The largest city in North Dakota, Fargo rests on the North Dakota-Minnesota border and the western banks of the Red River. However, Fargo residents affectionately refer to their location as “North of Normal.”
You might find that Fargo is a bit different when you stop by the Fargo-Moorhead Visitor Center and see the woodchipper from the movie Fargo. Maybe it’ll be when you start spotting members of the colorful herd of bison painted by various artists scattered all around town, and rightfully decide to go on a scavenger hunt to find them all. Perhaps you’ll find it unique that Wurst Bier Hall serves a rattlesnake rabbit bratwurst and indulge your curiosity. You’ll notice that North of Normal is a pretty interesting place to be.
There’s no shortage of things to do in Fargo. Plains Art Museum and Rourke Art Gallery and Museum offer residents and visitors endless opportunities to admire art with all kinds of rotating exhibits.

Property Ratings at Cascades Apartments
Staff is extremely rude when you need anything. Moved into an extremely dirty apartment & management had nothing to say for it, insisted they would get it cleaned professionally like they say they do before every move in, but didn’t. I would not recommend them at all, there are so many better rental companies in Fargo! Don’t ignore the low reviews.
The units are nice, don’t get me wrong. However, when it comes to the communication with the management team, it is not great, at all. They are kind in the beginning but become annoyed when you find issues regarding your apartment. For instance, we’ve called numerous times regarding our lights that went out coincidentally after we moved in. However, when we notified them that our lights were out in one of the bedrooms, both closets and in the laundry room, we were told it was our responsibility, to purchase the light bulbs and change them. However, we did not know that we had to personally change the lights, especially with the type of fixtures that they have in the unit. This experience with the Cascades was sort of off putting, because the way the leasing agent spoke on the phone, was unprofessional and inconsiderate. One bad experience, doesn’t make the entire place bad, but let’s you know how they are and to not expect much more from them. Also, the other lady is correct, there was a lot of ice caused by snow, but the management didn’t have any sort of salt or anything laid out on the ground, which caused several falls. Once again, this is just our personal experience with the Cascades, this could be different for many residing at the Cascades, but as for us, it was kind of disappointing because the unit is beautiful and we wish to be here longer, but the issues of the management seem to overrule the beauty of the property. If you plan on moving here, it is a nice place to be, the residents barely make noise or are even seen in the halls, but just be a bit cautious is all. Hope this helps someone.
I do not recommend living here or renting from fargo rents. They were great until we moved in. Almost half way through our lease we still weren't even in the entry way paging system. The tub filled with water when we first moved in because it was clogged with the people before us hair (yuck). They hardly ever salt the sidewalks so i fell this past winter, thankfully my newborn wasn't with me. The list continues. Awful experience.
I've been living in the Cascades for just under year and I'm very happy with it. The building is secure and each person gets their own personal door code. One bedroom apartments are very spacious with stainless steel appliances. They allow cats, and the rent is reasonable considering what you're paying for. I would highly recommend the Cascades and if I weren't moving to Arizona I would plan on staying there much longer.
Overall, I think these are good apartments for the price. You can tell that they were constructed as cheaply as possible (wall AC unit, baseboard heat that is hard to control with your thermostat, no elevator, etc.). On the other hand, if you're looking for a place that has the essentials (dishwasher, washer/dryer in unit, garage), these are good apartments. The fact that they are new and look nice doesn't hurt either. I recommend them, but just know that if you can spend more money, it's probably worth it to get some place that has an elevator and central AC and heat.
