Property Ratings at Cedarwood Village Apartments
First and foremost, Sarah manages the property exceptionally well. Her professionalism, efficiency, and genuine care for the residents is evident in every interaction. Staff goes above and beyond to ensure that all concerns are addressed promptly, and they create a warm and welcoming environment that makes you feel like part of a big family. The apartments themselves are simply stunning. The layout is intelligently designed, maximizing space and providing a comfortable living experience. I love coming back to my cozy abode after a long day, knowing that I have a place that truly feels like home to myself and my kids. Speaking of home, the amenities offered here are outstanding. Whether it's the state-of-the-art fitness center, the 2 swimming pools, the tennis courts, the bark park or the beautifully landscaped communal areas, there's always something to enjoy and unwind. The on-site maintenance team is also incredibly efficient, ensuring that everything is in working order, and they respond promptly to any requests. Safety and security are paramount, and I feel completely at ease in this community. The complex is well-lit and the buildings are are unable to be entered without a key. It's comforting to know that mine and my kiddo’s well-being is a top priority for the management team. Location-wise, this complex is a dream come true. It's conveniently situated near all the amenities one could ask for, including shopping centers, restaurants, and entertainment options. Commuting is a breeze, thanks to its proximity to major highways and public transportation options. Last but not least, the sense of community here is truly heartwarming. Neighbors are friendly and respectful, and there are often social events and gatherings organized, which provide an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow residents. It's wonderful to be part of a community that feels like a close-knit family. I just had to save my favorite thing for last. The amazing views!! I spend most of my time on my balcony because of just how beautiful the view is and the peaceful atmosphere it is. I refer to it as my “zen zone.” I cannot recommend this apartment complex highly enough. It has truly become my sanctuary, a place where I can relax, thrive, and make lasting memories with my family. If you're looking for a place to call home, this is the perfect choice. Thank you to everyone at Cedarwood Village for creating such an amazing living experience. Keep up the fantastic work!

This is a wonderful place to live! I grew up in west Akron and have been at Cedarwood for going on six years. The apartment is nice and it is conveniently located next to the towpath and other shops that I use. They have improved their amenities and the gym/pool table and the new basketball courts are heavily used by my kids and myself. If there is ever an issue, Lindsay at the front desk always has an answer for me! Staff is friendly, and if something in my apartment is broke, maintenance is there within that day!

These apartments are mediocre at best. I lived on here for a little over a year and it is decent. My apartment is more updated than some of the apartment buildings here. The kitchen is very small, but the bedrooms are nice and the living room is large. It is pet friendly which is nice too. Maintenance isn’t the greatest. Seems like they try to do the minimal fixes and take the easy way out rather than really fixing the issue. We have had a few issues and they always seemed to not fix it correctly or do a minimal fix and call it “good enough.” Lots of people smoke weed here. Our apartment reeks of weed some days from neighbors. The office sends out notices about it but people don’t care. There is a lot of neighbors that are rude and don’t follow rules. They don’t seem to get disciplined regardless of how many notices the apartment mangers send out. Overall, it is decent. I mainly put my complaints here because it seems like since 2024 started things have went downhill. Before then, I didn’t have as many complaints.

Lived at Cedarwood for almost 2 years now and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. The property is nice and quiet and is conveniently located right off the towpath where I can walk my dog. Management is also super friendly and always willing to answer any questions.

Management does not care about their tenants. Treat tenants as if their concerns are valid. Lack of urgency. Would not recommend. Outrageous fees if you were to break lease for issues that they have not fixed

I invite you to reach out to me in more detail at ResidentServicesOH@MonarchInvestment.com. Best regards.
First years was great then change to new management when things started to go bad. Only one maintenance man that’s confident that would fix the problem other just lazy and would lie to get out of the work. Poor up keep of the parking lot and management refusing to do anything. There answer to money issue due to COVID was to borrow money from family to pay rent. This is my last year staying here. If you want to pay high rent with poor staff and management this is the place for you.

It’s standard apartment living, nuthin fancy. A little pricey for the condition and look of the units but it’s safe and quiet. Been here 3 years, have needed maintenance once and they were quick. Good location

Hello, thank you for the positive feedback! We're always happy to hear good things from our residents. Thanks again for being a loyal resident here at Cedarwood Village and writing this awesome review about our community!
Pretty good apartments, decent pricing for the area. Love the metro parks nearby and the river surrounds the property. Maintenance is hands on and knowledgeable and the ladies in the office are very pleasant, Dominyque always goes above and beyond when I need something. The only concern would be because it’s pet friendly there’s so much poop around the property. I wish neighbors would be a little more considerate!

Thank you for the positive feedback! We're always happy to hear great things from our residents here at Cedarwood Village. We try to work hard with our neighbors to ensure that the community is neat and clean and appreciate everyone's help with this. Again, thank you so much!
I have moved into Cedarwood Village in June 2017 and have been pleased with the services. I have called when some of the sidewalk lamp posts were not working and they were repaired within two days. The maintenance staff is very professional and works quickly to resolve the problem. Groundskeeping crew has a very difficult task keeping cleaning the grounds, especially since some of the residents don't pick up after their dogs. Potential renters might avoid Cedarwood Village because of the local bars, but really it is a very quiet neighborhood. Come and check out Cedarwood Village.
DO NOT LIVE HERE. I am a 25 year old graduate student who moved here 2 years ago because I thought the Valley was "fun". Sadly mistaken. I have had the most horrific experience in this apartment complex. I am currently in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, and I have no lived in a worse situation. We have had bugs not once, not twice, but 3 times in this unit due to management refusing to spray the entire complex when our neighbors moved out and then again refusing to spray hallways (which is where the bugs were visible). The bars are SO loud it is impossible to fall asleep before 2 am every Wednesday and Saturday. Management is horrible when it comes to notifying maintenance of work that needs to be completely, you have to track down maintenance yourself. We have also came home numerous times to individuals in our apartment without a 24 hour notice. Once I came home to a note on our door (no call), a completely different refrigerator and all of my food laying out because they "accidently" got the apartment numbers wrong and switched out our working refrigerator by mistake. When I called and asked if we could have our working, larger one back they said no and that I should be happy I got a "new" - not new by the way, there was someone else's spilled liquid all over the bottom. Oh, and we also have a wasp's nest our on balcony - I am deathly allergic - and when asked if they could handle it management said they don't cover that and we should just spray it ourselves. Needless to say, STAY AWAY. There are many lovely apartments in the Akron area, this is not one unless you like doing everything yourself, enjoy bugs and stray cats in your hallways, and are okay constant power outages, or basically anyone looking to party every weekend at the Valley bars.
I really wanted to like this place, but it's absolutely horrible. When we moved in, we were immediately sick. We opened our vents, and there was an INCH thick of dust in every single vent. The windows do not shut properly, so there is always a draft. In the lease, we have to take care of pests. We have caught FIVE mice in our kitchen within the past two days. There is a hole under our sink that they are coming in from, but maintenance refuses to close it up. All of the doors to the building are supposed to be locked at all times. However, our garbage door is always left wide open, and raccoons have gotten in. The noise sucks. We live right next to the bar district, and it's loud until 3am. We don't have designated parking, so sometimes we come home and have to park multiple buildings down because the bar hoppers are parking at our building. Every time we talk to the staff, they are rude. They seem annoyed whenever you ask for help.
Not too shabby. Great area lots of things to do in the area and they've been updating a lot
Whether you like drinking, nature, or classy plays, this place has it all! Bars are very close to the buildings with no extra noise. The Cuyahoga National Valley Hiking Trails are also just a short walk from most of the buildings. Also, the Weathervane Playhouse is right at the entrance to the apartment buildings and residents receive discount tickets year round! Staff are friendly as well!
Cedarwood village apartments are nice at first. The model apartment the office shows is very up to date with the kitchen cabinets, sinks, tiles and carpet. Our apartment is spacious, but the cupboard and cabinet space is not very accommodating. There is a workout center, a pool (which you have to pay to use) and free community room. All in all, it is a decent apartment but the company who owns them is very money hungry. Our apartment's patio has been caved in for over a year and the staff in the office can't give us a good answer as to when it will be repaired. Other than that, if you have a lot of cash to dish out it is in a prime spot for Akron. The mall is 10 minutes away but the Akron valley is quiet and the nearby metro park is a perfect place to go on a nature walk.
It is a great community with great staff. The landscaping and outdoor facilities like the tennis courts and pools are great!! Pets are welcome and dogs have their own dog park here. I plan to be here for awhile becuase I am attached. I love it here.
