Property Ratings at Catalina
The property manager, Lisa, was like Gandalf as she guided me through the most quick n painless process I have ever been apart of. I feel like my needs where really considered during this entire process

Thank you for your positive feedback! Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
I called and reached out about two weeks ago. I spoke to Lisa(who was very nice) who got back to me told me there would be availability and what I needed to do. I called back because I had some further questions and emailed no answer. A week later I got ahold of Rebecca which was also very nice she said they had to verify information. Still nothing my landlord, work have not been contacted they have not reached out to me I have reached out again to see what the status is no answer to my calls, voicemails or emails. I give up I can only imagine if I had an issue on site.

We’d moved here site unseen from out of state due to its immediate availability. First it took 2 extra weeks of us staying in a hotel until it was ready for move-in. To top it off the office staff member working with us KNEW we had an older son in a wheelchair & not once mentioned we’d be on the 2nd floor (about 15-20 stairs). My husband & I agreed we’d suffer it as we couldn’t afford to be at the hotel much longer. The pictures seen here are VERY misleading! The pools have not been open since we moved in last July after being told at move-in they were just waiting on inspection. There is no laundry facility. (Though we were recently told the new management is supposedly putting one in a few buildings over down the street. Not sure how that’ll go with so many buildings across several blocks & one laundry room.) We received a “renovated” apartment at almost $200 more a month then what I’d agreed to when applying… but though they look nice at first, it didn’t take long before we stepped on sharp staples coming through the newly laid carpets in the living room & bedrooms, & we could see & feel the spots on the floor where it sinks. The only laminate like in the photos is the kitchen, entry hall, and bath. Which was a slight disappointment. And the water damage stains on the ceiling in one of the bedrooms, we brought to their attention early on & no one has yet to come even look at it. We’ve had roach issues only addressed once & they weren’t even handled. I cannot tell you the amount of food wasted having to be thrown away. Animals scratching in the ceilings. The neighborhood is TERRIBLE!! Constant drug deals next to the buildings, in the stairwells, as well as the homeless & drug abusers constantly begging for food, money, & anything/everything else. I’m all for helping a person in need but it is crazy! Loud music from cars driving through, fighting & screaming outside til 3-4 AM is almost nightly. We feel bad. The new management team is absolutely incredible. Tanya & Lisa are AMAZING women. But sadly they were left to pick up the pieces of something that is proving extremely hard to clean up & fix. Especially for what they’re now charging for rent. Definitely better spent elsewhere. We are renewing but solely because we have no other choice, & discussed paying to break our lease when we found something better. I’d love to see what it will look like as they finish unfortunately the safety of my family takes precedence.

Lisa was VERY polite & understanding ! Apartments have a lot of space and it’s very nice inside . I love it ?? #Diana
False advertisement at its best!!! No working laundry facility. 2 days before I moved in I was told I couldn't move in until 3 pm. On move in day I got there after 3 and was told the unit was not available for me to move in. I had the moving company scheduled to be there at 4. It was after 4 before I was given a key even though I signed the lease and paid my money. As im attempting to move in the workers were still there cleaning and making last minute fixes to the apartment. Once they left I noticed multiple holes in the wall, writing on my refrigerator and there to this day is still a disgusting dishwasher the dishes from the previous tenant in there. Then I had an issue with my electricity because of a mistake I made. I made sure the issue was fixed and the electric company backed charged me from the date I moved in. The management still wanted to charge me for the cost of electricity. I provided proof from the electric company and was advised the complex has been refunded. It has been 3 months and the apartments are still requiring me to pay this balance even though they have admitted it is not technically owed. I desperately want to break this lease and take the complex to court.
Roaches, fire, flooding, mold! No laundry on site even though they have listed 3 facilities and no pool... even though you have to pay for it! Random people living undocumented in apartments driving YOUR water and sewage bills UP! Dishonest management... did I mention the flooding and roaches!? No one ever answers your calls and when you put in service requests they are closed without having ever done any work. RUN AWAY!!!!!!!
If your looking for a great place to call home look no further the property management and staff are very friendly helpful and very professional and did I mention newly renovated 1,2&3 bedroom units that's very spacious if your lookingfor a kid friendly atmosphere that offers a peace off mind look no further
I’m moving from Miami to Jacksonville, when i say Janmarie has made this experience so worth it! She had been here every step of the way, she is just so sweet and such an amazing person! she has helped me out so much and i really do appreciate that. I applied for 2 other places besides this one and the thing that really made me say yes to this apartment is because she is the ONLY one that care that i wasn’t able to see the apartment in person until of course my move in date. she took the time out of her very busy schedule and video chatted me to let me see my apartment. I appreciate her so much for that, thank you so much for making this move so easy and effortless ??. Can wait to meet you in person on the 23rd!
I was hesitant at first about moving on Bert Rd. because of so many negative things I had heard about the area..I moved to Catalina Apts 4 months ago & I love my apartment. The newly remodeled apartment is beautiful & very spacious. But, most of all I am very pleased with the police sub station & the constant police presence that I see that makes me feel even more secure. Jana and Lisa in the leasing office are very friendly & I am glad that I gave Catalina Apts a chance.
This place isn’t worth it please DONT MOVE HERE reading these reviews this is EXACTLY what I’m going thru NO AC no MEW APPLIANCES WHEN I MOVED IN Refrigerator leaks sinks get stopped up SEWER SMELLS CRAZY MOLD IN BATHROOM DISHWASHER HAVENT USED SINCE MOVE IN DIRTY INFESTED “ROACHES EVERYWHERE “ no matter how much RAID BLEACH ALCHOL BOMBS I’ve been to the office they’re NON RESPONSIVE so therefore I advise you guys NOT TO MOVE HERE NOT A GREAT AREA AND DEFINITELY NOT SUITABLE FOR LIVING
I have been trying to get someone on the phone to talk about renting an apartment here. It's been 2 weeks and no returned or answered calls...the sister companies have answered my calls but not here. This complex is in the perfect location for me and my wife but I can't get a human on the phone!

I moved in April 26 and had issues day one. There is no lock on my room window or my kids or my sliding door. I called the city on them 5 months later still not fixed. The man just came and tried to change the lock on sliding door and the inspector told them it needed to be replaced. Needless to say it still does not lock. I live on the bottom floor. Please save your money

So, outside of moving in to an apartment basically that was unfit for living and unfinished, instead of cleaning or repairing anything the ENTIRE apartment is covered in this epoxy paint that peels off of everything. Its on the cabinets, counter tops, walls, bath tub and shower tiles, I'm constantly pulling strips of paint out of my children's mouths. Speaking of my kids, I have three kids under three and a half years old, one being a three week old newborn. My AC hasn't worked properly in a month. We keep putting in work orders online that are being ignored, deleted or wrongly marked as completed. My husband goes and bothers the front office twice a week and nothing more s happening. It's 80 degrees in my apartment right now at 10 AM. SO CATALINA APARTMENTS, ARE YOU LISTENING NOW?!?!

I'm tired of going back and forth with them . Black mold is horrible to live and I really need help. I pay my rent on time and I think its time I deserve better
