Property Ratings at Cedar Street Commons - Senior Living Commu...
Regional manager a disgrace, she allows a group of noisy tenants to sit in the lobby on chairs that are for people waiting for a ride. They took so loud the people on the second floor are disturbed for hours. She says She cannot do anything about peoples behavior. We had a pipe break in the stairwell leaking, stagnant, filthy water, moldy water for six days. Horrible moldy smell for a month which caused gnats in our apartments and we were told we had to wait for the exterminators visit at the end of the month which was two weeks away, of course we called the Board of Health and filed complaint with the state senator. This probably sounds like I’m making it up, but it’s the truth. It’s gone downhill since the new regional manager and the manager, but he just quit after not even a year. I have applications into complexes and just waiting for them to come through. The people that sit in the lobby also annoy any visitor that comes in asking them who they’re going to see what are they doing? Overpriced.

Buildings are not maintained leaks come through the ceiling they patch it and it happens again. Always a problem with the air conditioning units, hot water issue lasted one month with it intermittently hot. Each building has 4 chairs in the lobby to sit while waiting for a ride, a few feet back is a lounge for socializing, which has been stipulated by the Property Manager in several monthly newsletters. For years tenants have complained to management about a group that sits in the lobby all day/early evening talking very loud, which disturbs the peace & quiet of the tenants in their apartments on the 1st & 2nd fl. This group says they will do what they want. Tenants have to stand while waiting for a ride, and they, along with their visitors, will be asked “where are you going”, “who are you visiting”, making comments about the people, yelling at the visitor if cold and they don’t close the door fast enough. Recently a tenant on the 2nd floor, complained to management, while in her apartment was disturbed by their talking for 5 hours. Not exaggerating they are very loud. They sleep in the chairs, and one has an aide who talks on her phone with the speaker and can be heard in the apartments. Have been heard cursing, foul discussions, using the “F” word. The tenants have confronted them and asked them to sit in the lounge as asked by Management, to be told, “nobody tells me where I can sit”. As nothing was done a petition was circulated with the complaints outlined, and attached a copy of the lease “rules and regulations” and 50 % of the building signed, every tenant that was asked signed it. It was not circulated to the older sickly tenants or the new tenants. It was sent to the Property Manager, and Regional Manager, All they did was put it in the Newsletter again. We sent a copy of the petition/complaint to the owners and they did not even have the decency to acknowledge they received it. A few weeks later, 4 tenants go to the PM again to complain, after an hour she said she will talk to them, again. Tenants said they’ll do what they want. This is against the lease loitering in common areas, Disturbing tenants, But not enforced. The only part of the listing force is you paying your rent on time and giving notice before you move. One tenant said his children asked him to move, They’re tired of being confronted by these people. At this time I’m waiting for an apartment in another complex once one becomes available I’ll be moving.
