Northeast Philadelphia is a large, mostly residential section of the city positioned a few miles outside of Downtown. With its abundance of affordable apartments and rental houses, the “Great Northeast” is a popular area for budget-conscious Philadelphians. The community’s most famous attraction is the Philadelphia Mills, a large outlet shopping center that also houses a major multiplex movie theater.
Dozens of public parks of every size give the locals ample opportunities to get outside and enjoy the fresh air, particularly the huge nature preserve surrounding Pennypack Creek. Convenient access to SEPTA service, Interstate 95, and Northeast Philadelphia Airport make it easy for folks to travel across town or across the country.

Property Ratings at Chapelcroft Apartments
The Carpets in the hallways at ChapleCroft are disgusting people drag their trash bags down the halls and trash be all in the carpet. They have mice and roaches moved in and didn’t bring them with me from my previous home and the place is infested with them. They breached contracts of new tenants by adding in all these additional fees to rent with never a notice on site but constantly going up on things. No I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone don’t be fooled save yourself. I honestly miss Chris he was the only one that had things being done in a timely fashion . I will not be renewing my lease just unprofessional and nasty
Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! If you want your peace this is not the place to live. There’s way too much noise from your neighbors poor insulation, you can hear their conversations, taking a shower or walking. I can’t wait to move from here. The rent has increased and you can find better somewhere else. I was hesitant to write a review, but if I can help someone keep their sanity then I have to tell the truth. Please find someone else to live. The hallway’s has a odor and the trash outside is always full. The only pros I can give this apartment are I have no mice, roaches, good heat in the winter and AC in the summer, the gym is sufficient to use, and nice size apartment for a one bedroom, but it’s not worth it. I don’t know what’s going on with this place, but something is not right and I have to leave! Oh, and believe what the others are expressing it’s bad!
I've lived in my apartment for almost two years. I'm not sure if management changed or what, but this place went downhill fast. First of all, management is extremely unresponsive, and if you push the issue, they will fight and blame YOU for their mistakes. Laundry is insanely expensive (more than a laundromat and the washers and dryers are super tiny); they don't do anything about disruptive tenants (those who smoke weed in their apartments and stinking up the building; those who leave trash in the hallway outside of their door for days at a time); there is an actual crater in the middle of the parking lot that they won't fix. The list goes on and on. The rooms are a decent size, but the building, unresponsive/rude management, and "problem" tenants make it so that the cost of rent is not nearly worth what you get. As someone else said, your rent increases every year with your lease, yet they provide no changes and terrible service. I'd say get your moneys worth and find a better place to rent with.
As someone who has lived here for too long, this place has become a dump. First few years were fine! But ever since the pandemic started, it has become unbearable to live in. Noise, noise, noise. Tired of hearing my noisy upstairs neighbors yell at each other, stomp back and forth (the apartments aren't even big enough to walk that much), and slam doors/slam things around. Very poor noise insulation. Dirty hallways and stairwells, lots of smoking smells throughout hallways. Elevator is always 50/50 on if it will work, so don't depend on it unfortunately. Laundry facilities are also dirty. Washing machines will decide to not work from time to time, people don't get their clothes on time either. Front of the building is being worked on but has been that way since December. Wants to raise rent constantly but doesn't improve anything on the inside until you leave. Waste of time and money.
Packages constantly stolen and they dont do anything about it.not a safe place. People have tried to break into my apartment
Leaking ceilings/windows. Fire alarms constantly going off. Rude staff. Bugs!
I currently live here and will not renew my lease. This is the worst place ever to live. Elevator breaks down constantly. You can smell the mold and mildew. You have to pay for water. For there smallest 1 BR unit they charge $30. The bigger the unit the more they charge for water. You always smell marijuana in the hallways. And if you next to a smoker the marijuana smell will be in your apartment. You can see drug transactions being done in the parking lot. The hot water does not always work. So when you wake up to go to work you don't have hot water. And it takes hours for the problem to get fixed. The leasing office takes everything personal. They also have an authoritarian attitude. The washing machines are dirty. They have all the hallway doors closed. So now during the pandemic your forced to touch the doorknobs. They used to have them open all the time. The entire building is dirty. The cleaning person only comes 3 times a week. They control the heat. Once they turn off the heat; its off until the next winter. So you will need to have an electric heater in the apartment.
I moved here December of last year and I love it. Bonnie and the property manager was extremely nice and helped me with whatever questions and concerns I had. The apartment is newly renovated which I love! Everyone pretty much keeps to themselves and the maintenance person always keeps the place nice and clean. Would recommend this place to anyone
The staff has been very friendly and apartments are nice and clean. Overall very good for the price
I've been living at Chaplecroft Apartments for almost 5 months and I love it here. Both the neighbors and the staff I have interacted with are terrific. I got a studio apartment and the layout is terrific, I don't at all feel claustrophobic as can be the case in such units. Any issues I have had were resolved within hours. My power went out late at night when I first moved in(my own fault btw as I did not know where my circuit breakers were located) and Toby from the leasing office drove from her own house to assist me. The gym is terrific and well maintained with commercial grade equipment, the type you expect to find in far more expensive apartment complexes. The staff are always doing little upgrades to the halls and clearly care about the place. As someone that has worked for an apartment complex and lived in many, I can tell when a place is well taken care of. My sister and parents both recently moved to nearby apartment complexes and after having time to spend time in all three places I feel very confidently I made out the best out of all of us despite paying significantly less per month for rent.

Thank you for your kind words and fabulous review. We strive for perfection and are so glad we have made you happy, and we will continue to do so. Please let us know if we can improve on anything for you.
I have spent MONTHS looking for an apartment that cater to my needs and wants. I came across Chapelcroft on my apartment search and I fell in love with the pictures. When i went to visit, the place looked exactly how the pictures do. The people who live here are very nice, friendly and considerate. The neighbors are not noisy. Bonnie and Toby are both AMAZING! I worked closely with Bonnie with the move in process and it was a breeze. She was very prompt in her responses and any questions i had were answered pretty much immediately. The apartment is clean and spacious. Maintenance responds right away and i greatly appreciate that. I also feel very safe here. As a young woman living alone, safety is very important to me and since my move in day, i have felt safe and secured. Public transportation is less than a min walk away as well. The fitness center is also great! I am VERY satisfied with my choice!

We have to say your were a pleasure to work with as well. Thank you for your kind words and know we are here for suggestions as well as the compliments. Just knowing your experience was such a great one, reassures us we are doing something right. Again, remember we are always here if you need us!
If you’re ok with an elevator that is constantly breaking and no ramp for a stroller or wheelchair then this place is great for you! Also be prepared to have inconsistent hot water and heat. Oh and a parking lot that is not maintained ( i.e. pot holes and tree branches). One last thing, be sure to check out the old and warped steps to the front of the building!
The first time my mother and I drove to checkout ChapelCroft's apartment complex, it left me with a great first impression. It was well maintained, neat, clean and very quiet. There's also a number of parks (Pennypack Park and others) nearby. It has easy access to main routes, shopping, restaurants and more. It's close to Center City yet tucked away in a quaint little neighborhood. Bonnie and Toby (leasing officials) was very courteous and helpful in making my move seamless, as I just relocated from Alaska, and retired from the USAF. My apartment is cozy and spacious with much appreciated amenities. Just moved in and it’s been a great experience so far. I really enjoy living here, and hope to provide more stellar reviews in the years to come! *^.^*

The staff and maintenance are very nice and helpful. Whenever I needed anything done (which was very rare) it was done within 24 hours. The building sits in a prime location convenient to Doctor's offices, vehicle services, restaurants, shopping and movies.I will definitely miss living here.

Thank you for your kind words and we are so sad to see you go! We wish you all of the best on your new journey!
I recently move into Chapelcrofy Apartments just one month ago. I was looking around at different places in the Northeast Philadelphia area. When I called for availability for any apartments in Chapelcroft. I had the pleasure to meet Toby of the leasing office. She was very helpful with getting everything ready with the apartment before I was able to move in. Toby and Bonnie have been so nice every time I meet them. There are plenty of great things about living here. You are right on Bustleton Ave. You are in walking distance for mostly everything you need. Food stores, movie theater, CVS, Wawa, restaurants etc. For living here now for one month. It has been really great. I never hear any noise, and my neighbors are always so nice to greet each other when we see each other. Lastly, I was really happy with the gym they have in here, and that the hot water, cooking gas, and heat are all included with the monthly rent. I am very happy that I picked this apartment to move into.
Wonderful place to live! I needed a place to stay while going to school in Abington, and this was absolutely perfect. I had a beautiful one bedroom apartment with tons of sunlight. Incredibly reasonable price for what you get. Everything was clean and well maintained. We only had one problem (the shower faucet stopped working months into the lease) and maintenance came over within the hour to fix the problem. They've been really working to improve the building, like painting, recarpeting, decorating, filling potholes in the parking lot, and generally maintaining a really nice appearance. Toby is an incredibly nice person to deal with! She helped us with anything we needed and the move out process was a breeze. I would absolutely recommend living here.
Great place to live. Would recommend to anyone looking to live somewheres in a good neighborhood and get there money's worth. Toby and bonnie in the leasing office have very helpful as well! No complaints
its awesome and the remodeling thats currently been done makes it even better... chapelcroft has everything gym laundromat and more. you dont have to travel far to go to movies supermarket restaurants everything is within a 1mile radius.
I just recently moved out due to needing a bigger space for my growing family. My time here was pleasant. Peaceful area, peaceful neighbors, and a safe place to call home. The management and maintenance staff are friendly, understanding and very helpful. I wish I could’ve stayed here longer because I truly miss this place already. There’s plenty to do around here, shopping, eating, and fun activities. The schools around here are great as well. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience, I definitely recommend this place.
Great place to live! My apartment is exactly what I looked for when I moved to Philly. The staff are great and are responsive to any issues that have come up over the approximately 5 years that I have lived here. Close to shopping and restaurants (since I don't cook). Thanks!
Love the new apartment! Perfect size for our needs and close to a lot of great shopping and transportation. Everyone is helpful and friendly
Good place to call home. Whenever you need something fixed they are quick and responsive. The upgrades are apartments are beautiful.
perfect conditions for living in children. responsive managers, the latter will always listen and help.
June 13th, 2018 My name is Nora Mahoney. I am a tenant living here in Chapelcroft for 41 years. This is a great place to live, the Managers Toby and Bonnie who give their 100% to all of the tenants in the building. If you have a problem you can speak with them anytime of the day and they will help you with what your needs are to ask questions or repairs. There is a great crew of maintenance men here, Marek and his coworkers who work very hard to make repairs as needed. They are our maintenance crew. Chapelcroft is very clean and they have a crew who keeps the hallways, laundry room very clean every day! There is an elevator in the building, we have an exercise room that you can work out in and keep in shape. There is a large parking lot for the cars and there is a bin outside to put your trash in anytime of the day and it is picked up regularly. Everyone is very nice and helpful. This is a prime location you have many stores to shop and there is a 58 bus that is across the street if you need to use it. The schools are close by for your children and it is a quiet building. We have a mailroom in the building as well.
I moved here as a last minute/last resort. I was happy with the price and the general appearance however, locking windows on the ground floor aren't important apparently. After a month living here, the pipes overflowed and I had miscellaneous food scraps from the kitchen drains from Neighbors on the floors above me, all over my kitchen floor and in my cabinets and on my oriental rug. Laundry is expensive. Buttttttttt you can't beat the price of the rental. It could be worse. In the area, this is your best bet. The tile is nice and it's roomy- to end on a good note.
