Property Ratings at Carolina Apartments
Sewage issues, units literally leak sewage from ceilings, tenants have sued for unaddressed maintenance issues and breaches in building code. Black mold. Increasingly deteriorating security. Unresponsive landlord and property manager. Code-entry locks broken and unrepaired. Homeless presence indoors/outdoors. Vacant units left open and unlocked for squatters. Hazardous construction waste left in common quarters for months - filthy and unkept, human and pet waste left on floors of lobby for weeks. Obvious gas leaks. Syringes in stairwells, inside and out. Windows remain broken for months. On-site laundry amenities expensive and poorly functioning. Virtually no parking. What is available will leave your car regularly side-swiped. Chronic mail theft. Rent increases regardless.
Since hurricane, building has been riddled with mold. Owner George has not corrected issues and ignores tenant needs. Unsafe.
I love this place!!! Has over 100 years of history and famous people such as Dennis Hopper and Marylin Monroe have stayed hear. Six stories high with an elevator, a secret spiral stair way and an outside staircase. Ceilings are tall and the place is huge like a house on the inside. Large windows and old vintage style trim gives it a hip brooklyn feel to it. On top of it all, the landlord and owner are very good people and cater to any needs that you ask for. Location is also the best, 3 blocks from front street in downtown right off Market Street. I would recommend this place to anyone with a professional career and not a typical college party kid that bumps music real loud. Although there are responsible college kids who live hear and are a delight to be around! This place is great!!!!!
