Property Ratings at CEV Murray South: Off-Campus Student Housing
Living in CEV South for 2 years is enough credit to write this review. Be ready for non-existent maintenance workers, cold showers, constant construction, and terrible WiFi. Electricity is split between everyone but that doesn't stop them from charging upwards of $50-$60 dollars. My room when I moved in was disgusting. It smelled like a cat's litterbox that had not been changed all summer. The couches and carpet had never been cleaned(thanks Mom and Dad) and even had what I would not mistake as "grass" on the table. Do not move into these apartments unless you want to be taken advantage of. You do not get anything that you pay for. Do not fall for the show room! I would suggest finding enough people to rent your own house off campus if you are able to afford this
Management is the worst part of the whole place. They ignore all calls and will tell you one thing, then deny it later. Do not speak to them without recording every single word. Besides the (lack of) management, the place is infested with termites and roaches. There is mold on the walls and all of the balconies are literally falling off the buildings.
Terrible place to live. They don't take care of their apartment buildings and will overcharge you when you move out with unjustified expenses. They don't take complaints about roommates seriously and then make you pay for anything they have to clean or fix in regards to damages left by other tenants. Will say they are open to any questions or concerns but will rudely dismiss you in emails. On the outside the buildings are derelict and cover in bird poop. And the stairs on the apartment are poorly installed, very uneven and hard to walk up.
I lived here for a year, and while it seemed like a great deal, I began to realize now that they charged us for the electric for the whole building instead of the unit, so we were paying way too much. Management is awful. They charged us to replace the carpet in the living room (that we left in perfect condition) and they charged us way too much for the cheap carpet they invest in. To add insult to injury, they are completely unwilling to meet with us or even communicate with us on why we were charged and do not have pictures to prove the "damage" we apparently caused. On top of that, the stairs leading up to my unit were never cleaned so there was trash literally everywhere. It was embarrassing to bring people over to have to see everyone else trash. There was a large pot hole in the parking lot that I asked if they could fix, and no one ever got back to me about it or tried to fix it. When it snowed, they didn't even attempt to clean out the parking lot. They are taking advantage of ignorant college students. Go somewhere else.
Just the kind of place I've been looking for. Looks great and neighborly
It seems like a good deal at first but there are always overages, they divide the electricity between everyone in the building rather than the units. The furniture is cheap and they will try to greatly overcharge if anything goes out. I am moving out. When it snowed it took forever for them to clear the parking lot and didn't do that very well. The location is the only good thing about it. They do alot of exterior work to make it look good from a distance but nothing on the inside whereas the office has had a sign saying voted best place to live 3 years in a row since I've lived there and I moved in 2 years ago
