Property Ratings at Cedar Grove Garden Apartments
I have been living here for 2 years and the few issues I have had, have been taking care of amazingly fast, right away! Noreen, Ed and Carlos are great as well as the rest of the crew. It's really pretty too, very green!
I have been living here for just about 3 years now and the management/grounds staff are all so friendly and VERY HELPFUL. They respond quickly to any issues that arise within the apartment. The apartment its self is spacious and when we moved in it was so clean! The neighborhood is quiet and friendly as well. I would definitely recommend the complex to others. Thank you CGGA!
I have been living at CGGA for almost 20 years...this is my “home”. The apartment complex is located in a beautiful neighborhood. It is amidst a lot of shopping, restaurants, transportation and schools. It is also a 10 minute drive to two beautiful parks, Verona Park and Cedar grove park. The best part of living here is the management/staff….Eddie, Carlos, Noreen, Ricardo and Santiago. They always greet you with a smile, are extremely accommodating and super friendly. They keep the grounds and facilities clean every day and are quick to respond to any issues that may arise. They are always very helpful to the needs of all the residents here. I also feel very safe living here because of these 5 wonderful and amazing people. I could not be happier and plan to continue living here for a long time to come.
I have been living here for almost 5 years. If i need a repair, I just speak with the staff, they are always friendly and helpful. My neighbors are considerate and respectful. I have no problem with any noise. Sounds of everyday living are normal to me. i don't pay any attention. As a matter of fact, it makes me feel safe to know there are people around me. If you are looking for a safe, friendly environment, this is the place to be!
This apartment complex is very clean. My wife and I are happy here. The crew does an excellent job removing snow. Having a garage is a huge plus. When we first moved here, management was so helpful with all of our questions and needs. They seem to truly care about making tenants happy. We have been living here for 7 years now, and our opinion has not changed. We highly recommend these apartments.
Cedar Grove Garden Apartments is a great place to live! When we moved in, our apartment was sparkling clean and beautiful! The person in the rental office made everything so easy for us. She was very respectful, friendly and helpful. She answered all of our questions and made us feel so welcome. We appreciate that she took time with us and made us feel important. We had visited the complex 2 years before, and we came back because of how she treated us. We knew this was the place we wanted to live. The maintenance crew is also fantastic! They help us with anything we need to be looked at or fixed. They are true gentleman and very good at their job. We cannot say enough about this complex. We highly recommend this place to live!
I am very happy here. My apartment is absolutely beautiful! So clean, you could eat off the floors! They also keep the grounds in pristine condition. There are laundry rooms nearby. I have not had a problem getting a machine to use. I can use the laundry rooms anytime, day or night. I have been here going on 4 years. I plan to stay here for a long time! My neighbors are wonderful. Everyone shows consideration and respect. It is great to have a garage to park in, something I did not have where I lived before. I always feel safe walking through the complex day or night. There is plenty of good lighting and neighbors seem to watch out for each other. Sometimes I walk back and forth to my gym which is right across the street! I notice the Cedar Grove police patrol through the lots now and then, which makes me feel safe. When it snows, the place is plowed and shoveled thoroughly. Large machines also come through to clear more snow. I have never lived in an apartment where they cleared the ice and snow so well! I am very happy that I can control my own heat! It is nice and toasty in the winter months, but if it gets too hot, I have a knob on my radiator so I can turn my own heat down. This is a big plus! Here in the summer, my air conditioner works great in the living room. I also have a ceiling fan in my dining room, which helps to circulate the cold air coming from the living room A/C. I was able to install my own A/C in my bedroom window. I have lived in quite a few apartments in my life time. This complex is the best by far!
ABSOLUTLY TERRIBLE. Floors, doors and walls are paper thin so you have no privacy. Management will NOT get involved in issues with other tenants. Make you feel like you are hassling them. Parking is sparse. No street parking allowed. Kitchens have fans in walls that slam/echo thru the apt on windy days. Fire alarm goes off whenever you cook. I had to remove the battery whenever I used the stove or oven. I had a cracked kitchen window that was never replaced and two of my windows were missing locks. Tub was cracking. Spare bedroom heat barely worked. If you live on the 1st fl, you will hear garages being slammed. Front doors are cheap and unsafe. I spoke with the leasing manager a few times before moving in and she was always very pleasant and warm. She stressed how wonderful my new apartment was going to be. Moving day, when I signed my lease. She made sure I saw the no pet clause and was asked to initial. After signing, I was told that my upstairs neighbor had small children. I was surprised I wasn’t told this before moving day but as a parent myself, I didn’t think it would be a huge deal. I move in and that’s when the nightmare began. It started with hearing EVERY. SINGLE. sound. I could hear nonstop running until almost midnight. I explained to the manager and told her I wasn’t able to go to sleep until almost midnight. This is when she told me that the upstairs tenant had 3 CATS that was what I was hearing. A fact she failed to mention upon me moving in. She then told me to wear earplugs. Management did not work with me. I spoke to the general manager who said that buildings were constructed in the 50’s so it is what it is. As said by a staff member, these apartments are “echo boxes”. Finally, I told them I couldn’t live like this. It was impacting my quality of life. We were barely sleeping. We couldn’t nap bc front doors were being slammed, you could hear everything and the running cats. I told them I wanted to break my lease and wanted my deposit back. They refused to return my deposit until I threatened legal action. I moved out 6 months after moving in. Staff made me feel as if MY family was the issue, not the fact that they let tenants have pets regardless of the lease or that the buildings were poorly constructed. They never asked the upstairs tenant to get rid of the cats or offer solutions to reduce noise. I do not recommend but if you have no choice, go for a 2nd fl and hope that your neighbor doesn’t mind the sounds of your everyday life.
Last July after going through a very devastating divorce due to many years of verbal, mental and emotional abuse. I made the hardest decision in my life to take my kids and get out! I moved here to this wonderful complex (in my home town) with my two beautiful kiddies 8 and 10 years old. The landlord and tenants here welcomed us with open arms. They look out for us, check on us all the time to make sure we are doing okay and they have helped us get through a rough time the past year. I've never lived in an apartment, I hadn't work in over 8 years but for my children I found the courage from within to get a job and this apartment and our "new" home has given us a second chance at happiness, security and hope to a brighter future. I know there are many moms out there who can't make this heart breaking decision and they stay in abusive relationships for their kids, but that is NOT the answer, having your children see that abuse is not okay for your babies/kiddies no matter how young or old they are. It's been very hard on me as a single mom but the struggles are well worth it. Thank you.
