Property Ratings at Cedarfield at Churchland Apartments
My first apartment we've been staying out here for about a year-and-a-half and head about 7 department managers 12 different maintenance personals working. Nothing gets done when it's supposed to. It's a good area to stay in but I don't know about these apartments not for the price they want to charge you for something that they said they remodeled and still look the same.......... VERY DISAPPOINTED
Leaving this place was the best thing our family could have done. Number 1. Our AC went out, called them to fix it and it never got it fixed. They basically told us to deal with it. Number 2. There was garbage everywhere. And when it rains it stunk so bad because of the trash. Number 3. There staff is rude. The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. Number 4. I provided them two separate addresses where they can forward the last bill. Spelled it out for them. They managed to write down the wrong information. Months later I have a debt collector calling me to resolve the issue. Not one letter was sent. They claim they sent multiple letters. Yea I bet they did to the WRONG address. I'm telling you do not MOVE IN here.
NONE of the bathrooms have a single outlet. If you want to blow dry your hair, plug a nightlight in, too bad. The utility closet is IN the master bedroom. You can hear the water heater & the heater kick on every time. If you want Fios, there will also be a box on your bedroom wall because there is no access in the utility closet. The bathroom fixtures are dated, much like the rest of the unit. The tub is VERY shallow, though probably standard length. You can DEFINITELY hear your neighbors, and if those neighbors happen to work odd hours, you will hear their loud conversations in their kitchen at midnight. The kitchen is SMALL. If you're a family of 4, you may have trouble storing food & dishes. The cabinets are hideous. The fridge is probably as old as I am, is small, & because of the layout, blocks the entire entryway when open. The oven is also old (had to light the pilot when I moved in, which meant taking the door and bottom pan off). The dishwasher opens right into the oven door. You have to jam it to open all the way because it's set too close together. The top of the dishwasher doesn't fit most of my cups. The big single sink can be challenging because there is no sprayer. It is MARKEDLY colder downstairs in the winter. Set at 65, it's nearly freezing downstairs while almost too warm for comfort upstairs. There is a single unit to control the temperature. Every townhouse has a (little) patio. There is a small storage area under the staircase. The access door is narrow & it is SHORT inside, but with patience it can be SUPER helpful. Upstairs the master bedroom has 2 double-door closets. In a 3 bedroom, there is also a half bath in the master suite. So far, it has been quiet. I haven't heard any crazy domestic situations or seen people just hanging out outside at all hours of the night. The living room is spacious and the half bath downstairs is a nice touch for guests. There is laminate downstairs. You can easily keep your carpet upstairs cleaner by taking shoes off downstairs. There is a pool on-site, as well as a small playground, though we've not used the pool yet. It is really close to the middle and high schools, but the elementary school you can see is NOT zoned for this complex. Overall, it's not terrible. It could definitely use some updating and some deep maintenance (like not being able to hang curtain rods because it's just too worn down in that spot!), but it's a quiet place to live.
I recently moved into this property and have had maintenance in my unit every week to patch up things that should have been taken care of prior to me moving in. I wish I had actually used the advice of others and not moved in. The roaches are huge so don't move here unless you enjoy roaches in your home.
There was water/moisture damage discovered by myself and my 2 kids father within 1-2 weeks of moving in on 15 April 2016 into their apartment townhome community. All they did was cover up with a Kilz paint which is used for stains and said that no moisture found throughout closet. My renters rights have not been met and they were dishonest with my townhome and now jeopardizing our health for $$ and for numbers.
