Ontario is one of the busiest communities in the Inland Empire, with events and attractions drawing folks from all over southern California as well as locals. The city is a popular shopping destination, specifically the enormous Ontario Mills shopping mall. Next door to Ontario Mills, Citizens Business Bank Arena plays host to concerts and sporting events throughout the year, regularly drawing crowds of up to 11,000 people. Both of these attractions sit on the northeast corner of Ontario, as does the popular Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park. Metrolink service connects Ontario to Riverside in the east (30 minutes) and Los Angeles in the west (roughly one hour).

Property Ratings at Casitas Apartments
Be aware that some of the prices on their website are incorrect. I called to confirm the price of open units and there was a near $500 discrepancy. If you are on a tight budget, call before to not waste your time.
Lived here for less than 1 year. They raised my rent by $100.00. When I notified them that I was going to be moving out, I called 3 times, left messages, no one called me back. Finally got a hold of then 2 weeks later, they took that as my NOTICE date. Did not give me my deposit back and they want me to pay $589.00 to them, even though they say everything was fine with the apartment when I moved out. They never contacted me to do the final walk through. They say the $589.00 is to paint the apartment for the new tenants. I never did laundry there, every time I went to the laundry room, it was dirty.

This area seems safe. However, the lack of communication by the leasing office and property managers was a big problem for me here. I discussed having a pantry installed prior to my move-in, but it took about 6 weeks and many calls after that. The employee in leasing office tried to blame the maintenance workers, which already set a bad tone. A leaking water heater that caused an algae problem took weeks to get resolved during the rainy season. I only found out by accident that it was repaired, but there was no communication by the office, nor was any notice of completed repairs left behind, which is their normal practice.. I was very unhappy when maintenance went into my apartment to install something I wasn't even aware of, and when I wasn't home. The policy is to notify residents a day prior to going into their homes. Again, communication was a problem theme. That employee left soon after, but I was not aware of the communication skills of the newer staff. Requesting repairs and having them done against a backlog was a pain. When they say they also speak Spanish, it seemed like that was almost to the exclusion of English, so it made requesting repairs with a maintenance worker who knew little to no English extremely annoying. Dog owners have no respect for others by letting their dogs just roam out without a leash, and without picking up after them. There are free bags around the complex, but this policy isn't enforced like it should be. It's near Ontario, so you'll hear planes flying over, even after midnight, but that's a very minor annoyance. The parking situation can make it a real pain to have guests over, even with street parking. That can be managed once you account for the "rush hour."
The paint and flooring is very cheap, as well as the bathtub and the bathroom sink. The handle of the bathroom sink is broken and has not been fixed for about a year. The water pressure in the bathroom sink is terrible! Hardly any water comes out, I asked the maintenance guy to fix it and he said there was nothing he could do about that. Then in the summer, the cold water comes out hot, I asked the maintenance to fix it and once again I was told there was nothing he can do about it!!!!! I asked a few of my neighbors if they were experiencing the same issue and they said no. I just don't understand how our apartment was the only place having these issues. The bathtub keeps clogging up and has been missing a piece ever since they "fixed" it, the AC unit is missing some pieces and is broken, does not even work! We had told the office a million times to replace it and never did. There are so many bugs!! The carpet in the bedroom was placed poorly and keeps coming off from the edges. The gates have never once worked through out the whole 2 years that I have lived there. I always see people constantly move out because this place is just so terrible. The dumpsters are always full and hard to get through. I love dogs, but the owners never put them on a leash and they never pick up their poop. There are literally free doggy poop bags available in the apartments. You will most likely end up stepping in poop unfortunately. I do not recommend anyone to live here.
Don't be fooled by the pictures, it's not as bright or clean as they make it out to be, and the apartment itself is just poor quality all around. The ONLY plus about this place is the office & maintenance workers are nice. That's it. The dumpster area will sometimes be overflowing for WEEKS so much so that you can't even walk into the area, so you just have to throw your trash onto the 2 ft pile of smelly trash. Not exaggerating. Why am I paying for trash if it's not being disposed? Seems like a gated community, but the gates are never closed. I got a 1 day notice for installing fire alarms, and the day after they did, I had another maintenance guy come in and install a 2nd one, and tell me the first one they installed yesterday doesn't work, but he left both up...what??? Paint is done sloppily, and the counters, tub, stove, etc. are finished poorly, so they peel/fall apart easily and looks gross. Don't expect to get your deposit back either. There are plenty of other places nearby that cost less for MUCH higher quality of living!
The lady in the office literally said “I forgot to put your maintnence request in” Been resident for couple years. One day I get a notice saying we will be inspecting apartments fire alarms. Now my apartment is filled with roaches? They run a scam. I’ve witnessed people literally move out of there apartment within a week to a month due to the plumbing or bug problems that they won’t take any blame for. They will try to twist it and make it seem like you brought roaches from somewhere. The maintenance takes about a week to do anything. Place needs some serious clearing of the office workers and get some professional helpful people.
ok so for our first apartment we found out this place is not it. From poor management to poor maintenance. The place is half way done . Paint is cheap and not properly done. The tub keeps flooding after they fix it . Had them fix the tub 5 times now and still same thing. Paint on the bathroom door is peeling . When you call them they do not answer the phone . You have to keep going to main office to get anything done. Get a lot of bugs everywhere . Just all around bad experience with this place .
Such a cute 1 br perfect for a new couple just moving out on their own!
I was willing too settle for the simple fact that it was our first apt, but it wasn't what we had in mind. from the poor management, to the horrible city location. if you have a family, I wouldn't recommended this place. I'm sorry. I'm look forward to using Apartments.com for my future residents, I've already found a few great places I had in mind.!
