Property Ratings at Cascade Pointe
I have lived with Pointe for three years and management has always been polite and quick to respond. They have always been available if I ever needed anything. Overall, great place to live.
I've lived here for a little over 5 years, and the recent rent increase makes this complex not worth it. Since moving in, I had multiple maintenance issues, including moldy faucets, my toilet becoming partially unscrewed from the floor, baseboards falling off, etc. Not to mention the constant power outages whenever there is a big storm. While the maintenance team are very kind and great themselves, management is another story. They have been very rude to me when I called in a request, literally hanging up on me once when I asked for a time estimate. It's understandable to have a delay, but treating your tenant like that was the breaking point for me. Bottom line - management has terrible customer service and do not care. There are plenty other places in Blacksburg that are worth your money - this is not it.
I have rented from Atilla for over 6 years and Cascades Pointe has been a wonderful experience. Atilla is proactive in addressing any concerns/issues that arise. Stephen is quick to respond to maintenance requests as well. Management practices are far better here compared to many other places in the NRV.
It is a 10 min bus ride from school and very quiet place. Especially, I like the fact that it is very well managed and the owner responds quickly.
As a resident of one unit and owner of a rental unit, I can recommend this community for students and professionals for long or short term living. The buildings, remodeled in 2006, are kept in very good condition, with new roofs very recently, as well as re-paving of the parking lot and other necessary updates. Cascades Pointe is very close to most retail outlets one would need. This is a good choice of residence and the rents are comparable to the majority of places in town. These units are well sought after by new residents in Blacksburg and the investment potential is very promising.
Me and my roommate have been living here for about 3 years now and it's been great. Atilla and Stephen are very nice and helpful people and we never had issues with them or the apartment. the location is great in my opinion since kroger is nearby and also cvs. there are two bus stops within a minute walk and two busses, MSS and MSA so it is very easy to get to places. The apartment itself is spacious compared to some that i have seen in the area.
I recently moved out but my experience has been generally good. The area is pretty nice and quite. The apartment complex is not of a modern style but for me it was not a big deal. The landlord is proactive in offering assistance to fixing things or any other tasks if you need. Two things I particularly like about the landlord and the manager relative to all the others I have experienced are (1) responsiveness and (2) fairness on deductions from a deposit. You would definitely appreciate these elements.
Immediately when moving in, structural issues. Poor maintenance when fixing things ...left spackle on wall and not painted. Expect apartment to be in showroom state when moving out. Will nitpick and charge you for everything. Washing machine is too small. Can only wash 2 towels at a time...smallest washer ever. Do not recommend.
For a number of years now I have enjoyed living at Cascade Pointe. The apartments have all been renovated a few years back so the kitchen, appliances and counter tops are modern and attractive. My place has an open floor plan. There is a washer and dry in my unit. The place is quiet and right on the bus line. Kroger and the Cinebowl are within walking distance. The only problem is that some people need to clean up after their dogs. Other than that, things here have been great!
I simply loved living here. The unit was fairly new when I arrived and was clean and well-maintained; I stayed for two years while in graduate school. The floor plan is inviting and allowed for wonderful roommate living; the closets were a barrier between the rooms that reduced almost all noise. Big windows allowed wonderful light on the third floor and vaulted ceilings extra space. I was so sad to leave Blacksburg, and this great place was a reason why. Management is kind, friendly, and prompt. I recommend!
The home owners are very kind and easy to work with. I haven't had any problems with the home and I have been here about half a year. It isn't overly big, 3 bed 2 bath. The rooms are a little small, but they are cozy and it is a little off main street so it is pretty quiet and compared to other parts of Blacksburg, it is reasonable rent and the security deposit isn't ridiculous, and that is just the start. It is within a mile (1) of everything you can need, there is the Imax right across the street, restaurants all around, shopping, grocery store.... everything. I walked in and thought it was a decent place, now that I have been here a while, I want to own it.
