I have lived here for about 1yr just renewed yesterday and I love it!! Ever since I moved here I feel at home. I use dread getting home at my prior apartment because of all the issues I had pest and maintenance request, but here it’s like breath of fresh air I Don’t have any pest issues and all my service request are handled in 24-48hrs

DO NOT MOVE HERE YOU CAN DO BETTER FOR YOUR MONEY I PROMISE! I have lived here for a year now (will be moving very soon!) and I have had nothing but bad experiences. The actual apartment is always cold/hot depending on outside weather because the windows are not sealed properly. Your A/C bill will be crazy high because if it is set on auto it will run 24/7. The walls look like there has been water damage that was never addressed and just painted over it. I had a big problem with bugs and roaches even after 2 exterminators cane. The carpet in the apartments are so extremely old and dirty when you first move in and it was horrible for my allergies, doors are not properly aligned to the frame of the doorway so have fun closing your bathroom door completely, and you can hear your neighbors above you all the time even when they are just walking. Management pretends to care but they just want to fine you for anything they can and then fight you on it every step of the way. Please please please do not move here!

The first week me and my boyfriend moved it, things were falling apart! The bathroom door started to hang off the hinges and the handled to the freezer complete broke off! The counter tops in the kitchen started to come up! Everything looks like it was put together with a glue stick! Horrible paint job as well. You can tell they paint over ALOT of stuff on the walls. One time I was doing my laundry on the property I walked out from the unit and I saw a resident half naked peeing between two dumpers! He must have been high out of his mind! I got into my car so quick and drove off! Speaking of dumpsters, there is literally garbage everywhere! The dumpsters are always overflowing and smell rancid! DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE ROACH INFESTATION!! I cannot get rid of these roaches!!! The apartment is so poorly built these roaches live in the cracks and crevices! I think I’ve gone through 10 cans of roach spray since I leased in September 2019! I’ve even had them come spray and it doesn’t do anything! Roaches are the least of my problems! LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THESE BED BUGS!!!! I don’t know how in the hell they spread to our apartment! These units are infested with pests!! I had them come inspect my bed for bed bugs, the maintenance guy said there was no sign of the bugs but he would still spray. I said no sign????? I showed him the bites all over my arms! As well as the bed bug carcasses I found on my mattress! I tried to leave here but there was no way out of my lease! I literally had to move out with a friend for three months because I could not take it! I would literally cry myself to sleep Bc I hated living here! I would rather sleep under a bridge in a card board box than live here! Honestly!! The only positive thing about this place is the location. The area is nice and the neighborhoods are friendly for the most part. Some of them are kleptos! My boyfriend had his debit card stolen from our neighbor right across from us! She spent $400 on god knows what! She refused to give us our money back and the managers in the office didn’t do a thing! We also got our apartment broke into and the staff didn’t even flinch! Thank god for renters insurance! I’m done thank you.

Don’t live here. My apartment wasn’t ready the day I was supposed to move in, I walked in on the guy painting with the AC off , 110 degrees in the apartment. My things were infested with roaches the second day. They told me I have to deal with pest control. Many times they said they sent them and did not. I demanded another apartment from corporate. Staff is horribly rude and they don’t care about anything but their commission. Dayrise is a joke. Everything in all the apartments is completely falling apart. My counter fell off the wall every time i ran the dishwasher. Counters are made of particle board and cabinets are made of plywood. The roaches live in the cabinets, so don’t store things in there. Living in these slum apartments was like living in a nightmare. Truly it has given me PTSD. Save yourself the hell and heartache I had to endure.

Ridiculously slow to fix maintenance issues... Management doesn't return calls and unless you go to the office and document issues practically threatening to report the complex they won't lift a finger to help. Parking is a nightmare if you arrive home after 7 pm! My overall payment has increased $100 each year I've lived here and the apartment itself only becomes in greater disrepair. Anywhere has got to be better than this place, especially for the price paid!! I would give zero stars if I could.

As a new resident of Catalina on Bellaire, I moved to apartment 22**, on March 11th. For my surprised, on March 13th, my mother and I woke up full of bites. Not knowing what happened to us we both went thought our clothes, sheets, towels looking for signs of anything possible. On my mattress I found a bug which I got it and placed on a ziplock. On the following day I found a few bugs on the wall. Still not knowing what kind of bug that was, I got them and placed on a ziplock so it could be identified later. After searching on the internet I found that it could be bed bugs! I took them all to the office and let them know about the bites. Sonia looked surprised at me as if it was something unusual. However, I did find, on google, reviews of Catalina passed residents who left because of bed bugs infestation in their apartments. I’ve been in a hotel room with two kids for the past three days since Sonia, the manager, approved for me to go for two days and get reimbursed. My kids cannot by any means get into the apartment. My daughter was in an emergency room last July with Myositis, Osteomyolits and septic joint. She almost lost her legs due to an infection to the bone that comes in the body through open scar/cuts. I need a place to live and no apartments will take my belongings because of the bed bugs! Today SONIA TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MY LOSS, ANY OF MY PROPERTY LOSS DUE TO THIS INFESTATION, LIKE MY MATTRESSES AND MY KIDS' MATTRESSES, OUR CLOTHES AND FOOD. SHE ALSO SAID THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR ME TO MOVE OUT, NEITHER REIMBURSE ME IF I BUY NEW FURNITURE ( I CANNOT TAKE ANY OF MY FURNITURE TO A NEW APARTMENT, THEY WONT ACCEPT AFRAID THAT THE BUGS WILL COME WITH IT) SHE WANTS ME TO TAKE MY BELONGINGS OUT SO THEY CAN SPRAY MY APARTMENT, BUT WHERE SHOULD I TAKE IT? I WASN'T PLANNING ON MOVING AGAIN SOON. I CANNOT JUST FIND A PLACE OVERNIGHT!!!! I will no longer stay at Catalina and I will fight to get reimbursed for all my time, suffering and loss. Catalina need to pay me the money and time I wasted coming here. I WANT YOU ALL TO KNOW THIS AND BE AWARE OF THE FILTHY PLACE THIS IS.
I love my apartment. They have large bedrooms! We have a beautiful swimming pool and gazebo. Workout room. And we are close to Shopping and Restaurants and there are two private schools in the neighborhood as well as a Church and nearby Parks. The staff are helpful and they are quick to take care of any maintenance issue you might have. We are on a bus route which would be helpful for someone who does not have transportation.
I like this very place, though sometimes when you put work other it will take some days before they come and fix the problems. my rent for 3 years is ok. is a good place to live.
I've lived here at Catalina Apts. for about 10 years. Mostly it has been a good experience. Now we have responsive management who will take care of problems in a timely manner. What I like about Catalina apartments is that it is in a central location. I can drive to any Post office or restauraunt in under 10 minutes! Only thing I would improve would be the parking lot driving. Needs to be strict rules on where to park, but problems in this regard happen sporadically.
This apartment is a great size. I see no bugs Management has its issues. Keep raising prices but make no improvements.

Poor maintenance service, not enough parking for residents who own more than one car. I got one of my vehicles towed and i had to pay to release it, that should not happen in a place you pay for living! Planning to move out next year, after my lease expire "
