Property Ratings at Champions Pines Apartments
Easily the worst apartment I have ever lived in. Asked if they had a 1st floor apartment before I moved in and they stated that they did. Told them that is the one I wanted and repeatedly asked if that was the one I was getting which they responded yes. I was moving from overseas so I didn't get a chance to verify that until I got here. Needless to say it was a second floor apartment. I didn't have time to change my arrangements so I was stuck with it. Maybe someone should train them on what their building layout is prior to allowing them help possible tennants. Yes, they have basketball courts which my son and I user to play on,until someone broke the rims on the hoops....about 6 MONTHS ago...guess what??? Still not fixed. Any amenity they claim they have is not even useful so don't be fooled by it. Also don't be fooled by the pictures...those were taken on the only day they ever cleaned the property. Pool was always a mess. To end on a good note I did have one maintenance request handled in a timely manner.
Champions Pines Apartments are spectacularly located, especially if you are military assigned to Fort Gordon. It is not far at all off of Gordon Highway and it is a very short drive to Gate 1. It is also a very short drive to the Augusta Mall, the Augusta Exchange and theater. Most surprising is the aesthetic. The complex is surrounded by trees and, aside from the distant sound of the nearby interstate, it is easy to forget you live in the city with the entire complex surrounded by not just a line of trees, but actual small wooded areas. It's affordable price brings a very large variety of tenants, both good and bad, loud and quiet. The population is very much adult, and there are not many children. As far as amenities go, it is among the most impressive variety I have seen in any apartments I have lived in. While the gym is not terribly impressive, and the machines could use some maintenance or replacement, it covers about anything you would need and not cramped. What sets it apart is a sauna and a racquetball court in the same building. There is also a very nicely furnished common area in the same main office building. Outside there is a completely fenced in basketball court, sand volleyball court, decent sized pool, and an open grassy area. While each apartment has hook-ups, there is a 24 hour coin laundry within the office building if you do not own machines. The apartments themselves have decent enough variety that you can find a size that will suit most needs. The buildings, however, are noticeably aging. Upon move-in, I would highly advise you to conduct a prompt inspection to report any maintenance issues as soon as possible. They do not mandate it as every other apartment complex I have lived in has. As the maintenance crew is small, and clearly overburdened. Aside from emergencies, it can take up to three months for a maintenance employee to get to your reported problem. You will also probably need to bring your own fire extinguisher when you move in. There is only one trash compactor for the entire complex, it gets full fast and tenants will leave garbage laying around the compactor regularly. Both the office and maintenance staff are very willing to stop and answer any questions and are very attentive. They are very polite and friendly, but the office staff does not seem entirely aware of what goes on in the complex. If there is an issue they need to contact you about, I recommend being proactive and not rely on them being prompt.
1st off b4 u actually move in, get about 2-3 cans of raid & spray d heck out of d whole apt. this place in roach infested so just do that before u move ur stuff. then buy roach pruff online and then put that stuff out b4 you move. pretty much give urself a week b4 u move ur stuff in. After that everything is pretty good. Its A pretty quiet area. Nice loc.
