As one of Georgia’s largest cities, Columbus combines southern charm with thoroughly modern urban personality. Columbus has a heavy population of armed service members and civilian military employees thanks to the close proximity to Fort Moore, one of the nation’s largest military installations and home to the U.S. Army’s Infantry School.
