Property Ratings at Cedars at Greenbrier
I have lived here for 3 months and this is what I’ve learned.. for internet/cable they only have one company who services the property (telecom systems) who they have profit sharing with (off telecoms website). They charge 70 a month for 125mbps which is high but would be ok if it didn’t go down at least 3 times a month and they won’t give you any kinda eta they always just say a tech is on the way. Within my first week here the apartment above mines AC leaked into the walls and shorted out my AC which it took them over 3 weeks to fix the hole in the wall despite telling me daily they would be there first thing at 9am the next day. And when they finally did the drywall they don’t put up any kind of protection so the whole apartment was covered in dust from them sanding down the drywall.. the walls really are paper thin… and cars get broken into and stolen from here really regularly. The office staff is good but to me that’s just to get you to lower your guard so beware of that. I’m going to be breaking my lease to get out of here so save yourself stress and just find another place.
Liked the idea of being so close to the highway, Great Bridge and all the shopping and restaurants you could want and yet feeling secluded. The large trees, the lake and the layout of the property give it a rustic feel. Our Beagle goes to the doggie park and we get the exercise we need with the pool and gym. The staff are efficient and handle and problem we bring up to them swiftly and courteously. A great place for any age and family type. Ann and Bob
Property Manager at Cedars at Greenbrier, Responded To This Review
Hi Ann & Bob! Thank you so much for the review. We are so happy you chose The Cedars to call home for the last 12 years. We appreciate you guys so much!
The apt has thin walls and you can hear your neighbors. I Have requested multiple times to get them to spray our apt for bags and they never show. The apt has many openings to the outside through the vent form the dryer and a drain in the floor that allows bugs to come and go as they please. I don’t recommend
We recently moved into the Cedars and was that a mistake. Since we have been here both of our cars have been broken into. The apartment was not clean at all when we moved in. There was numerous amounts of dust located everywhere. If you can find somewhere else to move then I would suggest you do it. The walls are so thin I can hear my neighbors TV and even their cell phone ringing. Oh and in this decade how many apartments do you know that don't have microwaves installed in them? The Cedars doesn't!!!! This is not a good place to live.
To them, a 24 hour notice means they'll send you an email in the afternoon saying the water will be shut off the next morning. Or they leave a note on your door after 5PM saying they can come in the next day. The walls are thin; if a neighbor has their TV on at any reasonable volume you will hear it. The drywall is so cheap that it's literally coming off the wall just from being perpendicular to a tension rod. Wasps all over the place. Landscaping comes far too often, making a ton of noise well past normal business hours. Landscaping does not need to be done every single week. So if you have a baby or work night shift, this isn't the apartment for you. I was not informed of any major ongoing project involving the water when I signed the lease. The water was shut off dozens of times. Sometimes with notice, other times without notice. Maintenance staff is AWESOME. They are the saving graze of this apartment complex.
Moved in a month ago all employees are very helpful and friendly. Residents are very friendly
This review is of my old apartment. If you want a place to live where your not just apartment 242 and that is constantly striving to make the area a community, that's where you should move. From birthday cards too chili cook offs they present many opportunites to meet the staff and your neighbors. I only left because I needed more room. I miss the Cedars everyday and where I live just shows that genuine customer service trumps big and fancy anyway. Thank Cedars for making me want to come home everyday. Your Cedars Cheerleader!!
I am a first time renter and moving into the Cedars at Greenbrier was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I am minutes away from the mall, Va. Beach & Norfolk. I am close to lots of restaurants and parks. The staff at the Cedars made moving in so easy. They were very helpful and whenever, I have a question they are quick to respond when I contact them. They even host monthly gatherings for the complex. It gives the renters the opportunity to meet and mingle with one another. The noise level is almost zero; and yes, there are children out here, too. I would highly recommend this apartment complex to others. You won't be disappointed.
These apartments are older but not uncomfortable. The layout makes the living room seem much smaller than other apartments we have lived in. Other than our noisy upstairs neighbors the community itself is fairly quiet. My husband and I have taken great enjoyment from our walks around the pond with it's ducks, geese, and turtles.
I absolutely fell in love when I saw these apartments! They had everything I wanted. A nice pool, a great view of a lake from my balcony, high ceilings, and a perfect staff. The staff in itself is wonderful. They're polite and always smiling. They just make you feel like home. Overall a great place!
My experience at the cedars has been a good one. They have been very friendly and accommodating for the most part and the apartment has fit the needs of my family and I. It is a very nice set up for the price in my opinion and the only negative is that if you live on the second floor you can generally hear the people above you walking around at times.
Nice apartments, safe environment, and staff is nice too. Just need to work on pricing of rentals
This is my first apartment. I am loving it. The complex managers are very friendly and are always available. They keep the complex abreast of activities to do throughout the year. The neighbors are friendly and the complex is very quiet with security patrolling the parameters of the complex after hours. The rent is quite reasonable, too. Let's not forget the location. There's a catch and release lake, and at least once a month there is a get together for the residents and their families. This gives everyone in the complex the opportunity to mingle with one amother & have some fun. I'm so glad I choose The Cedars@Greenbrier.
I love everything about living here. The apartments are kept in very good condition as are the grounds. If at any time I have a problem all I have to do is call maintence and it is taken care of with reasonable time. I love the picnic area with the lake, most relaxing and the fishing too. The office staff are the nicest people to deal with, the maintenance crew are very respectable and helping. It is very convenient to shopping, restaurants, hospital, and interstate. I don't know how anyone would not like it here. I have been here for 12 years and don't even consider moving.
