Cascades at Northlake Apartments

I have been a resident for a few years and have enjoyed my stay here. The office staff are very nice and all helpful. I also love the overall cleanness of the community.

So far any issue I have reported has been fixed in a timely manner. Communication about events are given with plenty of notice and reminders.

The lack of response from lease renewal to renters insurance leaves something to be desired. My problems never get resolved within a timely manner.

Moved in two weeks ago. Due to the prolonged lease and all the issues that came with it, we didn’t sign until the actual move in day. We had toured a different unit of the same floor plan. After signing and getting the keys, we walked into our unit for the first time and there was a strong mothball smell. Two weeks later is still here, after numerous cans of Lysol, febreeze, airing out and having to rent a steam cleaner (because the carpets were old and filthy). Hope to get the smell gone soon. I sent an email that went unattended to, as well as told someone in person at the office (she didn’t write any of it down) not sure how to get this smell out but it’s getting really irritating. Don’t think the unit was properly handled before move in, due to smell, old carpets, as well as a light fixture that was left hanging off the ceiling in the closet. Not to mention the first week here we saw a unit getting new carpets so that just makes it more frustrating. Cascades has a lot of work to do

It’s been good. Not to happy about being forced to pay for WiFi that I don’t want. Especially when I have a better plan through another company.

Great quiet place to live, valet trash, nice gym and club house for residents. Walking trail. And shops nearby. Staff is nice and attentive

I think Cascades has the potential to be a 5 star property. There are things that I pay for as a resident that should be easily accessible and functional. There are gym machines that need tending to, the pet washroom also needs to be fixed or replaced, the proper sanitation at the dog park, both the pools being functional, and possibly security. There are people who are smoking weed in the gym/pool house. I have kids and I hate for them to go there to workout because it smells so bad. The staff is helpful if I bring an issue to them, but no one wants a nag, so I have stopped saying anything. I do enjoy the location, and my home, just minor issues. This is not a negative or positive review. It is just an honest one.

Best community to live in. Maintenance staff respond promptly to work orders . Leasing staff always makes me feel welcomed coming in. Largest gym I’ve ever seen in a community and they have two big pools.

It’s nice i had a lot of issues but it tend to get fixed after a while. My apartment got changed the day i moved in and the apartment i moved in was not freshed someone had just moved out and needed work to be done on it.

The community has been great so far! I had no issues with anything as of yet. This will be my first summer in the community and I am looking forward to utilize the pool area.

I love my community and my spacious apartment. I have never had any issues. The views are amazing & so are the people in the leasing office. They always make me feel welcomed and Like I belong in the community

A wonderful place to stay. New management and better life. They are pet friendly with such a magnificent dog park. They have a patrol officer(s) all night to keep the complex safe at all time.They are doing such a wonderful job.

Been here for 2 years now. Was decent when Cortland owned it, highmark ran this place into the ground. Someone was shot in the building across from me took a month to address it, no security. Gym is always unlocked, no resident events. There were always multiple events a month with Cortland plus free fitness classes. Management is a joke. I had no AC for TEN days, 0 accountability and will take legal action if anything even remotely close to that happens again.

Great, definitely a good community, when help is needed with repairs etc it is super easy to put in a request and have it fixed, only thing I am worried about is renewing the lease, hoping rent prices will be about the same, other than this the place os great, some roaches but most apartments will have, also have kill bait set out but still have them.

I don’t like the change where people can just walk into your apartment without notifying you. It’s not a lot of communication and it makes me feel like I don’t want to be here.

There have been numerous break-ins to cars, there have been drive-by shootings, the staff gives insufficient notice on any inspections or maintenance, threatens to break the lock if you don’t leave the door unlocked (in a place that has break ins and shootings!) or rearrange your whole schedule to be there, the amenities don’t work half as well as they should for the cost, you’ll get charged for valet trash that seems like they don’t show up half the time, and the waste bags they provide for pet owners so thin it might as well not exist. Overall, I’d suggest you keep looking

The office staff have been great, I really appreciate the teams in helping me solve a billing issue. I have lived at the apartments for a few years and the experience has been great.

Apartments are beautiful. Maintenance and leasing office are great. The leasing office ensures that all requests are met in a timely manner.

It’s very calm here and it’s not too loud The only thing I can say is the communication on certain things could be better.This is a nice place to be at .

After three years of being here, looking forward to moving away. the place has gone downhill, and it sucks because this used to be a great apartment

Decent place to live. I like the convenience of the location. Lots of stores around & not too far from downtown. I do wish amenities would be kept up better

I've been at Northlake Cascades since June 2024. The office staff is great and the maintenance team come quickly whenever I had a maintenance request. The apartments grounds are kept clean. The only negative that is in place is the towing company. It's not enough visitor parking and the towing company don't care. You have to make an appointment to pick up your own car. There are massive car break ins and stealing within the complex. I have went out to the parking lot and seen several cars broken into and glass on the ground. Two things: Get more visitor parking or only tow cars that are abandoned, busted windows instead of cars parked in regular parking spots. Secondly, improve the security to help with car break ins. The apartments themselves are nice.

Things have been just fine since my move-in in July. There were a few things that needed to be fixed but the new maintenance men are AMAZING. I truly enjoy being here.

Just renewed my lease, I had some trouble with the incorrect amount showing up on the payment statement. I'm very thankful for the young man in the office for his patience and help for getting this issue corrected.

We just moved in, and we like it already! I really appreciate Maya and Naya for all of their help. Shoutout to Noah and Vanessa for helping us with any questions we had on move-in day????

i have been here for 2 weeks and so far everything has been great! i had an issue with my microwave and they came out and fixed it immediately!!

My experience here at Cascades at Northlake has been nothing shy of amazing! From the self guided tour and the beautifully designed and spacious homes, to meeting the office staff, being greeted by friendly neighbors during move in and not to mention how beautiful the community is! My favorite feature would definitely be the workout facilities! This is truly the best apartment complex I have lived at in the Charlotte area. I am extremely pleased with this community!

Everything went great. Staff has been super professional and accommodating to us. Any questions or concerns have been answered as quickly as possible.

I’ve been overcharged for various fees (like getting two separate charges regarding valet trash), the landings are filthy, the leasing office doesn’t follow through on their promises, and the pool has been closed more often than it’s been open. Yet they focus on replacing the signage like that fixes the problems. It’s frustrating to be in an apartment where there’s very little communication and almost no care for the residents that already live there.

things could be a little better but i see them working on improving . looks like new management is trying and i can appreciate that . location is great tho lol

I have been here since the end of May. I truly love my living experience thus far. I hope nothing changes. The only thing that can be worked on is more security around the premises.

Good. Some neighbors are loud but you can’t control who you live around. Leasing staff has always been friendly and helpful. Maintenance team is friendly and thorough.

My experiences have gotten better. There have been improvements; the large tipster is gone, and service request are now being responded to promptly.

I’ve been here for over 5 years and I’ve definitely seen a big change. For starters the trash is horrible! Something definitely needs to be done about these dumpsters and how trash is being dumped outside the trash. The staircase and hallways need to be washed down and cleaned. These stairs are very nasty and dirty. Also paying all these fees for trash and pests control and more trash fees I just don’t see the justification for it. This community needs to do better. Great community at great prices, if they stay that way things will be good. They have solved issues like putting in a new washing machine and getting my key, sometimes maintenance work takes a little but thats understood.

Cascade Northlakes has been a very good living experience for me. maintenance requests are promptly attended and resolved, pool and gym are well maintained and apartment outdoors are well maintained. service staff try their best to attend your requests in person or over the phone. Overall I would recommend this to my friends.

I’ved lived here since 2020 and overall it’s been fine. Within the last few months, there’s been several shootings and disturbances outside of my building so I will not be renewing my lease as I often do not feel safe here anymore.

Quiet neighborhood, no issues or concerns. I’ve been in Charlotte for four years and this is hands down the best apartment complex I’ve been in!

Moved in on 10/3 everything has been pretty decent for the most part the apartment is nice. The building I’m in is pretty calm for the most part. Only thing is my dryer in my unit is out and I’m currently waiting for maintence to fix it.

I greatly appreciate the new management team, the ladies that I spoke to were very helpful, and I look forward to another year at my residence.

Great quiet and safe staff is nice and will help handle problems fast clean. They have amenities pool gym and nice areas to hang out. Love it

People smoking weed. Buildings are dirty. No events or clubs in the neighborhood. People in the leasing office and maintenance are really kind and helpful.

Neighborhood is nice. The tenants are the issue sometimes. There’s dog poop on balcony’s and the gym is flooded with young children who smoke near the pool.

Wonderful. Everything was a smooth process, the leasing agent Noah is the best. Maintenance response very quickly to your request. Neighborhood is quite and everyone is polite

Honestly the place has improved. It's nice not having trash overflowing constantly, though we pay a lot a month for that service so I hesitate to praise getting what we've paid for finally. Residents pay thousands a month in trash fees, a guy in a beat up truck throwing bags of trash into our trash compactor that we pay a separate trash fee for does not feel 'valet' nor worth the money spent. Breezeways in every building are still filthy. Heaven forbid we pressure wash them even once a year. The sense or community is still non-existant a year after Highmark took over. Cortland used to host resident events all the time. Highmark makes no effort. Dog waste. When Highmark took over they must not have gotten the keys to the dog waste stations. That was a year ago now and rather than buying a new key, (they are less than $9 on Amazon, feel free to ask me for the link) the stations have bags hung up with coat hangers. Really tacky and indicative of the type of property this is.

I love how peaceful it is and neighbors are friendly. Only two bad experiences have to me since I've been is a month after I've been someone had kicked my patio door and the second one is somebody broke in my car but outside that I love the community.

Great Location, Needs Some Improvement The neighborhood trail is fantastic for walks, and it’s close to the mall, making it very convenient. However, the trash valet service could use serious improvement. Maintenance has improved lately, which is a plus, but the valet issues still need to be addressed for a better living experience overall.
