Property Ratings at Cedar Trace
Maintenance is worse, and they won't respond to your calls and requests. finally when you are vacating they won't give your deposit back. i have stayed one year and paid 2 months deposits. All unnecessary charges they will add and will not give back not even single penny. won't suggest this bad community apartments are too old.

Poor Maintenance, Dirty Facilities, and Overpriced Move-Out Charges The maintenance here is a disaster – appliances break down frequently, and common areas are consistently dirty. To add insult to injury, when I moved out, I was slapped with exorbitant fees for “cleaning services” that I was not made aware of during pre-walk before lease end date. They never paid Referral to anyone. It feels like they find every possible way to charge you extra. I regret moving in here and would advise prospective tenants to think twice. I was stunned to find additional fees for “cleaning” and “repairs” that I felt were normal wear and tear and seemed excessive and were not mentioned in the lease agreement. The management is unhelpful and unresponsive when it comes to clarifying these issues. This apartment complex needs a complete overhaul in both service and transparency. The lease terms were not clearly communicated, and I’ve encountered numerous hidden fees since moving in. The management is unhelpful when it comes to clarifying these issues. Be cautious and read the fine print if you’re considering this place and be prepared for unexpected charges upon moving out.

Extremely Dis-satisfied with the way Cedar trace handles maintenance. In last 3 month the heating system has stopped working and been out for 40 days that too when the temperature dropped to -26. Raised 5-6 service request and problem is still not resolved. There is no priority given to service request and people suffering from extreme cold weather and fallen sick due to the same. Heating system is old and answer we get it that they need to find a part from the same system running in any other of their apartment. I would not recommend to anyone and think through for future to avoid staying at any of their properties.

I’m a current resident and about to move out. The property is not well maintained— I moved in to a unit with dents in the walls, a broken dishwasher, a sink that continuously backed up, and hair and stains in the paint. These things took months to resolve, and whenever the property manager doesn’t have a good answer, she refuses to respond. I’ve had simple issues take over 20 emails to get things fixed. Also, if they mess up your billing, expect to find out about it 15 days later with a red letter on your door. Don’t expect them to properly inform you when people will be in your unit, either. Or you could save your money and frustration and go someplace else.

I just moved in a month ago and I have had the worst experience and the leasing office is horrible with getting back to you when you call and leave a message and or email and leave a message. They called and email when they want they money but if you are trying to get in contact with them you get nothing

Every time it rains our dishwasher backs up and floods the kitchen which they say they cannot fix. Our bathroom and hallway flooded with water coming up from under the carpet and they just fixed what was causing the water to come thru, apparently it happened before because our bathroom smells moldy, the vanity wood is rotten at the bottom from water damage and there are spots on the hall carpet where it floods. We have had no air or heat for 2 weeks despite putting in a request to have it fixed. Out mailbox key was broken from the beginning so our mailbox has never locked and the request for that to be fixed has also been ignored.

Not doing changes as committed in lease renewal letter. After several follow ups and service request, no change. Just greedy with tenants money.

Am Ezekiel. When I and my son first read the reviews, we got a little disturbed, not until I physically met and interacted with management staff, oh my God, it’s amazing staff. Mina and Janet are great & amazing staff. The property is such a quiet and safe neighborhood that I ever wished to have. Thanks to these two guys (Mina & Janet). Leasing agreement, policy and payment system were fully explained to my understanding and since I moved in they have always promptly responded to my concerns whether on phone or in the office. I think it’s always better to have the experience yourself than to be scared simply because others have said some bad stuff which might be personal or deliberate to defame. I love my apartment. Close proximity to main shopping centers and I-270.
I have leased apartment 2 months back and i have given several complaints which i have never faced till now. 1. Water leakage in restroom and kitchen because of Management laundry. When complained they never took seriously as a result it drowned my kitchen & restroom. 2. What made me more embarrassing is the response from management you are only getting laundry water to your home instead of saying we will stop it. 3. We faced issues with refrigerator, kitchen dispenser as well, so they just planted all refurbished pieces in apartments as a cover. 4. When i asked about change in apartment they asked me to pay extra 500$ for transfer and 2000$ for breakage. They caused the problem not solving it. I am not sure whom to give complaint giving a review as of now to all public sites
Unless you have some extra cash to spend, stay away from this apartment. Rule: Every tenant should have utilities on their name as on lease start date. I had it from the lease start date. still I was charged for failing to have it on my name, the charges were for gas and electricity and penalty. I shared the bills and they agreed to revert the charges. Later on I was told that we can revert just the charges, and penalty will stay. Infact I was rudely asked to do whatever I can but penalty will not be reverted. and thats $100 we are talking about. Its just one instance, add up all the additional costs and you can most probably by the property in Maryland heights. Note to Property manager: Dont reply with your usual response that how can you help, you cant cheat tenants and at the same time maintain your image by paid reviews. If at all you want to help, you very well know my details and resolve the issue, else dont bother to respond.
If 0 rating is an option, this place deserve that. Bunch of unethical poeple, whatever these office people say, NEVER EVER trust them. They will take you for a ride. If you think rent is cheap here, ohh well you are WRONG... the rent here is not at all cheap, as they will give you special and later on add several charges from thin air, trust me my rent here is possibly more expensive than staying in some well managed properties, nearby. Maintenance: Nothing, i repeat Nothing, will be fixed, Ever. Tickets will get closed and issues will remain. Something which cant be fixed or they dont want to fix, will becom part of Special Project. I threatened for legal recourse and to my surprise they are least bothered. Let me know if someone can guide me with the legal action i can take against these guys?
HORRIBLY RUN PLACE. DO NOT RENT with this community. DO NOT fall for their cheap tricks and CHEAP rent gimmicks. THEY WILL eventually charge you TONS of money when you move out. THEY ask you a professional cleaning for carpet even its 10 years old. They charge you for roaches even when there is not one and they don't even have proof of it. I'd give a 0 star if it's even an option. For management: your CHEAP tricks to take money from people won't take make you a successful company. I'll NEVER Recommend this place to even my enemy.

If there is anything we can do to make the situation better, please don't hesitate to reach out to the property manager directly at ctmomanager@monarchinvestment.com.
Moved in this May because I relocated from out of state and need a place fast. Oh what a mistake! The office staff act like the care about your concerns but just say enough to get you out the office. I informed them of a squirrel issue in the attic and was told it would be handled within the week for a month now yet nothing is being done. Others have told me the squirrels have actually gotten in. I would not advise anyone to move here. Windows are very out dated and barely keep air in or out.

I only wish I could give zero stars. I was really excited to live in this complex, in a townhome as they were incredibly spacious and close in proximity to many restaurants and stores off of Dorsett. My experience here was abysmal and the management team, especially Monarch Investments was unprofessional in every contact I had with them during my 12 month lease. All issues we filed maintenance requests for were given “band-aid” solutions, if they were addressed at all. We paid monthly for pest control, yet we dealt with mice, bats, cockroaches, wolf spiders, and brown recluse spiders. On the third floor, we could hear rodents constantly scampering inside the walls. At one point, the lock on our front door was replaced so our keys would not work and we were locked out. Management insisted they didn’t change the locks and said we were using our keys wrong (not sure how this is possible) until they finally acknowledged they had made a mistake. The parking was very low quality as there were only 10 spaces near my building housing 6 units. Once the spaces were filled, I had to park in another lot across the street from my unit. At one point, I had my car vandalized while parked in the lot. An inappropriate picture with a vulgar expletive was scratched into the side of my door. When i informed management of this issue in the lot, it was ignored. The biggest complaint I have is our air conditioning unit broke in the middle of July with the temperature being in the high 90s. It took 8 days for management to resolve this issue. We called everyday, including the emergency number provided by management. Each call was with a different member of the management and maintenance team and each time, they were clueless as to there being an issue at all. We never once received any form of apology for going 8 days without air conditioning in July. The manner in which the management team handled any and every issue was entirely unprofessional, disorganized, and frustrating as the renter. I am extremely disappointed in my time I spent at Cedar Trace and would not recommend living in this complex or renting in any other complexes managed by Monarch.

Hi, I'm living in cedar trace for a couple of years. Apartment is spacious. I270 is close and other shops are walkable. Issue here is even high priority maintenance tickets are not attended with intime line. I need to wait for a week to get that fixed. Swimming pool is not opened till June mid. As kids like to go in their summer holidays, I enquired about it. But I received a reply we will open soon without any date. No information been sent to residents. Most of the daytime or days swimming pool is closed. When enquired about pool, standard answer is "LIFE GUARD MIGHT BE IN LUNCH". Swimming pool is also not clean. Just for a reason, pool is opened but now its closed for a week.
I have been complaining about mice from more than 6 months. During this time I have bought some mouse-traps and caught 9 of them so far. But they keep coming back because they have failed to find the cause of this mouse-issue. It's not hygienic in kitchens. During lease-renewal they promised everything, like to provide new painting, new slidings on the windows, and provide proper insulations to the windows. After lease-renewal they forget everything. They say they can apply window insulation if I buy it. They say I need to pay for broken slidings on the window to replace it. Regardless of these issues, the rents are always at market rates. Their windows are in poor shape, due to which cold air keep coming in from the gaps. Which in turn keeps the heater running more and more. They couldn't replace this in last 2 years even after continuous complaints. Now I am thinking to move out as soon as my lease gets over. And I do not recommend these apartments to anyone.
Worst place to live in..they are taking advantage of the fact that its in a good school district and most Indians like to stay here ....Worst staff..rough ..rude...no maintenance..they take residents as granted and threatens to get out if questions bad behavior, no maintenance etc...Please keep away from these community.

Hello, my name is Jonathan with Monarch Investment and Management. I am sorry that your experience at our property has been unsatisfactory. I will be happy to look into any concerns that you have about your home. Please email me at residentservices@monarchinvestment.com, or you can reach out to our on-site staff.
Worst place to live in … I noticed rats in my kitchen area in my apartment. My carpet is really in bad situation and I feel like walking on the floor. But leasing staff doesn’t agree to this. I haven’t seen leasing staff so rigid and ignorant towards their residents concern.
One of the worst apartment to live in. Very worst maintanance which I have never experienced. No cleanliness. Poor on call response. Even if there is an emergency they will not respond.
This complex will beat any over size for price with town-homes at 2200 sf for rent that at most others would get you half the space and the location makes it easy to get around but don't think there aren't some compromises! The buildings are very old and none of our windows or doors seal; making the large space hard to heat and cool and causing large bills (Our windows are facing E and W so $350 monthly) Your water in added to your rent payment so look for that increase. Maintenance usually takes a few calls but they seem nice. Parking in some spots in the the street, unless you get the garage unit, and of coarse they are not responsible for the teens behaviors in the neighborhood. I would also plan on the rent jumping a good bit with every year you stay due to the age of the buildings. You can most definitely find worse places, but you like a really "homey feel" you may not be too happy here.

Nice quiet, spacious apartments or townhomes, pools with lounge chairs and tables, playground for kids, actually kid friendly. The complex is well-maintained and the staff friendly and helpful to residents. Close to interstates 70. 270 & 64, grocery stores, great restaurants in walking distance and many activities in the area. Terrific place and area to live!!
