Property Ratings at Century Lake Apartment Homes
I’ve been living at century lake for almost a year now. From before I moved in, the staff has been incredibly helpful and friendly. The property manager helped get me moved in sooner than the original availability date and worked the scheduled renovations in while I was living there. Staff and neighbors are always very friendly, we’ve never had issues with anyone. Property is very well maintained and kid friendly. My kids have loved the new playground they installed and it seems the pool has been renovated for the upcoming season. It’s also worth noting the community is very pet friendly and they regularly host social events. The apartment floor plan itself has plenty of space for myself and two young children, balcony and external storage area is a huge positive in the warmer seasons. There is a lot of natural lighting with the large windows and the view from the second floor is really nice and very green/natural for the area. The complex location was amazingly accessible, equally distant from 75 or 275, with backroads available to get just about anywhere in Cincinnati and a lot of conveniently close stores (Kroger is about a three minute drive). Everything was clean when I moved in, appliances seemed new and haven’t had any issues. I didn’t have preferred parking, but I never had a problem finding a space or even having to walk too far across the lot. Heater/ac works very well for such a large apartment, I was concerned when temperatures hit sub-zero it might not keep up, but I never had any issues. Prices are a little higher than nearby apartments, but I would say that it is definitely worth it. I really can’t say enough positive things about the community, the apartments, and the staff. My family and I have had a wonderful experience with century lake and I would highly recommend the apartments and Morgan Properties.
The office manager is nice but the owner is incredibly, rude, condescending with little attempt to care about his tenants. He has spoken to me disrespectfully on numerous occasions after approaching him politely with open communication. In the year we have lived here we have endured a number of problems from the start. Upon moving in there were many issues such as broken cabinets, broken outlets, the washing machine not working, sliding doors falling off the hinges, blinds falling and breaking. In the year we have lived here we have required 20+ service requests and let me tell you they take forever to fulfill them. It once took them 2 months and 3 different requests to fix one thing. They have been doing construction on the pool since we moved in in September. It is now the middle of summer and the pool isn't anywhere near finished and I never see anyone working on it. I have nothing good to say about this apartment complex. Please do yourself a favor and find somewhere else. You don't want to deal with what we have dealt with.

Hi, We are sorry your opinion of Century Lake is so low. We try hard to give all our residents and guest exceptional service from the time they visit to the time they move out. To have 20 service request is not normal here at Century Lake and we hope they have all been completed. Our pool has taken longer then expected to complete, this is out of our control. However, we have made a lot of great improvements to our community such as: the buildings have all been painted, 50 % of the community have new windows, new dog park, the clubhouse is in the process of renovations, new lighting throughout the community etc. Please feel free to contact me should you have any other concerns. Mike - Property Manager
I’ve lived at Century Lake for a little over a year and it has been good. Although all the improvements they’ve made have been inconvenient at times, it all has enhanced the property. The outside of the whole complex has been painted. All the water pipes have been replaced. The windows of many apts have been replaced, and recently the dryer vents were all cleaned. The thing that impresses me most is that maintenance calls have been answered in a timely manner. Lastly, it’s quiet and the grounds are well kept. I feel safe and at home here.

I've only been here for a short time, but am happy to share about my experience thus far at Century Lake. It really starts with the staff, Adam and Mike in particular. Whenever I have questions or am confused about something, they are always quick to answer/assist (trust me, I've had a lot of questions so far). I run into them periodically as I've integrated myself into the community fairly quickly by walking my dog frequently, using the onsite laundry facility and visiting the mailroom often. Everyone I've ran into including other tenants have been polite and easy to talk to so far. I am happy to be a part of this community so far and am looking forward to what my future brings here! Kudos again to the staff for doing their best to make this an enjoyable experience (we all know moving isn't fun)!

Thank you so much for the positive review! Our goal is for all our residents to feel the same way. We will do our best to continue to make Century Lake a great place to live. How do you like our new dog park? Mike Klapp Property Manager
I've lived here over a year now and the apartment complex is great. The managers and maintenance workers are very friendly and quickly resolve any issues I've had. The appliances are new, and the layout of my two bedroom is great with a big closet and bathroom. I haven't had any problems with noise from other apartments either. The complex has been doing a lot of renovations recently to add lighting outside, paint all the buildings, and redo the parking lot concrete. Everythyhing they've improved looks really good! Overall a great complex choice, would recommend!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at century lakes. The office is incredibly friendly and understanding, and respond extremely quickly. My time from move-in to move-out was a positive experience. I did have an issue arise within my unit. (The handle on the loo broke). Within an hour and a half of my maintenance request, everything was repaired! This is a safe apartment community, and Glendale is a welcoming village. There are safe and beautiful walking trail’s located conveniently nearby, as well as plenty of shopping. The apartments are nice, recently renovated, and there’s plenty of parking.

I have been living at Century Lake for almost a year now and I love it. It is a quiet and beautiful apartment community. I was very satisfied with my two-bedroom apartment when I moved in, and now they are doing even more renovations to make the community even better. My favorite addition has been the dog park. My dog absolutely loves having a place to run around! And the community is so pet friendly!! Adam, the assistant property manager, is so wonderful and always so helpful if I have any questions. He responds almost instantly! Every time I walk outside I see someone from Century Lake working to make continual improvements. I would highly recommend living here! My experience has been a great one!

Thank you for leaving a wonderful review for us here at Century Lake Apartments. It's always great receiving such great feedback from our valued residents and we're glad you love it here. Our dedicated staff will be pleased to learn of your high praise. Mike KlappProperty Manager
The apartment was great when they showed the model. However we were welcomed to an apartment with broken stairs, repairs were made however you can feel the wood as you walk on the steps. Fell down the stairs due to slant and small size. Apartment smells of cat urine, and we don't have cats. We have made complaints of the smell however nothing has been done to get rid of or investigate for black mold smell. Whats worse is the smell is coming from the water heater area also the same area for the air filter. Allergy regimen increased since living here. Kitchen ceiling fell in on us the second week of living here. Repairs were made twice. If you view your apartment be sure to pull your mask down to smell, this is not the only apartment with the same issue THERE ARE OTHERS.

I’ve lived here for 8 months through all seasons now. Maintenance and office staff have been present and attentive. The quality at move in met my expectations. My Duke bill for this 2 bed 1 bath, second (top) floor apartment has been $146 at peak of summer, but as low as $48 in October. The utilities through Resident Portal have been $25-60. I cannot hear my neighbors unless they have loud speakers playing music outside. The patio door is drafty in the winter, but the central heat and air work great. My biggest complaint would be the popcorn walls. You can’t use command strips anywhere. Overall, the interior and the available staff have been great.
I lived here for a year and a half and while many aspects of the complex are "okay", many of the niceties quickly fall apart and you'll realize how little they care about providing the one service that landlords -actually do-. They largely don't do anything for tenants unless they're somehow losing money from it. In the winter, the parking lots are never salted or plowed and everything is iced over. You pay for "outside electricity", which the outside is barely lit at night and poses a personal security risk. The "gym" was two treadmills (one of which never worked) and a dimly lit lightbulb to really give it that horror movie feeling. They have coin operated laundry, but within the first week, they removed their change machine and never got a new one in all of our 19 months. The blinds in our first unit were broken in many spots and the manager said he was going to replace them, which he never did or mentioned again. The units themselves are okay, but the two that we lived in always had some pre-existing issue of some kind that would've been easily found if they followed a checklist. We moved out after our apartment flooded because our awful, loud upstairs neighbors backed up their sinks and never did anything about it. We waited for 6+ hours for a guy to show up and tell us that they could clean the water but the carpet would have to be completely replaced because water was in the padding below the carpet itself. The property manager said the apartment was "livable" and that they couldn't do anything about the carpet until later the next week, which would allow the sewage water to sit underneath the carpet and grow mold while we "lived" in it. We got sick twice moving our stuff out of the apartment on multiple trips. Once they learned we wanted to break our lease, they stopped the move-out process entirely - that unit could STILL have mold and all kinds of harmful bacteria in its floor and walls. I understand that some apartment complexes closer to cities make do with what they can given limited space and affordability. But charging rent THAT high and not doing anything to make your property better and tenants lives easier? It's just plain embarrassing.
When our son & his gf moved here about 6 months ago, we thought it was a beautiful area/apartment. But, we have seen that safety is an issue regarding other residents. We had gotten a call that they heard yelling on the 4th of July & police were actually there. Turns out a resident was yelling /threatening management outside. I asked my son if he knew the resident, but he just knew the apt. I told him to let mgmnt handle it. They pay their rent/ bills on time and to my knowledge don't cause problems. I don't think they have had to call maintenance even. The point of this review is to warn other parents/ family who can be upstanding residents that there is some complexes who would rather collect $$ than promote safety of their residents. Last I spoke to my son about the incident, the person was still there and now, he & his gf are afraid what could happen next time this person loses his cool. They have nieces & nephews that stay periodically, and don't need them subject to cursing & threatening of anyone. So, I am not wanting other people to move to an area where $$ is valued more than safety. I know my son & gf have the choice to move out before their lease is up or stick it out. I'm sure they could find a complex that doesn't put situations on the back burner just to have an apartment rented.
Living at Century Lake Apartments was the worst decision I have made. I was a very clean tenant who always took care of apartment problems and paid my bills on time. The area is nice but the management is terrible and they don't seem to care at all about their tenants (like dealing with used car salesmen)! The apartment was not clean when I moved in. They had painted the counter tops with regular paint (nothing like what they show online) which inevitably all chipped off and looked terrible. the blinds were filthy and the carpet had stains. The walls are like paper and you can hear everything going on outside and in your neighbors apartments.... not to mention, my electric bills in the summer and winter ranged $150-$250 for a 1 bedroom apartment with 1 tenant which is ridiculous. The office wouldn't accept packages from UPS and UPS wouldn't deliver to the second floor due to unsafe stairs so all tenants who live on the second floor have to go to UPS to pick up their packages. Apartment utilities (trash, water, sewer, cable) are about $100 a month on top of rent for a one bedroom/one tenant. They force you to pay $40 for cable even if you don't want it. All the way around the worst rental experience I ever had and could not get out quick enough ...and if you want to get out early its a $2,200 buy out fee.
Its really nice to live around but really high and tricky payment bee hives are builded up in different areas around garages. Its really peaceful in the area
