electric and they pay for water. I plan on renewing my lease here this Summer.

Trash compactors are a nightmare. People can't get their trash up into it so they just leave oh lay on the ground. There is no parking for the renter but the strays can sure as heck park there. There is no working on cars in spaces unless you live across the street from me and need to park extra cars in a spot on your side. THERE IS NOT ENOGH PARKING. Dont complain to office people as they just get crappy with you. No grills allowed. Not safe here, was almost attacked. Old and outdated apartments! Out of here as soon as 1 year lease is up.

Living in a box on 465 would have been better. They have "misplaced" my rent numerous times and have openly admitted to doing so. My downstairs neighbors are so loud (at all hours of the night) that I have slept in my car numerous times because I work and go to school full time. The front office had told us to call when they were being loud, doing what we were told we called and got told we were no longer allowed to call the front office for any reasons and would be arrested for harassment because my downstairs neighbors felt threatened after I had seen them in the hallway and had asked if they could quiet down (note they have showed up unannounced multiple times and I never said anything). I am in the process of moving out (thank god) and currently live in an apartment with black mold and a bathtub that is coming off the wall because they refuse to come fix anything. Also be aware that the maintenance crew likes to go through your personal belongings. The first time they came to fix my drain I came back to all my drawers and cabinets open and personal belongings gone through. DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS PLACE!
I love this layout. Open living room and dining room area. Brand new carpet. The kitchen\ laundry room is open with a lot of counter space. Huge closed patio, big kids room and ceiling fan in dining room. My 3yr old has plenty of room to run. Landscape is beautiful and I have seen several bass caught in the lake out back. Without judging this place by its staff, cause everyone doesn't love their job enough to care about the quality of service they provide, I have enjoyed my apartment.
I was in the market looking for a nice, comfortable, spacious apartment and my best friend's daughter lived at this location. My friend knew I was having a hard time trying to find the perfect location for me and to my employment, so she recommended me to where I currently reside know for almost 3 years. The area is a quick walk to any grocery store, fast food, restaurant etc. I have never had a problem with maintenance repairing anything in my home. The hallways are always vacuumed. The grounds and the grass are always nicely groomed. The pool area is always decorated nice, there are enough chairs to occupy the residents. Saved the best for last, the staff (office)have been wonderful for the start. Any repairs need to be done they are always willing to put in a work order for you and so gracious and friendly. All the ladies in the office need to be recognized.
This is my first apartment that I've ever lived in. I'm a single mom that lives in a one bedroom with my one year old. Although rent is somewhat cheap, it's kind of hard to afford it working at Wal-Mart and trying to pay tuition, a car note, daycare, and a light bill. I never win anything, but hopefully if I win this, I'll be able to catch up with some bills and finish paying for college.
Pros - affordable nice landscaping large ground floor patio is enclosed, great for pet good maintenance crew laundry in each bldg Cons - major problem with trash & furniture surrounding dumpsters office staff can be snarky
The maintenance is lack luster. They fix things at their own leisure. The apartments need to be upgraded. Rent is upped at least 30dollars every year and the staff are very very rude. I would never recommend this apartment.
Carlton apartments are pretty nice as far as appearance. The apartments are spacious depending on the layout. I am in the 1 bedroom lodge it's just enough room for 1 person no one else. Down falls are maintenance. I have been there for almost 2 years. I've had to have my dishwasher fixed close to 20 times because they won't replace it. Also the leasing agents in the office are very rude not customer friendly at all. If someone asked me about Carlton apartments, I wouldn't recommend it.
Wooden area with several ponds with waterfalls..picnic area provided. Secure neighborhood close to many ammemities...good school. system..management friendly and heful...maintaince friendly and helpful....pets allowed...a place to call home..
Rude office staff. No parking near my apartment past 9pm.
