Property Ratings at Charleston Apartments
My family has lived here for 4 years now and I will not be going anywhere else. The staff is amazing and always helpful to find a solutions to any problem I have. Other places may have materials to offer. But here you have people who truly care about and fight for you.
Currently renter. I’ve lived here for half a year, and it is not ideal. To start, there are grass stickers/burrs EVERYWHERE. there is nothing the property does to get rid of them. The grill situation. You’re not allowed to have a personal grill because they provide to propane grills for tenants. They would be great if they consistently worked! One hasn’t worked since I moved in, the starter is out. The other works but since it’s the only one, it never has propane. How am I supposed to use my amenities?? The pool situation Took them extra time to open the pool because who knows why, just another excuse. They only opened one of the pools, the one conveniently in front of managements office. The other was left unopened all summer. Why do I pay for two pools and grills if I can’t use them? They have reserved bins for dog waste, but only pick the bags up every other month. They STINK. Not that it’s the properties fault, but there is a large homeless population that travels through this complex and it can make people uneasy. The volleyball pit has rocks in the sand, have you ever played volleyball on rocks? Don’t. Honestly, I was enticed by the price but I wish I would have taken the rent increase at my old apartment, maybe they’ll still take me back. ;(
Property Manager at Charleston Apartments, Responded To This Review
Dear Resident, We are very sorry for the stickers but do pay a landscaping company to come out weekly. They have informed us that there is a problem with them this year and doing their best. The grills are functional and have propane but if ever there is a problem, please inform the office and we will get it resolved as quickly as possible. Our main pool did open on the Friday prior to memorial weekend with a big pool party and stayed open past Labor Day weekend. Normal pool season is Memorial weekend through Labor Day weekend. We did have a problem with the smaller pool 911 phone, therefore unable to open it as it kept calling 911. The pet stations get emptied twice a week but they are pet waste and unfortunately don't smell the best. Periodically the maintenance staff does remove them and try to make them smell better. There are pebbles in the volleyball sand that came with the sand to try to weigh down the sand and nothing can be done about that. If you would like to discuss the amenties or anything else further please feel free to contact the office.
Great place to live. Management is very caring and helpful. I would highly recommend this apartment. Safe and quiet place to live.
Rented here for about a year. Caught over 20 mice in my apartment with no assistance from the management. After I got the 23rd mouse the office finally decided to give me mice traps but still refused to call an exterminator. Talked to management at least 10 times about it and they came to "inspect the issues" at least 3 times and found the mice I had trapped but refused to do anything about it. Maintenence request for my shower took months to fix. I ended up having to put in a request daily until someone bother to look at it. The bathroom ceiling was just a piece of plywood screwed into the ceiling. It took over 6 months for the company to close out my account and return my safety deposit after I moved out. I had to threaten to get a lawyer before they decided to look into it.
New management, new apartments, this complex and business is headed in the right direction. Andrew is great!
