Property Ratings at Carlton Arms North
The grounds are clean and well maintained. Apartment was perfect upon move in. Guard shack personnel are courteous, professional, and kind. Office staff are warm, responsive, helpful, and efficient.
My husband and I are just in the process of moving in but I love this complex so far! The staff in the leasing office are the best-most of them have been there for years and are friendly and helpful. We love the way our apartment is set up and the excellent use of space. Our new apartment is 130 sq. Ft. Smaller than our previous apartment but somehow feels larger and we are thrilled! The grounds are spotless. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to move here.
I don't usually take time to write reviews. But I recently had to move from my other place almost immediately and I contacted Carlton arms north and glad I did. They were kind, persistent and very helpful. They helped me get in here as soon as possible. Move in day was stressful but on their end made it very simple and easy and I’m very happy with the space. It was clean and well maintained. So far it’s exactly what I wanted peaceful and quiet. So far a great community.
Always hearing about people checking to see if car doors are unlocked and vehicles getting broke into, half the time you put in a maintenance request, ir takes at least 2 times to get it right. And after living here for three years I just a notice on my door that there not renewing my lease, never been a day late on rent, I called them for a reason and they said they didn't have to give me one. They raise the rent evey lease renewal and now there gonna start charging for water, this place is a joke.
I have been living here for 7 years and I love it. The grounds are well kept and the employees are kind and friendly. The maintenance department is quick to address any issues that come up although I have only had to contact them twice in the 7 years I've been here and I felt silly since it was only to change the batteries in the thermostat. I hear there is always a waiting list because it's worth the wait to get in here.
I don't usually take time to write reviews but I've been living here for over a year and I've been extremely happy and satisfied. I too was searching through apartments.com because reviews have always mattered to me, so I will be very honest with mine. I personally love that it's SO quiet and you will not have to worry about the usual college crowd making a lot of noise. The rent price is reasonable. The buildings are obviously older and I do think its part of their charm, but the place is so meticulous, clean, and very well kept, that it doesn't matter. The way they take care of the place speaks volumes about their priorities and management. The maintenance team goes above and beyond and the service is ridiculously fast! I haven't had one insect in my apartment all year and my few work orders were completed within 2-3 days. The office staff are very friendly and I do appreciate that they have been working there for many years so they know what they are talking about (I've had horrible experiences with part-time workers at other apartment places who didn't know what they were talking about). Carlton Arms North's rent policy is very strict and is due the first of every month but I can really appreciate that. They are also strict in who they approve to live in their community with proof of income etc. (I've known many people who were denied). Although they don't have on-site security, that says a lot about their history of being a safe place. The entrance staff do a great job and the new facility that was built for them looks great. The lakes are beautiful, parking is plenty, and their facilities are enough. Highly recommend.

We are so happy you decided to take the time to leave us this glowing rating and review! This insightful feedback about everything you love at our community is greatly appreciated and we're delighted to hear that you highly recommend Carlton Arms North. Here's to many more years leasing with us and of course, as always, please let us know if we can ever be of assistance with questions or concerns. Thank you!
This complex used to be very nice and had good residents. Lately the place has gone downhill. The grounds are still well kept, but now they lease to almost anyone. I could here my neighbors every move; music and every time they closed a kitchen cabinet. My bathroom was full of black mold around the tub and the air conditioning had a foul odor. Exiting the property is deadly at rush-hour so turn right on Fletcher if you can. The rent is going sky high because demand is high in the rental area around USF and they take full advantage to raise rents. Look in New Tampa for newer better properties.
The grouds are filthy, the grass is full of dog poo from owners who don't pick up after themself. The front guard area is mostly for show. they sit in the office and let cars go by with or without tags. the apartments are old and falling apart. The laundry room is filthy and the machines are always broken. the leasing office is rude. I was excited about living here I must admit, however once i moved in it was a totally different story.. a horrible place .. you've been warned
I love were I live because it's like a park meets a secluded island. Carlton Arms North has a great staff. Matenice replied within 1 week , I've had them help even sooner. The trees and plants are so well maintained that it's like a botanical garden. The security makes me feel great! If you do not have a tag on your car saying your a resident or stop by the gate to get a temporary tag they chase you down and ask for ID . In other words no one gets in without a reason. I love my new home!
Carlton Arms North Tampa (off of Fletcher Ave.) is a good apartment complex - guards at the only entrance/exit; really clean and well manicured grounds. I will say that a few of the things that aren't so cool are that the guards can be a little aggressive if you're not a resident and their laundry facility always has broken washers/dryers that never seem to be repaired. Overall, good place!
This is a very good place to live, for working people and students. The location is very close to, shops, the mall, the college, and public transportation. The office staff, is great and polite, as well as the 24 hour security staff. The grounds are well maintain, and repairs, if needed, are handled, quickly. It has two large pools, two laundry sites, clubhouse and gym. It is a place , I looking forward to coming home to everyday.
There is no "0" option for office staff, that's why I have to rate it as "1". They are rude.
We just signed for another year because this place is the best, the grounds are beautiful, service to the apartment when we have called is within 2 or 3 hours, we just can't said enough about the beauty of this community, the lakes, the trees, the club house, the excellent costumer service of the office's personnel. It is located very close to I-75, and close to supermarkets and restaurants but outside the heavy traffic area. We just love it

I've lived here for exactly two weeks (townhome), and I can't agree more with the honest posting by AK. I am a very quiet woman who values peace and quiet in my surroundings, especially where I live. It's very disappointing to discover, quite early into my lease, that my peace and quiet is determined by my neighbors AND THEIR KIDS! And yes, unbeknownst to me prior to moving here, it's true that the demographics skew heavily to those from I_d_a, and yes, it's true that their kids don't have much discipline -- and they do have A LOT of kids! I don't blame the kids; it's the fault of the adults around them that allow them to scream and squeal at unreasonable decibels in such close proximity to other neighbors. There is a small child (around 2 y.o.) that SCREAMS/SQUEALS at the top of her/his lungs when she/he is playing on the patio ACROSS THE LAKE(!) from me. Woke me up one morning out of a deep sleep, and when I looked out my window, the adult was just sitting there (I guess thinking that it was so cute). I know that children get excited when playing, but their parents should keep in mind that this is apartment living and EVERYONE deserves to be comfortable in their respective homes. But, the mindset seems to be that they can do whatever they want at whatever hour because they're paying rent. I have a kid next door (who entertains visiting kids) and they're very loud as well, which makes just hanging on my patio enjoying a book, or just watching the wildlife in peace, impossible. (These kids are school-age, so why aren't they in school during the weekdays anyway?!) One morning the father came out onto his patio while having a LOUD conversation on his phone at 7:30 a.m.! He then walked back-and-forth in front of his patio and mine for 10+ minutes while speaking loudly. These patios are right under our master bedrooms, so that was another morning where a neighbor here became my unwanted alarm clock. This all occurred during my first week here. Also, keeping your windows open when you just want fresh air will sometimes fill your kitchen with intense cooking smells. Maintenance is speedy and thorough and, so far, I haven't had any of the issues with the office staff (i.e., rudeness) that I've read about in other reviews on another site. Ground maintenance does have a lot of area to cover daily, so they do start early (sometimes around 7:30 a.m.) which also makes sleeping in impossible for those who are home during the day. Overall, CAN seems like a nice place to reside but just like any other community, if your neighbors are loud, inconsiderate and/or rude, it makes your daily existence very unpleasant. I was praying that this would be a place where I could be at peace for several years, but it's looking, early on, like it may not be.
I moved in 3 years ago. I've had 3 families live on one side of me and 2 on the other. The walls are very thin and the master bedroom overlooks the patios in the town homes so having considerate neighbors is a must if you like to sleep in on weekends. What I have noticed is the complex is predominately ppl from another country which this system won't let me say which w/out highlighting things in red. I'm from another country too so I didn't mind at first. Well 2 of the 3 families that have lived on one side of me were from the same country. The kids have no bedtime. They run up and down the stairs like that's their playground. The women do not work and they visit each other all day and the kids are all over the property on weekends. They are loud and unaware of their surroundings. It's really annoying. The pluses are: responsive office and maintenance staff; spacious units and patios; minimal to no pest issues due to monthly pest control. Down side is: expensive; loud depending on which unit you live in; walls are thin; units are old; a/c can be an issue since windows are old; mold can be an issue if a/c unit leaks (mine does); you may have to run your a/c at a lower temperature than you would in a newer home. Mine is usually at 75; although the patios are nice they are not covered so your lawn furniture will get wet.
Nice place, just cant understand why they did not put Washers and dryers in the units. We decided not to live there based on that .
