Wildewood is one of Columbia’s most sought after neighborhoods. This wooded locale is best known for housing several golf courses and the Sesquicentennial State Park, which offers kayaking, trails, and a dog park. With an award-winning school district and plenty of restaurants and stores nearby, Wildewood is a great option for families, although anyone can enjoy this Southern neighborhood. Wildwood is also near the Sandhill Research and Education Center, so it's a great option for people who want to be close to campus. Residents have access to U.S. Route 1 and Interstate 20 and 77 so they can travel throughout the metro area with ease. Great for commuters seeking a pastoral escape, Wildewood is 14 miles northwest of Downtown Columbia.

Property Ratings at Carrington Place at Wildewood
Do not move here if you like being locked out of the management office everyday and never being told anything. I have been trying for almost two months at this point to communicate with management about the renewal of my lease. They became so difficult/disappeared daily I decided to just cut my losses and not renew. I would rather deal with the trouble of moving my entire life to a new apartment than stay here. They will not answer any of my emails, calls, or physically unlock the doors so I know they got my non-renewal notice. The lease specifies that you need to give 60 days notice of not wanting to renew or you owe more money/they renew it for you. Well, they will not acknowledge I have told them about not wanting to renew. I have tried every possible thing to tell them I want to leave. So, I will continue to go everyday with a physical letter until I am able to move to my next apartment. I am posting this as more proof of trying to tell them I AM NOT RENEWING MY LEASE with more than 60 days notice they required.
Management isn’t attentive to the needs of the residents. Recent car break ins and the value of this place has declined significantly.
Its a quiet place to live. A idea location to work and shop.
Carrington Place is a great place to reside. Its peaceful and they take pride in the appearance of the grounds. We really dont hear our neighbors at all, so the noise level is never an issue. The staff in the office are great to deal with. My only complaint would be maintenance. In my opinion the response on calls are to long.
The Carrington Place at Wildewood is a one of a kind neighborhood. The apartment home is spacious and beautiful. The environment is safe and peaceful. The amenities are top notch and the rental rate is absolutely reasonable.
It has been Good! The community is well kept and clean. There is no noise within the area. I appreciate this since I work through the day and want to rest in the evening. My last apartment had a family of 5 above me and there was noise "all the time" and lots of pounding and running above me.
Very beautiful place to call home. Very clean and quiet. The neighbors and staff are very nice and pleasant.
Worth the money. Management staff is nice and willing to help.
The trash continues to pile up at this place and ALL they do is send out emails saying that it is the residents fault that they do not press the compact button! It's a pretty easy fix, have it emptied more frequently! This is a health violation as it piles up each and every week and has been this way well over year! The breezeways are in desperate need of cleaning on each unit and you have to constantly dodge poop on the sidewalk. Repeated attempts are necessary to have a maintenance concern taken care of. Very unhappy with the current problems that only seem to get worse.
The complex appears to be very well-maintained. That is unusual for new buildings these days. Im glad I got into a complex that has good structure, maintenance and cleanliness.
Quiet apartment living. Maintenance respondS better when management is aware. Office staff is easy to work with
Carrington Place is a very nice community. Its quiet, well maintained and the apartments are beautiful. Weve been very pleased.
The staff is wonderful, including maintenance. I would rev omens to friends looking for apartments
Carrington Places has a warm and welcoming staff. The neighborhood is peaceful and quite yet has a great location. I love the ability to have an attached garage.
Very poor maintenance service, I’m a resident and I have requested emergency maintenance request and no one showed up since a week and I have called management and told about urgency they are least bothered.... very poor management and maintenance service ... I will Not recommend Carrington Apartments so to anyone ....
Carrington Place is truly a beautiful place to live. I have a little dog and I can take him walking to a lot of places. They even have a dog park. I also love walking with him around the pond and seeing all of the birds, squirrels, bunny rabbits, ducks and geese. It's a special place of nature, with trees, and lots of flowers. I love the people in the office, they work hard, and they really care about me as a resident.
Over all it is a beautiful place and great location.
Love it, good travel to fort Jackson and anything else you may need. Super cute apartment.
Everyone from maintenance to management have been so friendly, helpful, and thoughtful.
I moved into Carrington Place a little over a year ago. The staff was absolutely amazing. (especially Tara! She was VERY helpful friendly and kind) If you had maintenance issues, they were quick with getting the issues resolved etc. Within the past 3-6 months this community has really went down. It sometimes takes up to 2 weeks to get maintenance issues resolved, you have to call or go by there over and over for them to say, "I'm sorry, our maintenance is short staff" (That's NOT the residents problem) what if we said, "our bank accounts are short?", You still expect rent to be paid on the 1st of the month!! Yet, you see the maintenance guys riding the golf carts all day with their red cup in hand, hiding out and ducked off in the maintenance shed!! They have a portal that sometimes works and when you contact the leasing office, NO one can seem to EVER figure out how to fix it, you'll hear, "let me get your number and I'll call you back when I find out something " I'm STILL waiting on a call back and that was since August!! I've been calling the office for the past 3 months to find out the price of the rent (that's bc it fluctuates) I've even asked if they could put a notice in my box or email me the monthly amount since I'm having issues with the portal, THEY HAVE YET TO DO THAT IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS! When it comes to packages, their system with notifying residents that they have a package is in the office is HORRIBLE!! (they have an entire room FULL of packages, THAT RESIDENTS MAY NOT EVEN KNOW IS THERE, b/c the property FAILS to put ANY notifications in your box to inform you!) God forbid if someone is sending you a surprise gift, if they don't let you know they've mailed anything NEITHER WILL MANAGEMENT! The Customer Service in this apartment complex is HORRIBLE!! They're all smiles and giggles prior to signing the lease but once you're locked in, you see managements real side! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMMUNITY TO ANYONE, you can pay cheaper rent somewhere else and receive MUCH BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE than what's offered at Carrington Place! This has been BY FAR THE WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX I HAVE EVER STAYED IN!! And I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL MY LEASE IS UP!!
I was a tenant at Carrington Place Apartments for one year. My stay there was decent. The grounds are beautiful, it’s pretty quiet out. I wish they offered valet trash pick up. (There are cheaper apartments in the area that offer trash pick up from your door). However the apartments are pretty mediocre for the price. I had to sign my lease while I was out of the country and the apartment I toured was different from the one I actually moved into. The apartment I moved into had wall paint that looked as if it had been applied by a five year old. It had not been thoroughly cleaned at all so I had to pay someone to “re clean” my apartment because whomever they had “hired”to clean the apartment prior to me moving in definitely did not clean it. I also dealt with bugs getting into my unit on multiple occasions. After complaining I was told to buy some raid. Really? Isn’t pest control included in the rent? (It’s definitely included in the rent) They also advertise themselves as being a “gated community” but the gate is left open more than it’s actually closed. The final straw for me though was when I was planning to move out Kara gave me one price that I owed and then on actual move out day Monica gave me a different price. It was significantly lower than what Kara had quoted me a few months prior so I questioned Monica about it. She assured me that was the correct price and even sent me an email confirming that amount. After paying that amount a month later I billed for more money. Kara also told me that they had rented my unit to someone else but they are still billing me through the days after I left although she told me weeks ago my unit was rented. When I questioned that, I was told “oh well they changed their mind at the last minute and decided on a different unit.” Who knows if that’s really true. I was very upset and disappointed that they are expecting me to pay an amount that is totally different from what I was emailed. I received no apology or no attempt to rectify the situation or mistakes made on their end. Bottom line, unless you’re a fan of pest, broken gates, and office managers who say on thing and expect you to pay for another, then I recommend you renting at another complex.
My husband & I love living here, I would 100% recommend it to anyone. Everyone here (both staff and neighbors) are extremely nice, the grounds are very well kept, the path around the pond is beautiful, and I feel safe at night if I go for a run. My husband loves the apartment b/c it's an open floor plan with our bedroom being separated from the kitchen/living room so it doesn't have that typical apartment feel. My favorite thing about living here is how QUIET it is! We came from another apartment complex where we heard our neighbors being loud outside or blasting music from their cars at all hours of the night, but not here. The interstate being less than 5 minutes away is also very helpful for work.
I love theses apartments, they always have something going on in the complex.. like dinner or breakfast at the gate this is when they have someone come in and cater.. they have pool parties, wine tasting and much more.. the office staff are very nice and they always go out of there way to help you..
Carrington Place is a wonderful place to stay. The apartment is in a very safe neighbor. I love the fact that the people who work here take pride of the apartment grounds. It’s very clean and pet friendly. So if you’re in Columbia, South Carolina thinking about moving to Columbia, SC then come check out my community. This might be the place you are looking for to start you family out or even if you just want to have the insurance of being safe.
From the first time I stepped into the main office I felt like I had lived here at Carrington Place my whole life. Mrs. Monica was so welcoming to my wife and I that it was very hard when we were making our decision because there were some cheaper apartments that met our needs, but you cannot put a price on that type of hospitality. Once we took a tour of the grounds it was really to good to be true. The whole complex has so much landscape and scenery. The lake that the grounds are built around have such rich and beautiful wildlife. From turtles to cranes, and grilles that are set up every so often along the walkway, the lake always starts and ends my day so serenely. Now to the apartments themselves; I have been here for a year and they come and spray for bugs every quarter. If I have ever had a problem the maintenance personnel have immediately taken care of it, even on the weekends. The bedrooms are very spacious and the closets offer a great amount of space. I personally love the way the kitchen semi opens up to the living room while incorporating a counter that still allows for attending to cooking and entertaining guests. Even though it is one huge room altogether it is easy to distinguish what is the living room and the dining room. That makes it feel even more like home. My wife and i downsized from a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath house to a two bedroom 2 bathroom apartment and it was the best decision for us. Of course we have a storage unit it is still so much cheaper for us to rent than it was to have a house that size. We have two 30 lb. dogs and they are so very happy here. With all the landscape and scenery for them they never go bored. The dog park is a bit small and I do wish they would make it bigger it is still enough for us to utilize. We get to meet a whole bunch of other pet lovers there. The people that live here as well are so nice. We definitely feel lucky and blessed to live here.
This place is beautiful, peaceful, great for pets, and has lots of activities! Everyone is so friendly and the security is excellent! We love it!!!
