They start with two one-bedroom options, which vary slightly in layout and living room/bedroom size. There are two-bedroom and three-bedroom options as well, with your choice of number of bathrooms. Features you’ll find in our Universal City apartments include spacious, open layouts, wood-style flooring, granite counters, glass tile backsplash, updated nickel fixtures, black appliances, lots of storage space, full size washer/dryer and an overall modern style. Our most popular amenities are the pool and fitness center. The latter has lots of cardio and weightlifting machines, while the former has seating, lounging and grilling areas nearby. There is covered parking and garage options available for your cars. Other amenities include door-to-door valet trash, package lockers, a beautiful courtyard and well-maintained grounds. I have lived here for three years and I can truly say that I love it here. The property is well kept and beautiful as well as the amenities. The biggest blessing is the staff! They are in the office working hard or on the property working and providing outstanding care for the residents and greet you with a smile and some encouragement to keep you going! You can even catch the maintenance crew and housekeeper ALWAYS smiling and working hard as well as making sure they say hello and feel welcome! Debbie, Ashley and Kristelle and the property maintenance staff are some of the greatest people I have ever met. They show concern and treat you like family and dedicate themselves to their residents! I truly feel like this is home with the beautiful apartments and welcoming neighbors as well as feeling safe. I am blessed beyond measure to call this my home!
1st year update: The apartments are spacious, clean with valet trash, and quiet. The management staff is friendly and keeps you informed about the property. 2nd year update: I've been living here for almost two years when I got a notice about excessive noise between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Management can't even get their story straight; one manager claims the resident hears bouncing balls at 2 a.m. while we are sleeping, while the second manager claims the resident hears running sounds at that time. We don’t own any basketballs. Walking throughout the unit that you pay for is not excessive, if perhaps walking hard counts as running? An "daily noise" is walking. What if you need to wake up in the middle of the night to use the restroom but the floors are creaking? The thickness of the walls and floors of these residences is out of our hands. Now they are saying the residents don’t really know what it is, they just hear sounds. We don't listen to loud music, we've never had the police called because of excessive nose, we both work daytime jobs, and our kids attend public school and daycare.
Have lived in these apartments for 20 years. Many changes have occurred during this time - all for the good of the community. Apartments and surrounding community area are kept clean and updated. The office team is very friendly and happy to assist with anything you need. They strive to manage the Community to ensure a great living experience for everyone. The maintenance team works hard to maintain around the community and correct any issues in your apartment. I recommend Cayman to anyone looking for an apartment in and around the area of Universal City. I am happy to give a 5 Star Review!!
As a transitioning military family, we needed a short term rental. Deb was great and very helpful as we spent most of our time in the phone from states away. We got all the paperwork done digitally and she even managed to get me a garage close to my unit. The gym facility is nice and business center was incredibly helpful getting things scanned for tax season as all our things were in storage. The grounds are also well maintained with plenty of run space for dogs. My favorite amenities were trash pickup at my door and the 24-hour, locking, package delivery center. We were only there 90 days as we purchased a home but it was a very pleasant 90 days and I would recommend the neighborhood and area to anyone transitioning to San Antonio. Close proximity to major highways and plenty of shopping!
Moving here 3 months ago, I was beginning a new chapter in my life. This place has been a big blessing to me and I am somewhere I can truly call “ home”. From the first day I met Ashleigh and Debbie, not only have they made me feel welcomed, they also make sure to say “hello candice” and ask how I am doing. There’s something special about this place and ALL of the amazing amenities. The gym is amazing, the pool is beautiful and my view at night is priceless. I’m still adjusting to the open space since my old apartment was about half the size of this one. The neighbors are very nice and genuinely caring. I am so happy I stumbled upon this community. If you’re looking for somewhere to call “home” and enjoy peace and quiet, look no further. One of my favorite things is the controlled access, it gives me more peace than I’ve ever had. Also I love the door to door trash valet. With me being on dialysis, sometimes it’s hard for me to lift my trash, but with this feature, the crew comes and takes it out. They have been a blessing to me. A smile can go a long way!!! Thank you Retama staff!!!

I have lived here nearly a whole year. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, this has been one of the most amazing experiences I have had. In my time here, I only had to call maintenance once. The only thing I needed was my hot water to be a tad warmer. Maintenance was at my door within 15 minutes. The office staff and the manager of the complex are super friendly and really listen to their residents. When I speak to them they make me feel like I am not just one of the many people that live here but I am the only one who lives here. They make you feel warm and they genuinely care. The neighbors are friendly and the complex is homey and quiet. This has been one of the best if not the best experience I have ever had in renting. It feels more like a home than an apartment. I have no doubt that I will renew my lease when the time comes. I highly recommend this complex.
My fiance and I moved to Retama Ranch in June of 2015 and are so grateful and lucky to call this place home. The units themselves were recently renovated (2015) and even throughout the renovations, we experienced no disturbances. You'll have almost brand new flooring and appliances including full size washer/dryers! The staff at Retama Ranch will always treat you like family, Maricela has been there since the day we moved in and she has always gone above and beyond to be sure that we are taken care of. I don't have much of a reason to visit the office with the exception of picking up my packages but every time I go in they all know my name and what unit I live in and make a point to ask how my day is and actually listen to what I have to say, they even remember the little things like how I'm in college, they will ask how my classes are and remind me to come study in the club house where it's peaceful and where I can get free coffee, tea, or water. Recently the community added fitness classes every Thursday, I have yet to muster up the courage to attend one but I am so grateful that they made this available to us. In addition to the fitness classes, they have monthly "Wine Down Wednesday" celebrations where they provide beverages and food for all of the community in the club house and pool! They're always looking for ways to improve and make their residents life more fulfilled. This is not just a job to any of the members of this community, they each care about the residents happiness. This community is pet friendly and offers two enclosed areas to let the pups off leash, they also provide sturdy doggy bags to clean up after your fur-babies. The pool area is gorgeous and has a beautiful cabana and two propane grills that are cleaned daily! The other residents have always been respectful and the community is never loud or obnoxious. We live near the pool and never have any complaints about noise, there is never anyone in the pool past the posted hours and children have always been attended to by an adult. Maintenance is always prompt and courteous, again they treat you like family! As per usual at the end of our lease our rent did increase (less than $2 a day) we did view other "luxury" complexes in the area but we were not impressed with the service nor the grounds of anywhere near by. The price tag may seem hefty but I guarantee you will not be disappointed. This is by far the best community I have ever lived at and the first one that truly became my home!
I love living at Retama Ranch! Over the past 3 years, the staff has always been great and it's the best deal in Universal City. The staff is a pleasure to work with. The monthly get-togethers are also a nice perk and a great way to meet neighbors. Grounds are very well-kept and my view of the pool is amazing since it is taken care of daily.
Unlike other places I have lived at this is the first apartment place that responds quickly to our apartment needs. We put in work orders and they get taken care of immediately. I have lived here since August of 2014 and I don't see me going anywhere any time soon. I like how they have resident events for us.. BBQs, Wine Wednesday, Taco Tuesday, Crawfish Boils, so many more. The staff is so professional but make you feel part of a family by saying hi always in a good mood.
The Management and Staff here are wonderful and treat everyone like family. The Apartment themselves are beautiful and ill maintained by Maintenance Staff. when they say they will take care of it they mean it. It take maintenance about 1 hour to get the order and get to my apartment to fix what ever needs to be fixed, the people who live here with me in the other apartments are so friendly and i do believe it is because of the staff that make us feel so welcomed. Thank you Retama Reanch Apartments management and staff for make my family a home in our community.
I have worked in the apartment industry for 27 years and as many apartments I have worked at, the one that I don't, I love the most. From the well-kept grounds to the awesome staff including maintenance I am happy to call this place home. Every other week there is an event or function that really brings this place together. I love how you walk into the office (with extended hours at that) and everyone knows your name. Even though this place is a business it feels more like walking in to your family's house.
When we originally moved in a few years ago, this was a dream apartment complex. Incredible staff that knew us by name, awesome price, great unit. They have recently been bought by another company though and have been going through renovations for the past year (which included a "nice" increase in rent). There is now virtually no parking thanks to conversions of regular spaces to paid covered spaces. Supply crates for renovations also take up massive amounts of parking for the past year, meaning that you WILL walk a long distance to your apartment. There are constant walk-throughs by management which a nightmare for pet owners. Due to small increases in fees (which the staff insist is "normal" for this time of year, even though we've been here for years), our monthly amount paid has increased every month for the past year, even though we have not changed a single thing in lifestyle. We are normally never ones to complain about little things, but after more than a year of being told to just wait it out, we don't see a change for the better any time soon. The only reason I didn't rate with a one star is because the units themselves are still great units of high quality. It's just sad that the rest of the experience doesn't match the quality of the unit.
If you like the sound of traffic, unsupervised teenagers at the pool all night long, and people who throw their dogs in the pool,then this is the place for you. The pool has been closed for a good part of the summer in 100 degree heat. The staff is less than sympatheteic when there is a problem, and the turnover with the staff is constant, so there is little recourse to get problems solved. The apartments are close to ameneties, it is a gated community, but the holes in the fence allow outsiders in easily. The apartments are spacious and clean, but not worth the high rent.
Our apartment was renovated before our move in and is gorgeous. All of the complex is undergoing renovations and it looks wonderful. Price is bit high, but, a 2 bed 2 bath apartment had never looked so spacious. Washer and dryers come In unit! Another plus! Management is kind and takes time to listen.
