The aparment complex looks like it has all the bells and whistles but in reality most things fall short. Our appliances frequently stopped working even from day 1 of moving in. Getting a hold of management or staff commonly took at least 6 phone calls. To top it off, they took out a huge chunk of our security deposit without providing details as to how they got to that number. Red flags all around.

Very expensive condo for very little luxury. There's no quiet hours so the building is loud all day and night. Too many cockroaches in the building for it to feel luxurious. The 'security' just plays on their phone in a corner of the lobby all day while packages get stolen and homeless enter the building. This place needs new management.

The new gym is open 24/7 and is located right in the middle of the apartment building (2nd floor, middle). This place was livable before the gym was added, and could be livable if management takes some measures to minimize noise, but they haven't. Every day and night gym users are dropping barbells onto the concrete gym floor and slamming medicine balls into the roof/walls. This noise and quaking shocks reverberate into all of the residents apartments and we are constantly woken up. Requests to add padding to walls or floors, or to set up quiet hours, or to post/inform gym users to be mindful that this is a residential gym that shares walls with neighbors have all been ignored. Some other issues we've faced: Homeless people getting into the building, mail being stolen as packages are just left in the lobby, amenities are often broken, and maintenance issues take months to be addressed.

It is a great place, locations is amazing but a lot of young people making loud parties in the weekend.

I moved in recently. Couldnt be happier. I feel extremely safe in my apartment. The management team and workers are very tentative and are always there for anything. This has been great

The amazing management & leasing team made the whole leasing and move-in process seamless (thanks, Simon!). The building is also really secure and well-maintained. Loving everything about living here so far!

Pros: Modern building (which is huge for LA), clean, amenities, secure garage and building, friendly staff and people. Location (things to do). The downsides are the price (although maybe this is just how insane real estate is out here), small size of apartments, no free parking included, the army of homeless/vagrants/mentally ill (welcome to Santa Monica, thank the Mayor/Governor) and the location (noisy from street). And the metro. The metro is the worst part of living here. I got used to it, but I still do hear it sometimes in the middle of the night or early in the morning. If you are sensitive to sound this place is not for you, particularly if you choose a unit facing the street. Overall, if you can afford it and don't mind a smaller space and city "life" (noise and homeless), I'd recommend considering Catherine Apartments.

Catherine Santa Monica is the place to call home.I’m a happy and satisfied resident of Catherine. specially the stuff members Simon and and Gill they make your life easy they’re knowledgeable and very professional.

The staff at Catherine has been uniformly great. Extra special praise to Gil in the leasing office and Dario in maintenance. Every new building has some shakedown issues to resolve and the team here has been super responsive in dealing with any quirks that have arisen.

Living at CSM has been a very welcoming experience. We are so blessed and fortunate to be here. Thank you!

We moved from out of state during covid and leased out apartment virtually. Gil and Simon were extremely helpful and welcoming. Then once we moved in, the place was everything we wanted and more! Great amenities, luxury appliances, tons of sunlight, and the staff flawlessly maintains the grounds. Love it here!!

We are finally moving in this week. The staff (Simon and Gil) has been amazing and helpful and so kind. The building was built well for the most part and I’m a huge snob about needing buildings to be built very well with health and indoor air quality in mind. I’m so excited! Will update in awhile once we’re more settled.
