Many homes enjoy vast expanses of undeveloped bayou lands around their subdivisions. Property Ratings at Champion Lake Apartment Homes
HORRIBLE. DONT DO IT. They are renovating to make the complex look better but have no interest in applying that money to the gate that has been broken for MONTHS and when it is fixed, they still leave it open “so people won’t break it again” So much for “gated community”. My car has been broken into twice and the staff tell me it is normal. That money can be applied to some security cameras. The GATE is suppose to at least slow down unauthorized people and crime. They do not inform you of terms and conditions that are NOT written in the lease. A drawer was broken in my apartment the first day I moved in and they repaired it with wood glue… instead of a new drawer or at least different screws to hold it in place. These are WAY OVER PRICED. Don’t let the renovated outside and looks of these apartments fool you.

Just moving here to Lousiana I needed a place to stay and I appreciate the speediness of getting a place and such a short time. The view of the pond is gorgeous and for what’s included it’s pretty reasonable. Maintenance is on the spot to help with pretty much everything. Great place to live!

Have been living for 1.5 years and it's the worst apartments I have lived. 1) Their management has changed many times and it's still horrible. I have paid around 500s of electricity bill for months due to poor air conditioning system. I had to fight really hard for them to fix it but during the process have lost so much money. 2) Their repairs / fixing things are poor. They walk into apartments without leaving a notice and you just have to figure out if things got repaired or not. And most often they don't fix until you ask them 10 times. 3) Not a safe neighborhood. Many people suffered including me from stealing stuff from the cars. Yes it's gated community but people just wait till someone to follow. No surveillance cameras and poor lighting system. 4) Their business center is worst. Computer with lots of viruses and printer never works. 5) Gym with poor machines and terrible belts on treadmills. 6) When it rains, gutters are leaking and you can have pool of water in front of your door. Overall horrible apartments. Please consider something else.

You might be tempted to live here. But I wouldn't recommend it. The apartment complex changed ownership and the new owners live in Florida and are not interested in maintaining or investing this property. The new management staff is unhelpful and condescending at best. The appliances are over 24 years old and they refused to replace aging appliances. You have to call three and four times to get anything done. And then they act like they're doing you the favor.
There has been a change in the staff of Champion lake recently and it is one of the worst staff I have ever seen. They are very rude and non-cooperative. The new manager is very rude and doesnt care for the residents at all. It was really good till 3 months back.
Really like this apartment and the employees are super friendly and helpful. My only complaint is in getting things fixed. Their idea of a corrected problem doesn't match mine. After a year of similar problems it's time to replace some things.
I have lived at champion lake for a Year and a half now and I have to say you get what you pay for and more! Beautiful landscape, gated community, decent prices, and amazing staff. The apartments are very up to date and spacious for the price.Full size pool, lap pool, and fully furnished gym are all included. Couldn't ask for a better place!
When I was deciding where to live I had a few hours of combing through apartment finders online before making a list and scouting things out one Saturday. By 5:00pm I had to commit to something, and Champion Lake was the best option I felt I had at the time. When you first visit, it appears a bit larger and nicer. Later you realize it is one small loop with a little bifurcation, like a "Q" from ariel view. People who live here are busy, young singles or married couples, with a handful of families. I've been here for over a year and have only gotten to know a handful of my neighbors. The staff at the leasing office are very helpful and friendly. There are two small pools, but I only see mothers with children using the one by the leasing office, as it is somewhat of a shallow pool. The floor creaks despite every effort to "walk on rice paper" even barefooted over the carpeted areas. It can be easy to hear through walls and even floors to other apartments. I know when anyone opens their door to come or go. However, I like the floor plans, which are clean and modern. Some have fireplaces. They overcharge for single bedroom apartments, probably because of the demand from the local universities. For a single bedroom you will pay $780-850 per month before utilities, which can add another $50-90 per month. That is too expensive for the 690-710 sq ft you get, and I have contemplated moving when my lease is up. It can be a hassle to move, however, and most comparable options in the area will save you maybe $50-$175 a month. The complex is close to Bossier, and about 15 minutes from anything you would want to go to in Shreveport, including the universities and hospitals.
I would first like to start off saying how the apartments are not modern or up to date in anyway. The apartment managers show you a showroom apartment that is up to date but the actual apartment is NOT. I received a dusty nonclean apartment with kitchen draws as well as bathroom vanity draws missing. The pools are very small and NEVER clean. The "lap pool" might as well be a hot tub it is so small. When my lease was up the apartment managers tried to over charge me and did not honor the price they sent me in the mail. After leaving the apartment management sent me into collections, claiming I "owed rent" when I was never informed or sent anymore information in the mail . Lastly when I went back to ask why I received a call from collections they lied to my face and told me they can't help me. So all in all I now I have pay rent for an apartment I left due to the incompetance of management.
