In 1824, the Marquis de Lafayette -- a key figure in the American Revolution -- visited the United States and was repaid for his help (both military and financial) during the war with money and land. Some of that land was in Florida, and French settlers began to move in -- including Caroline Bonaparte's son, Prince Achille Murat. The neighborhood became known as Frenchtown.
Later, Frenchtown became famous for its jazz music and was an important part of the African-American culture in Tallahassee. As one of the oldest and most historic neighborhoods in the city, Frenchtown offers great views of the city skyline, historic architecture, and proximity to everything Tallahassee has to offer -- including Florida State University, which borders the neighborhood along Tennessee Street.

Property Ratings at Casanas Village At Frenchtown Square
FAIR WARNING! STAY FAR FAR AWAY from this complex. If I could give no stars I would. Quick run down…the apartments are infested with silverfish, the main doors and elevators to enter are always broke so anyone can enter, the rent always increase even after you signed your lease, car vandalized and broken into and management does nothing to help even after filing a police report and they have cameras, the apartment walls are very thin, management never answer the phones, office almost always is closed, trash chute dirty and filthy, your packages will get stolen out of package room so don’t even bother ordering anything…it’s a camera in the package room but it’s useless. The inside of the apartments are nice but trust me you will regret moving here. They always have apartments available because nobody ever stays here long.
this is the place for you if you love being lied to, charged for damages you didn’t even do, left out, spied on etc lived her for 6 months and i can honestly say this place drove me insane and i will never recommend this property to anyone
Seem nice until you stay here. The property itself is cool. By this being a mid-rise apartment I don’t think all the ins and outs was thought about in detail. Trash shots- Seem like a good idea but they never clean them hence leaving file odors in the hallways. Especially if your apartment is right by it. This place always reeks of weed or smoke. Very disgusting since it’s suppose to be smoke-Free. It’s suppose to be controlled access but the door in the garage has been broken over two months now. Anyone can access the building with out being buzzed in. The access command which you buzz guest in has not been working for months now. No trash cans placed on the property. Which leads people to just dropping trash wherever they feel like it. Which make the place look run down and dirty. Since the building uses a sonitrol like key to enter. No extra keys to parents or kids. You are only allowed the number of keys for whose on the lease. Maintenance is super slow. I mean No one wipe down the common areas such as the elevator which is always trashy or wet lately! Moving in sucks...no one and I mean no one thought this through. There’s no official loading dock area since this is a mid rise and you have to use the same elevator as the people who are just trying to get to their apartment. You have to park a mile from the either door. I’m getting a headache thinking about moving out now. It’s not all bad but can really use some improvements to make the living experience better. Ohh...the office never ever never answer the phone. You have to call and call until you forget what you was calling for. Just ride by and take a close look before you sign on the dotted line..,,
