Legendary in American history as the home of George Washington, the community of Mount Vernon is named after the first president’s longtime residence on the bank of the Potomac River. Beyond the historic landmark, the broader community of Mount Vernon is a delightful Washington, D.C. suburb with easy access to Capitol Hill, Fort Belvoir, and Quantico, making it a great home base for commuters. Huntley Meadows Park on the north side provides a sprawling venue for enjoying time outdoors, with smaller parks like Grist Mill within walking distance for many locals.

Property Ratings at Cascade West
This place is absolutely disgusting and crawling with cockroaches. After we signed the lease and came to this place, we discovered cockroaches packed into the doorframe and crevices of this place. We've had our unit treated multiple times since moving into to no avail, the small amount of money we saved by moving will be lost attempting to move out without transmitting the infestation into our new home. It is absolutely not worth the price and is downright nasty. I would go back in time and not move in here if I could. Absolutely terrible mistake.

Hi! Thank you so much for the 5-star rating and review. We appreciate you and hope you have a wonderful day!
I have been living at Cascade West Apartments since 2014, and have had the best experiences with office staff and most of the maintenance staff as well. The property is very well cared for, and maintenance issues are resolved very quickly. Office staff are friendly and tend to go above and beyond to make sure all residents are taken care of in a professional, yet very warm and caring way. I recommend this place highly. :)

Cheers to almost 7 years! We appreciate your kind review, and we hope you continue loving life here!
New laminate throughout - NO carpet! Apartment was clean when we moved in - including windows, walls, floor & cabinets. Granted, it is not a new complex, so walls are painted glossy, but all the nail holes were expertly filled and it was bright and fresh. Each unit has its own parking spot, hot water heater and most have new stove, dishwasher, fridge & cabinets. The electric heaters work perfectly and windows front and back give you a wonderful cross breeze to maintain fresh interior. Exterior is well maintained too and the pretty landscape is kept neat. The coin operated laundry room is clean and you can buy soda there too. The trash uses a compactor now; there is always room to toss in your bags, so this is never an issue. Staff very responsive, I had trouble with my garbage disposal and they fixed it in less than 24 hours. The staff is friendly and helpful. Pay on time, live quietly and you will find it a wonderful place to call home. Sad to leave.

Thank you so much for the review! While we are sad to see that you are leaving, we could not be happier to see that we were able to provide you with such a wonderful place to call home! We always have our residents in mind and we are pleased to know you were always provided with great care. We thank you for your time here and wish you the best going forward.
These units are a great place for students and are right by the bus line. the neighbors are pretty low key and keep to themselves too. (Certain songs get played pretty like clockwork, but no one's loud or obnoxious about it) And the rates are pretty great for the area as well! If there ever is a problem, just be sure to let the office know about it though! They are very nice and helpful with any problems you may have.
These apartments are in the perfect location. If you are going to college they are right across the street. If you have school age kids, there are elementary and Jr. high schools nearby. There is a theater across the street where some pretty big acts appear from time to time. We are real close to both shopping centers and churches. People here are friendly and the management really tries to work with you on maintenance issues. I am 56 years old and have been living in apartments since I was 21 and I have to say that this is the best apartment complex that I have ever lived in.
