Property Ratings at Centro Apartments
I needed to relocate for a new job and had a list of 10+ properties to tour in the area. Centro stood out so much that I decided to stop looking after 5 tours . Rebecca in the leasing office was wonderful and very helpful in explaining the property and the area and eventually ended up signing me to the same unit I toured. I've been here almost a full 2 years now, and haven't had any complaints. I've had no issues with parking and maintenance has been easy to schedule as well as prompt and thorough with the few request I've had. The property feels nice and secluded with the trees and landscaping. Everything felt clean and well cared for in the unit and the other facilities. To me Centro feels more like a home or residence rather than an apartment unit which is the main reason I've decided to live here. Thank You Again Rebecca, Centro was the right choice.

Place is horrible for being one of the higher priced places in the area. I’ve lived here for a month the water is shut off for hours on end for Multiple days in a row Because of outdated plumbing. The apartment is an electrical nightmare. Electric plugs will work one day and not the next. My dishwasher hasn’t worked since I’ve been here. The garbage disposal doesn’t work and the sink drains very slowly.I requested a light bulb it’s been over a month and nothing. The bathroom doors don’t latch. It’s pretty much a 1980s apartment with a new paint job. Place doesn’t have air conditioning. The staff is absolutely no help. Most of the amenities like the pool and hot tub are usually closed. The staff usually sends out an email once a week threatening the complex that they are going to remove dumpsters for being over filled or shut all amenities down for over flowing trash cans. The staff seemed very confused about the rental process. The day before my move in they emailed me saying they gave me the wrong move in date resulting in me having to get a hotel until the apartment was ready. The staff does nothing to remedy any of these situations. There is usually loud parties at all hours of the night because the complex got rid of security to save a buck. Every neighbor I talk to says since the new management took over it’s been like this and won’t be staying here. I’m to the point that I’m going to move elsewhere. I would highly recommend steering clear of this place.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback and we sincerely apologize that your experience hasn't been the best over the last month. I would like the opportunity to speak to you directly about the issues mentioned and schedule a time with you for our maintenance team to come out and fix the dishwasher, garbage disposal, bathroom door, and lightbulb. I can be reached at MSamuelson@ElevateToCentro.com. We understand that we missed the mark and would like to help remedy theses issues. Thank you. -Michael Samuelson, Community Manager
Centro is one of the top apartment complexes in the neighborhood and is conveniently located close to all the important stores, restaurants, hospital and the highway. Most of the buildings in the complex are located away from the main roads so road noise isn't usually an issue. The apartments are well-designed with modern elements, light fixtures and appliances. The included community amenities such as gym, pool, car wash etc. are also a great bonus. Maintenance team is available all day round and are quick to respond and fix any issues. The place is safe and secure and gives the feeling of a community. The walls may sometimes feel thin if you're out of luck and end up with a noisy neighbor but that's just a general con of living in an apartment. The rates are quite competitive and there are a ton of flexible leasing options to suit your needs. The leasing office staff are great and always helpful. One of the coolest perks is that they let you get two of your walls painted in a color of your choosing from a list which not many apartments offer. That goes on to improve the aesthetics of your apartment by a great deal. I have been living here for almost a year and chose to move to a new apartment with better sunlight within Centro itself. Ivett from the leasing office was in charge of both my initial lease a year ago and my recent transfer. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in answering all my questions (which were plenty) and made sure everything went through in a smooth and seamless manner. All in all, I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a new place to stay.

PROS: Amenities are updated and nice Floorplans are spacious and open The maintenance team is awesome Fun Dog Park and walking trails CONS: where to begin... The walls are paper thin. I hear what my upstairs neighbors are talking about on a daily basis, even when they're speaking at a normal level. That being said, when they are literally hammering and drilling stuff in their living room, and when they're dog is running up and down the hall at 2am it is VERY LOUD. The unit across from us has a dog that barks when people walk by or open doors to units next to them. Not every unit has a neighbor with an extremely obnoxious dog, but if they do, it is very easy to hear. If you work from home this is NOT the place to live. The office staff is very friendly but, quite frankly, they are incompetent. My roommate had moved out half way through the lease and I found someone else to take over for her. We provided all of the necessary documents and followed up with them multiple times to make sure everything was taken care. A month later when we decided to put our 30 day notice in was when they finally realized they messed up and never even processed the new application or took my old roommate off of the lease. On top of all of that, they ended up running my application - for some reason that makes absolutely no sense to me - and dinged my credit even though I wanted to LEAVE these apartments not apply for a new lease. I wish I could say that's all that's gone wrong with the leasing office but unfortunately it isn't... I'll spare you the details though. The quality of the apartment and appliances, even in the upgraded floorplans, is very cheap. Our oven started smoking the first time we used it, the towel rack and toilet paper holder has broken too many times to count (and yes we're very gentle with it), my windows didn't even have screens on them when I moved in, the design is frustrating (for example, the dishwasher opens up in front of the sink so it is impossible to load it and rinse your dishes, the closet door won't close because the hangers hang out farther than the doorframe, etc), multiple outlets don't work, there were swarms of bees, yes BEES, getting into our house that they just kept saying would go away. Not everyone's experience here at Centro is this bad, but I highly recommend you find somewhere else to live. This has been an a frustrating, confusing, and exhausting experience and I cannot wait to leave this place.

Hello, I would like to sincerely apologize for any negative experience you may have had. We take noise complaints seriously and do what we can to address excessive noise during and after-hours, per the lease. Our team takes responsibility for the mix-up regarding your roommate switch and I have spoken to the team about this in hopes that we can avoid this in the future. I would like to apologize for this. When we run an application, it is a soft hit on your credit, so it should not have made a negative impact on your credit score. As for your other concerns, this is the first I am hearing about them. If you would like to discuss these in more detail, you can reach me directly at ASchulz@ElevateToCentro.com. Sincerely, Amanda Schulz Community Manager
This is the best apartment complex in the neighborhood. Great location with a ton of walking trails near by. They really care about the property and the grounds always look great. Im very happy with my decision to live here! Another note, the office staff and maintenance team is the best! They will go above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of.

The team at Centro is delightful and caring! They’re always willing to go out of their way to help. I’ve only had positive experiences at Centro. From the maintenance associates, leasing and management they all truly care about this community. Not to mention the apartments are beautiful. ??

Hello Marilyn, WOW! Thanks so much for the amazing feedback! I am so happy to hear that you've had only positive experiences here. The team here at Centro is definitely very special and I appreciate you taking the time to write a review. Thanks again! Regards, Amanda Schulz Community Manager
Our apartment is beautiful. They've always been quick with the few service requests I've needed over the past 2 years. Everyone is friendly. The pool, spa and fitness room is beyond amazing as well. The new parcel pending system is working wonderfully. I was shocked to read the negative reviews. It's a little spendy but you pay for quality in my opinion and everyone where else is same price for less. IMO. I look forward to renewing. HJ
They claim that this is “your” home, but gripe and complain by leaving letters on your door. The say 72-hour maintenance guaranteed. I’m almost positive that they don’t know how long that actually is. They should probably get rid of the guarantee or actually abide by it. Rent is way too high for what you get. If you have an issue with an appliance they may get around to fixing it. If they can’t fix it they replace it with a cheaper model. Probably not even the same one you had. Service request are often forgotten about anyway. Might as well do it yourself. At least than you know it got done. New people move in and complain and they want to threaten you with eviction, though no one in the many years has ever had a problem. Most of our neighbors are awesome so I wonder if the complaints are even real. Along with the new company came new landscapers. They always cut down the bushes that not only shade our patio but also give us privacy. Bye bye to both. I wouldn’t recommend moving here to anyone. Can’t wait to get out. Sincerely disappointed resident.

I am extremely happy about having moved to Centro. My moving experience was above and beyond my expectations. Staff is diligent, efficient, professional and very nice. My apartment is exactly what I wanted, comfortable, spacious and with great appliances. Additionally, Valet Trash and Parcel Pending works very well. Special thanks to Jacob and Amanda, two of Centro’s best staff members.
1. Rent is horribly high, and they increase every year without improving the home you live in 2. You get a notice every other day on your door letting you know you did something wrong, put up lights for one night of romance on our back porch, next day get a notice. Get a notice saying you have 72 hours to pay rent or your evicted, even when you PAID rent 3. You ask for something to get fixed in your apartment they never do it 4. The one manager Richard drives around in the golf cart without a care for people walking, almost ran over my kid. 5. The gym looks pretty but there is no upkeep, the machines all have TVs but none of them work I could continue but likely will get a notice on my door if I do, would love to move out but rent is so high I can’t afford it.

Hi. Thank you for voicing your concerns. We always welcome feedback, both positive and constructive. Speaking on patios, curb appeal is extremely important to us. We do have restrictions in place for certain items in order to maintain uniformity throughout the property and to avoid any unnecessary fire hazards. We are happy to review the patio regulations with you at any time. With regards to rent, per Oregon Law, we are required to post 72-hour notices on the 8th of each month if rent is not paid. If you have specific circumstances you would like to discuss with the office, please let us know. We will always try to work with you as best we can. When time allows, please reach out to the office to discuss your concerns with maintenance issues in your home that may have been missed. We have a 72-hour guarantee for our work orders to be addressed/completed and if we have missed the mark for any reason with this, we apologize and will take care of this ASAP. Best, Aaron Marinovich Community Manager
This place is a pig with lipstick on it. It has no parking. Management is less than friendly and the last 2 service requests were forgotten about by the staff. For what you pay there are way better options. STAY AWAY!
I’ve been with Centro for several years when Holland Resedential Managed it. I had no complaints. Then, one day out of the blue, Sequoia Management Buys it, wipes out all staff we are used to working with, with very little communication to residents. Additionally, they then proceeded to start locking all of our community trash bins that we PAY for to dump trash in. They then proceed, to put 2-5 page letters on your door, with many changes. No AC units are allowed in your Window anymore, among many other changes, that benefit the management company, not residents. They have not set up online payment methods for us, and go around taking pictures of your valet trash can, threatening you with fines, even though nobody complained for 2 years. They also brought in new landscaping company, that blocks getting out of the facility, and lave the trash compactor bin open, which flies open and nearly hits cars. Fortunately, we are buying a house soon, otherwise I would terminate my lease, and take my business elsewhere. Don’t recommend this company, they are snakes in disguise.
Once you sign the contract she doesn't care anymore. The staff loses your package and weeks later you found out that they did sign for it. Moreover, they clearly doesn't know who to do math. When you point out their mistakes, they become unhappy and charge you more on the things which you don't have control of as a revenge, which is very immature. The worst of all is that the house condition is really bad, you hear all the conversation of neighbors and the house it self is old but all they do is repainting and renaming their apartment so that they can get rid of the bad reviews.
These apartments recently renamed themselves under new management to align with their commitment to the community they service. The only problem is they do not put all of their residents first. The put their pocket books and image of themselves at everyone's expense. One of the numerous examples of when the management dropped the ball and ruined all the residents lives was when they re did the parking area. I had a baby at the time and they were letting the people who pay for covered parking spots into the community but those who did not were allowed in. I just wanted to drive in and drop off my infant with her father then i would go park elsewhere. I was denied entrance, but the pizza delivery driver allowed entry. So instead I carried my child from blocks away home, the manage says they were unaware of the situation and allowed all their staff to leave the property prior to completion of the job. Good management would see a job to its completion and also work for its residents and not create a hectic chaotic event. Over the course of 3 years, rent had consistently every year gone up $200 dollars. Yet the value of the unit and the community has remotely stayed the same. They have upgraded the pool and hot tub area, which is lovely. BUT... Outsiders are always taking over the area and having parties which can be disruptive. But also makes it so there is no seating for actual residents who want to enjoy the amenities. The splash pad that was put in for child was a great idea, if they heated the water. The water is so cold that no children are actually able to use it. They inform you upon move in that they have valet trash service, only you come to learn that they are going to charge your for two garbage fees, which in the end does not seem worth it. The units are not very energy efficient, they do not hold heat and still have the 1970's baseboard heaters (that is what needs to be updated.) They show the model unit and tell you the unit you will be living in is comparable but it is not! We were shocked by moving into something we though would be great but then it was awful, a 1/4 inch of dust on every surface, scratches on the counters, blinds that didnt work, and out dated appliances.
I was seduced by these apartments about two years ago because they seemed lavish and beautiful. The first year was greatish aside from the monthly landscaping which is more like the clear cutting a forest by the sound of it, also extremely high rent. The week after I resigned my lease (i should note that they jacked my rent up by $100 after signing) for the second year they started construction and it has not stopped ever since. Every week they are roofing or siding or tearing up concrete or tarring the road. I would only recommend you move to this place if you are a sadist. Or if I really hated you.
I love my apartment's layout, amount of space, location and natural views. In fact, these qualities are so good that I haven't wanted to move in several years. It is an older apartment, which means the appliances work well but certainly don't have the latest features, and there's no central AC as there is in newer complexes. The management has started to make updates to the community (especially the clubhouse), which unfortunately may have been a contributing factor for greatly increased rents. I don't feel like the updates have benefitted me enough to warrant the increase, but I also know that my rent is still at the "lower" end compared with newer complexes in the area. Another thing I've noticed is that the kind of neighbors I've had has changed over the past few years. I've noticed a handful of domestic disturbances that have involved police intervention. I do generally feel safe in the community, but it's just not as quiet or peaceful as it once was. Frankly, it's also not as upscale. A positive aspect of the community is that both the office and maintenance staff are kind and helpful.
I had one apartment experience prior to living here at Rock Creek Landing . . . it was less than enjoyable. Rock Creek Landing's staff are helpful and friendly. Even though my apartment has not been renovated, I love it! Our community property is like a park, the leasing office has been updated as well as the fabulous fitness center. We've spent so many relaxing days both at the pool and on our fantabulous porch! Walking distance to shopping, movies, restaurants, walking paths, nature and downtown Portland only 20 minutes driving distance! .I couldn't be happier, and would happily live here for years! So... I'll start with the bad. The walls/floors/ceilings are not as sound-proofed as the could be. Typically, you can hear cabinets bouncing shut from next door, or the trickle of water through the pipes as your neighbor showers. Our downstairs neighbor has a very lonely dog (yapping and howling on and off throughout the day) but it's all balanced out for me since we have noisy kids that I can't convince to stop jumping off of things (which means loud thumps for our downstairs neighbor, I'm sure). One other minor complaint is that they can get a bit warm. There's no AC and while the ceiling fans help, this Summer, in particular, has been a pretty warm one and we've had a little discomfort a few days. For the most part, however, it cools down enough in the evening to still get a good night's sleep. That said... I love it here! The location is excellent - just a few blocks East or West and you're in modern shopping centers with any kind of food you might want and all the shopping you could need. It's super green - trees everywhere, and the bike trail along the nearby creek is great for the kids to cruise along. The pool and jacuzzi are clean and feel really private - being surrounded by trees outside the fence. The pool is only seasonal, unfortunately, but the jacuzzi is year round. The newly remodeled fitness center is a little light on weights (has some dumbells and a universal machine, basically), but has lots of cardio equipment - which seem to be the most popular anyway. The staff has always been friendly and helpful (Rebecca has been FANTASTIC). We even get a courtesy call if packages are waiting for pickup for a few days. The maintenance staff has been awesome. We only had need a couple times but when Ignacio ("Nacho") shows up - you know your troubles are over. He arrived promptly (you can see them scooting around the complex all the time) and ripped through the two or three trouble areas we had in a matter of minutes. Knowledgeable and courteous - they get an A from me. I see lots of pets walking around here - but we don't have one so I can't really speak to how that goes. I've seen baggie posts around - so they seem to be pretty conscientious. I suppose one final note: To get into Portland, you'll take the 26 East and that gets pretty congested... so be warned. If you're planning on commuting into Portland every day - you might wanna keep that in mind. All said and done - I really couldn't be much happier.
I've lived here for two years now and love it... but I am moving because the increase in rent for a year lease is 10% more (and was more than 10% last year). I have been priced out, but if you can afford it its a great community and the staff is great! It's located near everything, shopping a few blocks east, a new hospital near that same shopping, and 5 minutes to highway 26.
Rock Creek Landing is a very nice apartment complex, but it is lacking in some key features that would make it incredible. The apartments are clean and contain most amenities but are not incredible quality. I've never really loved the floor plans and the fixtures are dated and cheap. The walls are very thin and the building's insulation is poor. However, the apartment complex grounds compensate effectively. Well maintained landscaping is always appreciated. The exterior of each apartment building is pleasantly designed and in good repair. There is a variety of outside recreational activities (grills, gazebos, playground, hiking/biking trails, swimming pool, hottub, and even a small basketball court). I am excited about the recently renovated (soon to be completed) main office and exercise facility. The staff is quick, efficient, and helpful. My neighbors are extremely pleasant, many people live here with families including pets and children, and overall it's a nice place to live. Nearby is the Tanasbourne shopping areas, several grocery stores, and it's only 5-10 minutes away from Intle's Ronler Acres campus. My only complaint on this front is that there is no shopping or restaurants in easy walking distance, but everything is a short drive away. If the apartments themselves were nicer, I'd rate this a 5. As it stands, I think a 4 is fair.
My husband and I lived on a second floor apartment for a year and it was awful!! We never got any peace and quite because the floors and ceilings are so thin that we could hear the people below us and above us! It was so frustrating because we really couldn't complain about the noise because they weren't doing anything wrong, its not their fault the building is poorly built. Even with our T.V and washer and dryer on we always knew when our neighbors were home because it felt like we were all living in the same apartment! What really grosses me out is the fact that I could hear the people above us going to the bathroom! Ewww!!! Unless you want to know what the people above or below you are doing at all times, I say pass on this place. For the price we were paying we found another place, that also has an occupied apartment above and below and we never hear our neighbors! Keep searching elsewhere...
The price is honestly way too high for what you get. Carpet is the first to mention, stains and high traffic areas looked horrible upon move in with frayed carpet ends. One of the worst things though are the fact that the cabinets are beyond cheaply "renovated" that when we put dishes on the shelves, paint came off with the dishes and 3 of the bathroom drawers were closed with wet paint. We did get the updated counter top(yes one top, not tops) but when they replaced the top that wasn't quite as thick as the previous counter top they choose to leave the cocking and old paint exposed and leave all of the debris laying around on the carpet. I have spoken to management about the amount of debris that maintenance staff leaves, not exaggerating on this, they open boxes or bring in new carpet and leave chunks of padding and cardboard pieces laying throughout thecovered walkways. Parking is horrible, I park 6 out of 7 days a week about 5 buildings away, which what seems to happen is, people with carports choose to park closer in free spots and then just never use the carport. The facelift is just poorly done, hot tub isn't 24 hours like I have been "sold on" at 2 Holland Properties in a row. The great about this place is the layout, upstairs units have a great large feel about them with the half vaulted ceilings and the landscape is greatly done and nicely maintained. Nice having Rock Creek next to this place and very very conveniently located around just about everything.
